  • This study is (1) to analyze urban employed husbands' time use applying a framework which classifies a day into public time familial time and individual time in order to demonstrate its disproportion in terms of their and their families' welfare(2) and to identify the related factors to their time use. Data for 280 husbands were gathered through structured questionnaire and time diary. Major findings are as follows; (1) Husband's time allocation is usually concentrated on their individual and public time while they spend relatively very short familial time. (2) Types of occupation age and wives' employment status are all related with husbands; time use but their sex-role attitude shows no significant relation.

  • Smartphones are representative multimedia devices capable of various functions that have emerged due to the development of information communication technologies (ICTs). The popularization of smartphones has changed the way ICTs media is used; consequnetly, it is expected that smartphones will influence family life by changing family communications and time use. However, there is a gap between the empirical research on ICTs media and family. This study explores any correlations in the amount of time spent on smartphones between a husband and wife. We marged 1,444 married couples' media diaries from the 8th Korean Media Panel Survey (2017) to analyze the average amount of time spent on communications and leisure shopping using smartphones. The results show that husbands' time use for communication has increased similarly to wives' time use. In addition, husbands' time use for leisure and shopping was positively related to wives' time spent on communications and leisure shopping. The findings show that the use of smartphones is interrelated within the family and suggested that a family systems approach is needed in ICTs media research. Future studies will provide a deeper understanding of the impact of ICTs media and how families are using a variety of ICTs media devices such as smartphones.

  • Determining the total duration for a construction project is an integral part of project management in the construction industry. This is to ensure the project and all its associated activities can be carried out and completed within the time frame stipulated. There are several commonly used scheduling methods and techniques in project management, some of which involves manual calculation while others involve computer software. This paper looks into the various time determination methods, extracting out their differences and similarities. It also seeks to draw out the problems when determining time for projects, especially those encountered of case studies. Based on the results from the case studies, there were delays on certain projects even though time determination had been carried out rigorously prior to the commencement of the projects. This paper seeks to develop a time determination model, which incorporates risk management techniques into the calculations in order to improve the method for time estimation to minimize the chances of project delay.

  • In this paper, we study to evaluate the relative time required to perform the CT scanning in the PACS versus a film-based system and helical versus non-helical studies. Time studies were performed in 175 consecutive CT scanning. Images from 85 examinations were electronically transferred to a PACS, and 90 were printed to film. The time required to obtain and electronically transfer the images or print the images to film and make the current and previous studies available to the radiologists for interpretation was recorded. The time required for a radiological technologist to complete a CT test was reduced by 43% with the PACS compared with the film-based system and nonhelical was reduced 10~20% with helical studies. This reduction was due to the elimination of a transfer and printing, such as the printing at window or level settings. The use of PACS can result in the elimination of time tasks for the radiological technologist, resulting in marked reduction in examination time. This reduction can result in decreased cost and increased productivity in PACS operation.

  • The aim of the present study is to research into the household work time change and its structure in urban home makers by the choosen eleven studies and KBS's Data 1981, 1983, 1985, 1987. This study were proceeded under some limitations, it is choosen eleven studies that is different region: large city, medium and small town, and the household work's categories of original auther were changed. And KBS's Data was composed of general formation without personal character of home maker: FLC, number of childeren, family type, education, region. Although this study have a certain meaning of implementation, research into the household work time change and its's structure. The major findings of this study can be autlined as follows: (1) Total household work time did'nt so much changed through the choosen eleven studies compared with the last twenty years ago. In the change of each province household work time, time connected with meals and dwelling did not showed consistancy of change. But cloth laundering and mending time of 80's were declined compared with 70's. Family care time of 80's was increased, home management and buying time was declined untill '85, but again increasing trend '87. In choosen eleven studies, the household work time structure of urban home makers can be outlined: time connected with Meals>Family care>Cloth laundering and mending>Dwelling>Home management and Buying. (2) KBS's time-series data were analized as follows: a) Total household work time of '87 was declining gradually in weekday (34 minutes), sat. (41 minutes), sun (1 house and 2 minutes) compared with '81. b) The change of each province household work time: the time of cooking and sewing home management were declining gradually in its Mean time and its ratio of acters. The acter ratio of household worker in '81, '83, '85 was composed Cooking > Cleaning > Laundering > Home management > Buying > Child care > Sewing. In '87 was composed Cooking > Cleaning > Laundering > Buying > Home management > Child care > Sewing. c) The structure of household work time revealed some differences in each year and a day of the week.

  • The importance of time grows greater these days. For that reason, much research has been conducted to investigate time use. In particular, time spent in housework has been a focus in the human ecology. This study aimed to look into the field of research about time spent in housework from 1991 to 2004. To conduct the inquiry, 35 research projects were analyzed by subject. It turned out that most of the research studied the actual state of time use and related variables. Secondly, the research was classified by the measurement method, such as who wrote the time log or questionnaire, what type of response the researcher wanted and what kind of recording method was used. In 30 research projects, respondents wrote in their time logs and questionnaires by themselves. A few research projects presented certain types of behavior as examples of the actions in everyday life. For the recording method, 22 of the projects employed the time log method and 11 used questionnaires. Thirdly, all the research was categorized by the respondent of each project. 14 projects were targeted .at housewives and 14 were for married couples. Lastly, the definition of time spent in housework was used to consider these 35 studies. Most of the research studies defined the 'time spent in housework' as the total amount of the time spent in eating, clothing, housing, family care and household management.

  • We want to find a timestamping method which improves efficient performance and have high-level security to send secured messages in the digital signature and the law of e-commerces. Our paper shows a H-binary tree of time stamp to use a time stamp protocol with high security and performance in the packets of sending messages. We implement and analyze the protocols, show to compare with previous RSA methods. Our proposed protocol has O(log n) time complexity and high-performance.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze time-use studies of korea and to discuss them. For the analysis of Korean studies, the articles which were published on the Journal of Korean Home Economics Association, the Journal of Korean Home Management Association, and other journals and theses for a degree from 1962 to 1987 were investigated by theme and research method. Time-use studies in home management began with the experiment for work simplification and the survey of time use by housewives. In recent years all family members are subject to sample, varied themes are studies, and more defined research methods are used. For the future study, it was suggested that genernal theories should be developed and appropriate research method should be applied.

  • This study is daily life research which aims to explore people's daily lives using a time dairy survey. The purpose of this study is to develop a typology of early, elderly over 55-year-olds using the 2009 Korean Time Use Survey. The results suggest that each man and woman can be classified according to three dimensions which are work time, housework time, and leisure time. Four groups of men are described: the work and leisure balanced type, the work-oriented type, the leisure-oriented type, and the leisure with housework type. Four groups of women are illustrated: the work-oriented type, the leisure-oriented type, the housework-oriented type, and the passive type. The eight groups are characterized by age, education, income, spouse, gender role, lack of time, and satisfaction of time use.
