  • In the conventional infrared imaging system, complex infrared lens systems are usually used for directing collimated narrow infrared beams into the high speed 2-dimensional optic scanner. In this paper, a simple reflective infrared optic system with a 2-dimensional optic scanner is proposed for the realization of medical infrared thermography system. It has been experimentally proven that the intfrared thermography system composed of the proposed optic system has the temperature resolution of $0.1^{\circ}C$ under the spatial resolution of lmrad, the image matrix size of $256 {\times} 240, $ and tile imaging time of 4 seconds.

원적외선 온열효과를 위한 나노탄소타일 개발 (Development of Nano Carbon Tile for Far-Infrared Thermotherapy Effect)

  • 본 연구에서는 수용성 아크릴 에멀젼 접착제를 주성분으로 스틸렌 모노머(stylene monomer)와 메틸올 아크릴아미드 모노머(methylol acrylamide monomer)를 경화시키고, 여기에 산화환원제와 점도 조절을 통한 나노 탄소타일을 개발한다. 이때 수용성 아크릴 에멀젼 접착제(45 %)와 300~500메시(mesh) 코코넛 숯(55%) 파우더를 일정비율로 25~30분간 혼합 교반하면, 직경 1~3mm 구형체가 형성된다. 성형된 조성물은 소성온도 $90{\sim}300^{\circ}C$에서 30~90분가량의 소성과정을 거친 후 상온에서 건조시키면, 숯 성형물은 95% 이상 순수한 고형활성탄이 된다. 친환경 숯 성형물을 입증하기 위해 원적외선 비율, 에너지 분석, 가스농도 및 항균실험을 실시해 안정성을 확보한다.

복수 표면균열의 확률적 특성을 고려한 용접부 피로수명 평가 (Fatigue Life Estimation of Welded Joints considering Statistical Characteristics of Multiple Surface Cracks)

  • Multiple surface crack distributed randomly along a weld toe influences strongly on the fatigue crack propagation life of welded joint. It is investigated by using statistical approaches based on series of systematic experiments. From the statistical results, initial crack numbers and its locations follow the normal distribution, and the probability of initial crack depths and lengths can be described well by tile Weibull distribution. These characteristics are used to calculate the fatigue crack propagation life, in which the mechanisms of mutual interaction and coalescence of the multiple cracks are considered as well as the Mk-factors obtained from a parametric study on the crack depths and lengths. The automatic calculation is achieved by the NESUSS, where the parameters such as the number, location and size of the cracks are all treated as random variables. The random variables are dealt through the Monte-Carlo simulation with sampling random numbers of 2,000. The simulation results show that the multiple cracks lead to much shorter crack propagation life compared with those in single crack situation. The sum of the simulation and tile fatigue crack initiation life derived by the notch strain approach agrees well with the experiments.

Study on the Growth of Monoclinic VO2 Phase Applicable for Thermochromic Ceramic Tile

  • Vanadium dioxide ($VO_2$) of monoclinic phase exhibits Metal Insulator Phase Transition (MIPT) phenomenon involving a sharp change in electrical and optical properties at $68^{\circ}C$. Solution-based process is applied to form uniform $VO_2$ coating layer on ceramic tiles. This can selectively block the near-infrared light to possibly reduce the energy loss and prevent dew condensation caused by the temperature difference. Heat treatment conditions including temperature and dwell time were examined to obtain a monoclinic $VO_2$ single phase. Both rutile and monoclinic $VO_2$ phases were observed from in the tiles post-annealed below $700^{\circ}C$. Desired monoclinic $VO_2$ single phase was grown in the tiles heat treated at $750^{\circ}C$. Nano facets of irregular size were observed in the monoclinic $VO_2$ phase involving the phase-transition. Grain growth of monoclinic $VO_2$ phase was observed as a function of dwell time at $750^{\circ}C$.

  • Small-scale models have been frequently used for experimental evaluation of seismic performance because of limited testing facilities and economic reasons. However, there are not enough studies on similitude law for analogizing prototype structures accurately with small-scale models, although conventional similitude law based on geometry is not well consistent in the inelastic seismic behavior. When fabricating prototype and small-scale model of reinforced concrete structures by using the same material, added mass is demanded from a volumetric change and scale factor could be limited due to size of aggregate. Therefore, it is desirable that different material is used for small-scale models. Thus, a modified similitude law could be derived depending on geometric scale factor and equivalent modulus ratio. In this study, compressive strength tests are conducted to analyze equivalent modulus ratio of micro-concrete to normal-concrete. Equivalent modulus ratios are divided into elastic, weak nonlinear and strong nonlinear phases, which are based on ultimate strain level. Therefore, an algorithm adaptable to the pseudodynamic test, considering equivalent three phase similitude law based on seismic damage levels, is developed. In addition, prior to tile experiment, it is verified numerically if tile algorithm is applicable to the pseudodynamic test.

디지털 시네마용 Motion JPEG2000 인코더의 FPGA 설계 (FPGA Design of Motion JPEG2000 Encoder for Digital Cinema)

  • 본 논문에서는 주요 영화사들로 구성된 DCI(Digital Cinema Initiatives)에 의해 디지털 시네마를 위한 영상 압축 표준으로 제정된 Motion JPEG2000 부호화기를 FPGA를 타겟으로 구현하였다. JPEG2000의 주요 구성요소인 리프팅-기반의 DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform)와 EBCOT(Embedded Block Coding with Optimized Truncation)의 Tier 1을 하드웨어로 구현하였고, Tier 2과정은 소프트웨어로 구현하였다. 디지털 시네마를 위해 입력 영상의 크기(tile size)는 최대 $1024\times1024$까지의 고해상도를 지원할 수 있도록 하였고, 실시간성을 보장하기 위해 3개의 엔트로피 부호화기를 사용하였다. Verilog-HDL을 이용하여 하드웨어로 구현했을 경우 Altera사의 Stratix EP1S80에서 32,470 LE (logic element)에 해당하는 자원을 사용하면서 FPGA에 사상되었고, 150Mhz의 주파수에서 안정적으로 동작하였다.

  • 고체 추진기관의 불량 발생 요인 중 가장 큰 부분을 차지하고 있는 추진제 기공 및 크랙은 추진제의 점도와 물성이 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 연구는 혼합형 고체 추진제의 한 종류인 나이트레이트 폴리이서(Nitrate Ester Polyester; NEPE)계열의 추진제에서 주로 사용되는 RDX의 입도 및 혼합 함량에 따른 추진제 점도, 기계적 물성 및 연소특성 변화를 관찰하였다. RDX 입도와 혼합 함량에 따라 미경화 추진제의 경시적 점도가 크게 변화가 되었으며, 이에 따른 추진제 물성 또한 변화가 있었다. 추진제의 낮은 점도와 안정된 기계적 물성을 동시에 고려할 때, RDX의 입도 및 혼합 함량은 NEPE계 추진제의 주요 인자로 확인할 수 있다.

  • In general, under the concept of unit load, Automated Storage/Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) have the rack of equal sized cells. However, they are inadequate and inefficient meeting the various sizes of customers' demands in today's business environment. Higher utilization and flexibility of warehouse storage can be achieved by using AS/RS with tile rack of modularized cell. In this paper, the model of AS/RS with the rack of modularized cell is proposed, and the effectiveness of proposed model is presented by way of numerical examples. The model developed in this research, as one type of AS/RS that is more flexible to the size and has higher space utilization than those of existing rack structure, could every useful for the storage of heterogeneous unit load sizes.

  • GaN crystals were deposited by tile direct reaction between ammonia and gallium at 105$0^{\circ}C$, 107$0^{\circ}C$ and 110$0^{\circ}C$ on (0001) plane sapphire substrate. The size of GaN crystals were increased with reaction temperature, but its were decreased with increasing the flow rates of NH$_3$. The size of GaN of 46${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ were deposited ell sapphire substrate at the reaction temperature of 107$0^{\circ}C$ for growth time of 60 min.

  • This study focused on the introduction of damage repair for polymeric composite carbody. called selfing tech-healinique. using microcapsules loaded with the healing agent The manufacturing process for microcapsules with the healing agent was introduced and tile characteristics of microcapsules manufactured by varying with various manufacturing process variables were evaluated. The DCPD was used for the healing agent and microcapsules were made of urea-formaldehyde resin. The magnitude and the size distribution of microcapsules were measured by a particle size analyzer using laser diffraction technique. Thermal stability was investigated by using a TGA under continuous and isothermal heating conditions for the healing agent. microcapsules without the healing agent. microcapsules with the healing agent.
