전통수제기와 규격에 관한 고증 연구 (A Historical Study on the Specifications of Traditional Handmade Roof-tile)

  • The purpose of this study is to retrospect the establishment process of specification of modern factory-made traditional Korean roof-tile. Its another purpose is to analyze the specification of watong(瓦桶, a wooden molding frame for roof tile making) which is recorded in the literature of Joseon dynasty. The results of this study are as follows. : First, the specification of modern factory-made Korean roof-tile that currently used was established in 1978. And it did not succeed old traditional specification. Second, in case of construction or repair of main building of palace, it was a principle to use Daewa(大瓦, the big size roof-tile). And Sangwa(常瓦, the ordinary size roof-tile) was used when needed. Also, Jungwa(中瓦, the middle size roof-tile) was used regardless of the size of group building. And Sowa(小瓦, the small size roof-tile) was used in house and wall of royal tomb. Third, it is needed to establish a specification of traditional handmade roof-tile based on the specification of watong through research of the litterateur. So, a standard draft for this was proposed. Finally, one can find the significance that this study has tried to find a specification of traditional roof-tile that can be applied to construction or repair of cultural heritage.

알루미나의 시편크기가 방탄거동에 미치는 영향 (Tile Size Dependency of Ballistic Performance in Alumina)

  • The ballistic efficiency of alumina tiles with various sizes, shapes, and target configurations was measured by the thick backing plate technique. The ballistic efficiency of square tiles roughly 8 mm thick struck by 12.7mm diameter bullets rapidly increased with tile size up to about 100mm, then tended to saturate. Circular shape tiles had lower ballistic efficiencies than those of square shape tiles for the same width and thickness. Small tiles (50mm) that were recessed in aluminum wells had a significantly higher ballistic efficiency than tiles placed on a flat surface. However, the difference in the ballistic efficiency between the two target configurtions became small at larger tile sizes. All the results could be explained by the effect of reflected waves at edges and the propagation of resulting cracks on the penetration process.

Roof tile frangibility and puncture of metal window shutters

  • The goal of this study was to investigate the vulnerability of roof tile systems and metal shutters to roof tile debris. Three phases addressed the performance of tile roof systems and metal shutters impacted by roof tile debris. The first phase experimentally evaluated the tile fragment size and quantity generated by a tile striking a tile roof system. The second phase experimentally quantified the puncture vulnerability of common metal panel shutter systems as a function of tile fragment impact speed. The third phase provided context for interpretation of the experimental results through the use of a tile trajectory model. The results provide supporting evidence that while metal panel window shutters provide significant protection against a prevalent form of windborne debris, these systems are vulnerable to tile fragment puncture in design level tropical cyclones. These findings correlate with field observations made after Hurricane Charley (2004).

Fractal analysis of mandibular trabecular bone: optimal tile sizes for the tile counting method

  • Purpose : This study was performed to determine the optimal tile size for the fractal dimension of the mandibular trabecular bone using a tile counting method. Materials and Methods : Digital intraoral radiographic images were obtained at the mandibular angle, molar, premolar, and incisor regions of 29 human dry mandibles. After preprocessing, the parameters representing morphometric characteristics of the trabecular bone were calculated. The fractal dimensions of the processed images were analyzed in various tile sizes by the tile counting method. Results : The optimal range of tile size was 0.132 mm to 0.396 mm for the fractal dimension using the tile counting method. The sizes were closely related to the morphometric parameters. Conclusion : The fractal dimension of mandibular trabecular bone, as calculated with the tile counting method, can be best characterized with a range of tile sizes from 0.132 to 0.396 mm.

외장타일의 접착강도 및 안전성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experiment Study on the Safety and Bond Strength of Exterior Tile)

  • Today, the conception of building architecture is changing the conception that it is a kind of product and the operator of construction try to produce excellent building through developing efficiency and materials of building component. This study improves the problematic point of the extenor tile setting, through making on experiment on the method of it and purposes doing to do the exterior tile setting of good quality as it selects out of the most conformable the method. The experimental materials choose the tile of 60$\times$108mm size which are using frequently in the exterior tile setting and mortar is made from sand of Han river and potland cement, which apply the volume mixing of the ratio 1:3. The water cement ratio (W/C)is made up 62% The methods of tile setting utilise the method of the tile setting and laying the method of the tile improved setting and laying, the method ol the pressing adhesion, the method of the improved pressing adhesion and the method of setting adherent (the method of VIBRATOR).

  • Recently, the size of tiles used for bathroom walls in apartment houses is gradually increasing in size. The problem is that when these large-sized tiles are attached by the sticking method, due to the nature of the method, there is a concern about the stability of the attachment to the part (pupil) where the tile and the adhesive are not attached. The problem is serious as it leads to lawsuits in the outbreak court. In addition, it is urgent to verify the adhesion stability of the sticking method because secondary damage occurs due to a safety accident caused by the falling of the tile. Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport [Investigation of defects in apartment houses, calculation of repair cost and defect determination criteria] ① The tile adhesion strength is 0.39N/mm2 or more and ② It is specified to fill 80% or more of the base area of the tile backside, but this is currently trendy. It is considered that large-sized tiles need to be verified from multiple angles, and as part of that, we intend to verify the adhesion stability according to the area to be attached to large-sized tiles.

잘피 서식지 모니터링을 위한 딥러닝 기반의 드론 영상 의미론적 분할 (Semantic Segmentation of Drone Imagery Using Deep Learning for Seagrass Habitat Monitoring)

  • 잘피는 연안해역에 서식하는 해양수생관속식물로 해양생태계의 중요한 역할을 하고 있어, 주기적인 잘피 서식지의 모니터링이 이루어지고 있다. 최근 효율적인 잘피 서식지의 모니터링을 위해 고해상도의 영상 획득이 가능한 드론의 활용도가 높아지고 있다. 그리고 의미론적 분할에 있어 합성곱 신경망 기반의 딥러닝이 뛰어난 성능을 보임에 따라, 원격탐사 분야에 이를 적용한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 다양한 딥러닝 모델, 영상, 그리고 하이퍼파라미터에 의해 의미론적 분할의 정확도가 다르게 나타나고, 영상의 정규화와 타일과 배치 크기에서도 정형화되어 있지 않은 상태이다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 우수한 성능을 보여주는 딥러닝 모델을 이용하여 드론의 광학 영상에서 잘피 서식지를 분할하였다. 그리고 학습 자료의 정규화 및 타일의 크기를 중점으로 결과를 비교 및 분석하였다. 먼저 정규화와 타일, 배치 크기에 따른 결과 비교를 위해 흑백 영상을 만들고 흑백 영상을 Z-score 정규화 및 Min-Max 정규화 방법으로 변환한 영상을 사용하였다. 그리고 타일 크기를 특정 간격으로 증가시키면서 배치 크기는 메모리 크기를 최대한 사용할 수 있도록 하였다. 그 결과, Z-score 정규화가 적용된 영상이 다른 영상보다 IoU가 0.26 ~ 0.4 정도 높게 나타났다. 또한, 타일과 배치 크기에 따라 최대 0.09까지 차이가 나타나는 것을 확인하였다. 딥러닝을 이용한 의미론적 분할에 있어 정규화, 타일의 배치 크기의 변화에 따른 결과가 다르게 나타났다. 그러므로 실험을 통해 이들 요소에 대한 적합한 결정 과정이 있어야 함을 알 수 있었다.

Characterization of Lightweight Earthenware Tiles using Foaming Agents

  • Green bodies of earthenware tile were prepared from a mixture of earthenware tile powder and SiC as forming agents by applying a conventional process. Granule powder for tile samples was prepared using the spray drying method with commercial earthenware raw material with a quantity of SiC of 0.3 wt%. The applied pressure was $250kg{\cdot}f/m^2$ and the firing temperature was $1050-1200^{\circ}C$. The effects of the SiC particle size and sintering temperature on the open porosity and total porosity were investigated and the correlative mechanism was also discussed. While total porosity was not significantly changed by decreasing the SiC particle size, the open porosity showed a gradual decrease, which represents an increase of the closed porosity. As the sintering temperature increased, coarsening was made among the pores due to excessive oxidation. The volume shrinkage and bending strength were demonstrated for the sintered tile samples. The sintered bulk density was also measured to determine the weight reduction value.

  • In modern architecture, tiles are used as a decorative material to enhance the appearance of buildings. However, defects occurring during tile installation affect not only the appearance of the building, but also its maintenance. This study aims to investigate stable tile installation by producing tile modules using the floating mortar method and conducting freeze-thaw tests to measure their adhesion strength. Test results showed that the adhesion strength increased as the mesh size decreased, except for S3 mesh. This study highlights the importance of research on tile installation to solve problems related to building appearance and maintenance.
