  • Currently, polymer-based tile cement (Thin-bed method) and epoxy adhesive (Thick-bed method) are mainly used as tile adhesive for polishing and porcelain. In the case of epoxy adhesive, there is a low economic efficiency, there is a problem that the work efficiency is reduced by mixing the resin and the hardener. In particular, the epoxy contains a bisphenol A and amine component, there is a risk of workable disease when a worker is exposed to odor and harmful gases generated in the epoxy adhesive for a long time. Against this background, it is necessary to analyze the hazards of using epoxy adhesives indoors, and develop cementitious high performance tile adhesive products with significantly lower hazards than epoxy adhesives.

  • In contemporary residential culture, apartment houses can form individual independent residential areas within narrow territory. By using various building materials compared to the past, apartment house is recognized as an aesthetic space by modern people. However, as the number of cases of tile defects in apartment complexes has surged recently, aesthetic factors and quality of life have been reduced, and hundreds of millions of defects have been charged to builders every year. The tile defects in the apartment complexes of 90 domestic complexes are cracked, lifted, damaged, and dropped off. Most of the tile defects are caused by poor construction, but the defect occurrence rate due to thermal stress mechanism is high. Therefore, this paper investigates the case of tile defects in apartment house and identifies the defects and examines the problems that should be improved to reduce the defects of tiles in the building interior.

Enhancing Freeze-Thaw Resilience in Adhered Mortar Tile Modules (떠붙임 모르타르 타일 모듈의 동결융해 저항성 평가)

  • The objective of this research was to engineer a tile module that could efficiently curtail the incidence of tile defects during the construction phase. To assess the potential diminution in defect manifestation, we executed experiments centered on surface condition, the variation in mass before and after the freeze-thaw test, and adhesive strength. Our findings demonstrated that thermal contraction and expansion induced a relatively escalated frequency of defects in the underwater setting for the aluminum mesh, while the steel mesh saw a higher defect incidence in the air environment. Additionally, it was noted that the adhesive strength exhibited a trend towards augmentation as the mesh size dwindled. Collectively, these results suggest that the employment of smaller mesh sizes can foster improved adhesive strength, consequently diminishing tile defects. Further exploration and development of the tile module, informed by these insights, can substantially enhance the efficacy of the construction process.

  • Recently, the size of tiles used for bathroom walls in apartment houses is gradually increasing in size. The problem is that when these large-sized tiles are attached by the sticking method, due to the nature of the method, there is a concern about the stability of the attachment to the part (pupil) where the tile and the adhesive are not attached. The problem is serious as it leads to lawsuits in the outbreak court. In addition, it is urgent to verify the adhesion stability of the sticking method because secondary damage occurs due to a safety accident caused by the falling of the tile. Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport [Investigation of defects in apartment houses, calculation of repair cost and defect determination criteria] ① The tile adhesion strength is 0.39N/mm2 or more and ② It is specified to fill 80% or more of the base area of the tile backside, but this is currently trendy. It is considered that large-sized tiles need to be verified from multiple angles, and as part of that, we intend to verify the adhesion stability according to the area to be attached to large-sized tiles.

  • Today, the conception of building architecture is changing the conception that it is a kind of product and the operator of construction try to produce excellent building through developing efficiency and materials of building component. This study improves the problematic point of the extenor tile setting, through making on experiment on the method of it and purposes doing to do the exterior tile setting of good quality as it selects out of the most conformable the method. The experimental materials choose the tile of 60$\times$108mm size which are using frequently in the exterior tile setting and mortar is made from sand of Han river and potland cement, which apply the volume mixing of the ratio 1:3. The water cement ratio (W/C)is made up 62% The methods of tile setting utilise the method of the tile setting and laying the method of the tile improved setting and laying, the method ol the pressing adhesion, the method of the improved pressing adhesion and the method of setting adherent (the method of VIBRATOR).

  • This study dealt with an experimental study on development of tile grout cement complied with international standards criteria. Tile Grout Cement is divided two grade, 1 type and 2 type, in KS F 1592:2011. International Standards(ISO) is divided 9 grade. performance evaluation for cement content was measured according to KS L ISO 13007. water absorption test results are based on the cement content 30% were satisfied with International Standards criteria. strength test results are based on the cement content 25% were satisfied with International Standards criteria.

  • In this study, flexural strength and tile adhesion strength were evaluated by using a mortar, dry mortar and an epoxy resin reinforced mortar to examine the adhesion performance by reinforcing the epoxy resin adhesive. As a result, it was clearly confirmed that the effect of improving the adhesion strength by reinforcing the epoxy resin adhesive regardless of the type of tile, and in particular, when applying the epoxy resin adhesive to the porcelain and polishing tiles, it is judged that sufficient adhesion performance can be secured.

  • Out of 412km long Kyung-bu high-speed railway, 302km was designed in tile form of either bridges or tunnels. Most of bridges were designed to be prestressed concrete box girder type. The precast span method was selected because of good quality of bridge section secured by factory manufacturing, fast construction speed, low construction cost with mechanized construction and the safety fur field workers. The precast span method has been mainly utilized in bridges consisted of repeated simple spans. However, we applied the precast span method to continuous bridge for high-speed railway Since it was the first attempt to apply ate precast span method to a continuous bridge for high-speed railway, many design and construction details were studied and implemented in the construction. Design and construction processes of a continuous bridge construction using tile precast span mettled are briefly described in this paper.
