  • The use of aluminum alloy parts in the automotive industry has been increasing recently due to its low weight compared with steel to improve fuel efficiency. Companies in the auto parts' manufacturing sector are expected to meet the government's strict environmental regulations. In this study, manufacturing process of aluminum alloy bolt has been designed from forming to heat treatment. Bolt forming process is composed of cold forging for body and rolling for thread. In this study only cold forging process is considered by employing the finite element method. In the cold forging process, preform shape was designed and damage value was considered for die design. Two steps of forging process has been developed by the simulation and a prototype was manugactured accordingly. As a final process, solution heat treatment and aging process was employed. A final prototype was found to meet the required specifications of tensile strength and dimension.

  • A parametric study of load distribution in bolt-nut joints is performed by the method of finite element contact analysis. The contacting surface is assumed unbonded and frictionless. Multi-body contact analysis is performed in elastic region under the assumption of axi-symmetric stress state. Load acting on the first thread from the fastened plate is much greater than that on the other threads in the standard setting. But the load distribution is shown to be improved by making the center of contact force acting on the nut surface move outwards. Such a modification is possible by enlarging the gap between bolt shank and fastened plate or by inserting suitable washers. Shape modification of the standard nut by the making a groove and a step on the nut surface is also suggested, which results in almost uniform load distribution and considerable decrease in the maximum stress of the joint.

  • Semiconductor equipment manufacturers desire to enhance efficiency of Sub Fab to increase semiconductor productivity. For this reason, Sub Fab equipment manufacturers are developing Integrated System that combined modules with multiple facilities. Integrated System is required to apply Mount Leveler of Wedge Type in compliance with weight increase compared with existing single equipment and product shape change. This thesis analyzes main design variables of components of Wedge Mount Leveler and carries out structure analysis using ANSYS, finite element analysis program Analysis shows that main design variables of components of Wedge Mount Leveler has self-locking condition by friction force of Wedge and adjusting bolt. Each friction force hinges upon Wedge angle and Friction Coefficient of contact surface and upon the thread angle and Friction Coefficient of contact surface. Also, as a result of carrying out structure analysis of Wedge Mount Leveler, deflection and stress appears in different depending on the height of the level.

  • Objective: This study compared the stability of cylindrical miniscrews (Cy, 7 mm in length) with that of tapered miniscrews (Ta, 5 mm in length), using torque values to determine if the healing time before loading affects the stability of the miniscrew and if the insertion torque is associated with the removal torque measured after a few weeks of healing. Methods: Ta and Cy with different thread lengths were placed in the tibias of 12 female New Zealand white rabbits (body weight: 3.0 - 3.5 kg), and the maximum insertion torque values (ITV) were measured. No orthodontic forces were applied so as to allow us to determine the pure effects of the different shapes. After 3 different healing periods (2, 4, and 6 weeks), maximum removal torque values (RTV) were measured immediately before the rabbits were sacrificed. Results: No miniscrews were loosened. There were no significant differences in ITV or RTV between the Ta and Cy nor were there any significant differences in the ITV and RTV between the 3 groups, which had different healing periods. There was a correlation between the ITV and RTV. Conclusions: Shorter Ta showed similar stability as Cy, as determined by torque values. This result strongly suggests that the tapered shape is more advantageous than the cylindrical shape. The RTV did not increase significantly over time. It is recommended that a miniscrew be loaded immediately; waiting a few weeks before loading should be avoided. The correlation between the ITV and RTV suggests that the ITV can be used to estimate a screw's future stability.

  • A scanning electron microscopic study on the glochidium and glochidial encystment of Anodonta arcaeformis on the host fish Carassius auratus was conducted. The shape of the glochidium was apparently subtriangular and its average size was $270\;{\mu}m\;\times\;260\;{\mu}m\;\times\;145\;{\mu}m$. The glochidial shell valves were of the same size, kept together by a ligament that is 50.4 ${\mu}m$ in length and 5.5 ${\mu}m$ in width. Each of the glochidial shell valve had a long hook studded with many spines on the superior face. A large area of at the apex of the valve surrounding the base of the hook was provided with numerous small spines which became progressively smaller toward the periphery of the area. The glochidial shell valve consisted of two layers. The mantle cells line the glochidial shell valves and some of hair cells were observed. A larval thread was 2.3 ${\mu}m$ in diameter. In the artificial infection of the glochidia to one of the natural hosts, Carassius auratus, it took about three to four hours to encyst the glochidia with epithelial cells of the fish fins. The encystment method was the cell migration from the neighboring epithelial cells.

  • An ultrastructural study on the mature spermatoBoa oi Cloptorchis sineitsis was carried out. For this study, the liver cukes were collected from the livers of rabbits and rats artificially infected with the metacercariae obtained from the fresh water fish, Pseudorasbora parve. Six-month old worms were used. The collected liver fiukes were washed with 0.85% saline solution and then immediately moved to cold 2% glutaraldehyde buffered with 0.1M Millonig's phosphate buffier (pH 7.4) . The materials were dissected into appropriate pieces in the fixative about 30 minutes after beginning of the fixation. Two hours later the materials containing the seminal receptacle were rinsed several times with the buffier and were secondarily fixed with cold, bugeyed 1% osmium tetroxide(OsO4) for 2 hours. The fully mixed tissue blocks Ivere dehydrated in a series of graded concentrations of acetone and were embedded in Epon 812 mixture. Thin sections obtained from LKB-5 ultramicrotome were stained with uranyl acetate and Reynold's lead citrate. Observations of the sections were carried out with JEM-100CX II electron microscope, In general, the mature sperm was long thread-like form with a sickle-shaped head. According to the longitudinal sectioned view of the sperm tail, the nucleus seemed to be spirally coiled and run a little far along the tail. The acrosome was not observed. The cytoplasm of the tail was biflagellated as usual in trematodes. Unlike other platyhelminth spermatozoa, the sperm tail of Clenorchis sinensis showed the ${\ulcorner}9+2{\lrcorner}$ in the microtubular arrangement. The mitochondria with poorly developed cristae were observed throughout the middle piece. The middle piece of the tail showed dull ladder or triangular shapes with the two flagella at the bottom. But, the principal piece of the tail was slightly flattened cylindrical shape with two aagella within the cytoplasm. The end piece was uniflagellated. It was not clearly identised whether the end piece was subdivided into two by aagellum or the lengths of the two aagella were different. The glycogen granules were rich in the cytoplasm throughout the lenght of the spermatozoa. These granules might be the energy source for the movement of the spermatosoa.

  • This paper is studied on the effect of the bolt joint stiffness on the Thrust Measurement Stand(TMS). TMS is a test stand for thrust performance of the propulsion system, which depends on two factors: The $1^{st}$ is the parallel degree between directions of the thrust vector and action lines of the corresponding measuring load cells for the vector, and the $2^{nd}$ is the orthogonality between action lines of the measuring load cells. Therefore, it is essential to maintain the original shape of the TMS under operating conditions. In this paper, it is examined how the geometric tolerance of the bolt joints and threads of the load cell trains affect the performance of the TMS. Also, some techniques to overcome related problems are proposed.

  • Under natural condition, many rivers had shallow and gently curved shape in plane. A two dimensional mathematical model of the flow was a very attractive one. The flow characteristics in bended open channels were analyzed. The mathematical model based on the mass and the momentum equation of the two-dimensional unsteady flow was developed by introducing finite difference method and the double sweep algorithm. For the purpose of the verification of this model, the modeling results were applied to the L.F.M flume and the I.I.H.R flume. The results had a good agreement with the experimental data of the flumes. The results could be more close to the experimental data by controlling Chezy Coefficients in order to reduce the effect of friction around side wall, and be studied the importance of the convective term. The water surface profile, the direction and scale of depth average mean velocity and the path of the thread of maximum velocity in bended open channels could be computed.

  • Currently, an EDM tapping procedure has comprised some parts of the engraving discharge process for the press die. Usually, tapping has been used in cases where we are unable to mechanically machine using steelwork processes due to an increase in the hardness of a material after heat treatment in relation to a design change or missing process. Here, we analyze the influence of discharge tap shape on discharge time, discharge current, and the number of repetition conditions when a cold-work tool steel (STD11) has been treated with a discharge tapped by a screw-shaped cu electrode. The most important influence on processing condition has been determined to be the number of discharge repetitions. As this number increases, the angle reduction of a thread closes to an angle of the electrode via a power generation reduction. The optimal combination of conditions has been determined to be three discharge repetitions, $180{\mu}s$ of discharge time (same as existing regulations), and 25.4A of peak current. A 0.2749db advantage has emerged after comparing between this combination of optimal conditions and the SN rate of existing regulations.
