  • Internet of Things technology is rapidly becoming a reality in many parts of our lives through various product services, and product development especially in the field of smart home is being actively carried out. Most controllers for controlling various smart home products use smart phone applications. However, smart phone applications are not suitable as smart home controllers, contrary to smart home services that emphasize intelligence and convenience. In order to provide intelligent smart home service, intuitive form of smart home controller is needed, which enables integrated control of smart home device. Therefore, this paper proposes a smart home remote control that can control the Internet devices and services of objects. The proposed smart home remote control provides an environment where users can build a smart home service through the IFTTT(If This Then That) automated service platform.

  • With the broad adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) in a variety of scenarios and application services, management and orchestration entities require upgrading the traditional architecture and develop intelligent models with ultra-reliable methods. In a heterogeneous network environment, mission-critical IoT applications are significant to consider. With erroneous priorities and high failure rates, catastrophic losses in terms of human lives, great business assets, and privacy leakage will occur in emergent scenarios. In this paper, an efficient resource slicing scheme for optimizing federated learning in software-defined IoT (SDIoT) is proposed. The decentralized support vector regression (SVR) based controllers predict the IoT slices via packet inspection data during peak hour central congestion to achieve a time-sensitive condition. In off-peak hour intervals, a centralized deep neural networks (DNN) model is used within computation-intensive aspects on fine-grained slicing and remodified decentralized controller outputs. With known slice and prioritization, federated learning communications iteratively process through the adjusted resources by virtual network functions forwarding graph (VNFFG) descriptor set up in software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) enabled architecture. To demonstrate the theoretical approach, Mininet emulator was conducted to evaluate between reference and proposed schemes by capturing the key Quality of Service (QoS) performance metrics.

  • This article shows a set of physical information fusion IoT systems that we designed for smart buildings. Its essence is a computer system that combines physical quantities in buildings with quantitative analysis and control. In the part of the Internet of Things, its mechanism is controlled by a monitoring system based on sensor networks and computer-based algorithms. Based on the design idea of the agent, we have realized human-machine interaction (HMI) and machine-machine interaction (MMI). Among them, HMI is realized through human-machine interaction, while MMI is realized through embedded computing, sensors, controllers, and execution. Device and wireless communication network. This article mainly focuses on the function of wireless sensor networks and MMI in environmental monitoring. This function plays a fundamental role in building security, environmental control, HVAC, and other smart building control systems. The article not only discusses various network applications and their implementation based on agent design but also demonstrates our collaborative information fusion strategy. This strategy can provide a stable incentive method for the system through collaborative information fusion when the sensor system is unstable in the physical measurements, thereby preventing system jitter and unstable response caused by uncertain disturbances and environmental factors. This article also gives the results of the system test. The results show that through the CPS interaction of HMI and MMI, the intelligent building IoT system can achieve comprehensive monitoring, thereby providing support and expansion for advanced automation management.

  • Web presence is one of the key issues for extensive deployment of Internet-of-Things (IoT). An obstacle to overcome for Web presence is relatively low computing power of IoT devices. In this paper, we present implementation of an IoT platform based on Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) which is a web transfer protocol proposed by Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for the low performance IoT devices such as Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) nodes and micro-controllers. To qualify the performance of CoAP-based IoT system for such an application as smart grid, we designed a test platform consisting of Raspberry Pi2, Kmote WSN node and a desktop PC. Using open source softwares, CoAP was implemented on top of the platform. Leveraging the GET command defined at CoAP specification, performance of the system was measured in terms of round-trip time (RTT) from web application to the Kmote sensor node. To investigate abnormal cases among the test results, hop-by-hop delays were measured to analyze resulting data. The average response time of CoAP-based communication except the abnormal data was reduced by 23% smaller than the previous research result.

  • Internet of Things (IOT) technology is rapidly becoming a reality in many parts of our lives through various products and services. Currently, the perception of Internet services for things is becoming common, and the B2C (Business to Consumer) market is explosively increasing as consumers are increasingly willing to purchase Internet devices. In particular, the economic effects of the Internet based smart home sector are known to be very large, and global manufacturers are launching various consumer oriented products based on smart home services. However, current smart home service products are closed systems because they provide independent devices for each manufacturer and provide only specific devices and services linked to them. There is a need for an environment that can provide intelligent smart home service through linkage between objects or services, and a controller that can provide smart control is needed. Therefore, this paper proposes a smart home remote control that can control the Internet devices and services of objects. The proposed smart home remote control provides an environment in which users can directly rescue services through the IFTTT automated service platform, which is an independent platform for each manufacturer.

  • IoT industry has been highlighted in the domestic and foreign country. Since most IoT systems operate separate servers in Internet to control IoT hardwares, there exists the possibility of security problems. Also, IoT systems in markets use their own hardware controllers and devices. As a result, there are many limitations in adding new sensors or devices and using applications to access hardware controllers. To solve these problems, we have developed a novel IoT hardware control system based on a mobile messenger. For the security, we have adopted a secure mobile messenger, Telegram, which has its own security protection. Also, it can improve the easy of the usage without any installation of specific applications. For the enhancement of the system accessibility, the proposed IoT system supports various network protocols. As a result, there are many possibility to include various functions in the system. Finally, our IoT system can analyze the collected information from sensors to provide useful information to the users. Through the experiment, we show that the proposed IoT system can perform well.

  • In this paper, four types of deposition control processes such as temperature, pressure, input/output(I/O), and gas were replaced by the Internet of Things(IoT) to analyze the data load and sequence procedure before and after the application of it. Through this analysis, we designed the load balancing in the sensing area of the deposition process by creating the sequence diagram of the deposition process. In order to do this, we were modeling of the sensor I/O according to the arrival process and derived the result of measuring the load of CPU and memory. As a result, it was confirmed that the reliability on the deposition processes were improved through performing some functions of the equipment controllers by the IoT. As confirmed through this paper, by applying the IoT to the deposition process, it is expected that the stability of the equipment will be improved by minimizing the load on the equipment controller even when the equipment is expanded.

  • As the 4th industrial revolution based on ICT is progressing in the manufacturing field, interest in building smart factories that can be flexible and customized according to customer demand is increasing. To this end, it is necessary to maximize the efficiency of factory by performing an automated process in real time through a network communication between engineers and equipment to be able to link the established IT system. It is also necessary to collect and store real-time data from heterogeneous facilities and to analyze and visualize a vast amount of data to utilize necessary information. Therefore, in this study, four types of controllers such as PLC, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and embedded system, which are generally used to build a smart factory that can connect technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and big data, are configured. This study was conducted for the development of a program that can collect and store data in real time to visualize and manage information. For communication verification by controller, data communication was implemented and verified with the data log in the program, and 3D monitoring was implemented and verified to check the process status such as planned quantity for each controller, actual quantity, production progress, operation rate, and defect rate.
