The physical and electrical characteristics of MgO and Pt thin-films on it deposited by reactive sputtering and rf magnetron sputtering respectively were analyzed with annealing temperature and time by four point probe SEM and XRD. Under annealing conditions of 100$0^{\circ}C$ and 2 hr, MgO thin-film had the properties of improving Pt adhesion to SiO$_2$and insulation without chemical reaction to Pt thin-film and the sheet resistivity and the resistivity of Pt thin-film deposited on it were 0.1288 Ω/ and 12.88 $\mu$$\Omega$.cm respectively. We made Pt resistance pattern on SiO$_2$/Si substrate by life-off method and fabricated Pt thin-film type microheater for thermal microsensors by Pt-wire Pt-paste and SOG(spin-on-glass). In the temperature range of 25~40$0^{\circ}C$ we estimated TCR(temperature coefficient of resistance) and resistance ratio of thin-film type Pt-RTD(resistance thermometer device). We obtained TCR value of 3927 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ close to the bulk Pt value. Resistance values were varied linearly within the range of the measurement temperature. The thermal characteristics of fabricated thin-films type Pt micorheater were analyzed with Pt-RTD integrated on the same substrate. The heating temperature of Pt microheater could be up to 40$0^{\circ}C$ with 1.5 watts of the heating power.
We proposed the bridge type superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) using switching operation of high-Tc superconducting(HTSC) thin film. The proposed bridge type SFCL consists of HTSC thin film, a diode bridge and a dc reactor. The controller for the operation of an interrupter is required in the conventional bridge type SFCL to prevent the continuous increase of fault current after a fault happens. On the other hand, the proposed bridge type SFCL can limit the fault current without the interrupter and the controller for its operation by the resistance generated when the gradually increased fault current exceeds HTSC thin film's critical current. We calculated the time when the gradually increased fault current started to be limited by the resistance generated in HTSC thin film after a fault happened and confirmed that it could be dependent on the amplitude of source voltage. The experimental results well agreed with the calculated ones from simulation.
We propose a novel nanomaterial-based pn diode which constructed with an n-type ZnO nanowire (NW) and a p-type HgTe nanoparticle (NP) thin film. The photo current characteristics of a ZnO NW, a HgTe NP thin film and pn diode constructed with a ZnO NW and a HgTe NP thin film were investigated under illumination of the 325 nm and 633 nm wavelength light. The conductivities of a ZnO NW exposed to the 325 nm and 633 nm wavelength light increased, while the photocurrents taken from the HgTe NP thin film was very close to the dark currents. Moreover, The pn diode exhibited the rectifying characteristics of the dark current and of the photocurrent excited by the 633 nm wavelength light. In contrast, the ohmic characteristics for the photocurrent were observed due to the junction barrier lowering in the conduction band of the ZnO nanowire under the illumination of the 325 nm wavelength light.
Copper-oxide (CuO) thin films were prepared by reactive sputtering of Cu onto Si wafers and characterized using a statistical design of experiments approach. The most significant factor in controlling the electrical resistivity and deposition rate was determined to be the $O_2$ fraction. The deposited CuO thin films were characterized in terms of their physical and chemical properties, using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and 4-point resistance measurements. The deposited copper thin films were characterized by XPS and XRD analyses to consist of $Cu^{2+}$. The CuO thin films of highest resistivity exhibited superior rectifying responses with regard to n-type Si wafers, with a current ratio of $3.8{\times}10^3$. These superior responses are believed to be associated with the formation of a charge-depletion region originating from the p-type CuO and n-type Si materials.
This paper describes the fabrication and characteristics of ceramic thin film type pressure sensors based on Ta-N strain gauges for high temperature applications. Ta-N thin-film strain gauges are deposited onto a thermally oxidized Si diaphragm by RF sputtering in an argon-nitrogen atmos[here($N_2$ gas ratio: 8%, annealing condition: 90$0^{\circ}C$, 1 hr.), patterned on a wheatstone bridge configuration, and used as pressure sensing elements with a high stability and a high gauge factor. The sensitivity is 1.097 ~ 1.21 mV/Vㆍkgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in the temperature range of 25 ~ 200 $^{\circ}C$ and the maximum non-linearity resistance), non-linearity than existing Si piezoresistive pressure sensors. The fabricated ceramic thin-film type pressure sensor is expected to be usefully applied as pressure and load sensors that os operable under high-temperature.
This study reveals the thin sheet metal process with multi-forming die that the name is progressive die, as a pilotless type, also high precision production part is made. They require analysis of many kinds of important factors, i.e. theory and practice of metal press working and its phenomena die structure, machining condition for die making, die material, heat treatment of die components, know-how and so on. In this study, we designed and constructed a multi-forming progressive die as a bending and drawing working of multi-stage and performed through the try out for thin sheet metal. Out of the characteristics of this paper that nothing might be ever seen before such as this type of research method on the all of processes of thin and high precision production part.
ZnO is a promising material for UV or blue LEDs p-Type ZnO thin films which are imperative for the p-n junction of LEDs are difficult to achieve because of strong compensation of intrinsic defects such as zinc interstitial and oxygen vacancy. The method of codoping group three elements and group five elements is effective for the realization of p-type ZnO films. In this study, We codoped N and Al m ZnO thin films by RF magnetron sputtering and annealed the films in sputtering chamber. Some films showed p-type conductivity m Seeback effect measurement.
The aim of the study is to scrutinize the relationship between the area of resonance and insertion loss by analyzing the characteristics of 2-port resonator. This was done through designing an air-gap type Film Bulk Acoustic Resonator (FBAR) by using CAD model for the application of bandpass filter of high-frequency band with piezoelectric thin film. Moreover, through the design of ladder-type BPF, we were able to observe changes in bandwidth, resonation, out-of-band rejection depending on the number and area of resonator.
We report the effect of the film thickness on electrical properties of Ti(N) film resistors. The applications of titanium nitride thin film resistor in $\Pi$-type attenuators are also characterized. As film thickness decreases from 100 to 30 nm, temperature coefficient of resistance significantly decreases from -60 to -148 ppm/K, while sheet resistance increases from 37 to $270\;{\Omega}/{\square}$. The characterizations of 20dB-attenuators using thin film resistors are improved in comparison with those using thick film resistors. The $\Pi$-type attenuators using Ti(N) thin film resistors exhibit a attenuation of -19.94 dB and voltage standing wave ratio of 1.16 at a frequency of 2.7 GHz.
A prerequisite for the development of graphene-based field effect transistors (FETs) is reliable control of the type and concentration of carriers in graphene. These parameters can be manipulated via the deposition of atoms, molecules, and polymers onto graphene as a result of charge transfer that takes place between the graphene and adsorbates. In this work, we demonstrate a unique and facile methodology for the homogenous and stable p-type doping of graphene by hybridization with ZnO thin films fabricated by MeV electron beam irradiation (MEBI) under ambient conditions. The formation of the ZnO/graphene hybrid nanostructure was attributed to MEBI-stimulated dissociation of zinc acetate dihydrate and a subsequent oxidation process. A ZnO thin film with an ultra-flat surface and uniform thickness was formed on graphene. We found that homogeneous and stable p-type doping was achieved by charge transfer from the graphene to the ZnO film.
