  • Effects of each acoustic property on absorption characteristics of polyester fiber materials has been studied in this paper. It would be impossible for us to measure effects of each acoustic property by experimental method since we cannot make sound-absorbing materials in which only one of the properties is changed. We have adopted a numerical prediction method to carry out parameter studies for each acoustic property. And to get a general behavior of acoustic performance of the materials, the numerical simulation has been repeated to several cases of different bulk density. Finally we have obtained frequency-dependent control factors in the absorption performance which gives us design capability of acoustic absorbing materials.

  • The objective of the Present study is to investigate the performance of electronic scale mitigation unit(ESMU), which reduces the amount of scale in a heat exchanger. A plate heat exchanger with 20 thermal plates is used for the tests. In order to accelerate the rate of fouling in a laboratory test artificial hard water of 2000 ppm(as $CaCO_3$) is recirculated at a flow rate 5L/min throughout the tests. The overall heat trans(or coefficients and fouling factors are examined. Results show that the ESMU technology can significantly reduce the scale deposits.

흰-관 열교환기에서 재료절감 흰의 제습특성 (Dehumidifying Performance of Material-Saving Fin in Fin-tube Heat Exchanger)

  • This work discusses the pressure droop, heat and mass transfer of the finned-tube heat exchangers having 7 mm tubes and offset strips in dehumidifying applications. It focuses on the fin material saving and the reduction of pressure drop. The experiment was conducted using three times scaled-up models to simulate the performance of the prototype. Eight kinds of fins having different strips and S shape edges were tested. the area density of the strip was a major factor and its shape and the location were secondary factors on the pressure drop, the heat and mass transfer. The reduced-area fin can almost equal the non-reduced fin in the aspect of heat and mass transfer. The strip fins proposed in the present work can considerably reduce both the pressure drop and the fin material for similar thermal load.

접이식 차양장치에 관한 이론적 연구 (A Theoretical Study on a Folding Shading Device)

  • The majority of fixed shading devices are installed in the exterior of a building in order to dissipate the heat absorbing from the sun and to prevent the direct sunlight. In designing external shading devices for windows, many requirements must be considered simultaneously; solar geometry, optimum energy performance, multi-purpose usage and design factors etc.. In order Lo satisfy these requirements, we suggests the folding shading device and its optimum design methodology. Also we analyzed the thermal performance using the IES_VE program according to various operating modes and compared with existing shading devices. The results show that proposed device reduce about $1.90{\sim}22.40%$ in cooling load and about $1.09{\sim}24.22%$ in heating load in comparison with existing ones.

  • This paper describes the design, fabrication, and measurement of ROIC(ReadOut Integrated Circuit) for $320{\times}256$ IRFPA(InfraRed Focal Plane Array). A ROIC plays an important role that transfer photocurrent generated in a detector device to thermal image system. Recently, the high performance and low power ROIC adding various functions is being required. According to this requirement, the design of ROIC focuses on 7MHz or more pixel rate, low power dissipation, anti-blooming, multi-channel output mode, image reversal, various windowing, and frame CDS(Correlated Double Sampling). The designed ROIC was fabricated using $0.6{\mu}m$ double-poly triple-metal Si CMOS process. ROIC function factors work normally, and the power dissipation of ROIC is 33mW and 90.5mW at 7.5MHz pixel rate in the 1-channel and 4-channel operation, respectively.

자연형 태양열시스템의 열성능해석 및 최적화 (Thermal Performance Analysis and Optimization of Passive Solar System)

  • 본 연구에서는 자연형 태양열 시스템의 하나인 축열벽형(Trombe Wall System)에 대한 전산해석을 수행하였다. 자연대류가 있는 2차원 정상상태 층류 해석모형을 설정하고, 상용 유동해석 프로그램인 PHOENICS를 이용하여 형상 변화가 성능에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 주된 인자인 통기구 넓이, 벽 간격, 통기구 위치에 따라 질량유속, 최고온도 등이 변하여 각각의 경우에 열활용율이 최대가 되는 조건이 있음을 보이고, 세가지 인자를 모두 고려한 더욱 정밀한 해석을 통하여 최적의 형상을 제시하였다.

  • In vector-controlled drive systems, the current measurement offset error causes unwanted torque ripple, resulting in speed and torque control performance degradation. The current measurement offset error is caused by various factors, including thermal drift. This study proposes a simple DC offset error compensation method for a surface permanent magnet motor based on a disturbance observer. The disturbance observer is designed in the stationary reference frame. The proposed method uses only the measured current and machine parameters without additional hardware. The effect of parameter variations is analyzed, and the performance of the current measurement offset error compensation method is validated using simulation and experimental results.

온돌의 연탄개스유량에 관한 연구(1) (함습저온열기류의 굴뚝통풍력) (Study on the Flow of Briquette Gas in the Ondol Heating System (Chimney Draft of Low Temperature Moist Air))

  • Natural draft and flow which low temperature moist gas produces in the chimney of an Ondol heating system were numerically analysed. Among several factors involved inlet gas temperature has the strongest influence on the chimney performance and then next specific humidity of the gas. Thermal conductivity of the chimney wall, however, has little influence on the performance of such a low temperature chimney. Under given flow conditions there exists an optimum chimney height which gives a maximum flow rate for a given chimney diameter. This optimum value of chimney height inereases with increase in chimney diameter, inlet gas temperature and specific humidity.

  • 일반적으로 산업현장에서 많이 사용되고 있는 단열재는 유리섬유와 같은 열전도도가 낮은 재료를 사용함으로써 단열성능을 확보하고 있다. 이와 달리 원전용 금속단열재의 경우 높은 열전도도를 가진 TP 304 스테인리스 박판을 재료로 한정하고 있어 단열성능을 확보하기 위해서는 구조적 측면에서의 접근이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 금속단열재 내부구조에 대한 설계인자를 전도, 대류, 복사로 구성된 3가지 열전달 모드를 고려해 추출하고 각 인자들이 열전달에 미치는 영향과 각각의 열전달이 전체 열전달에 차지하는 비율을 열 유동해석을 이용하여 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 단열재 내부에서 발생되는 대류현상을 최소화하기 위해 다수의 박판을 삽입함과 동시에 증가하는 전도 비율을 비교하여 내부형상결정을 위한 세 가지 열전달 모드 하에서의 단열성능을 분석하였다.

Flow Distributions in the Channel of Plate Heat Exchanger Applied in Vacuum Evaporating Distiller System

  • Nowadays Plate Heat Exchanger (PHE) is widely used in different industries such as chemical, food and pharmaceutical process and refrigeration due to the efficient heat transfer performance, extreme compact design and efficient use of the construction material. In present work, PHE is applied in the fresh water generator system. Fresh water generators or desalinators are installed in ship to convert seawater to fresh water using heat from engines. PHE is an important part of a condensing or evaporating system. Among many of factors which should be concentrated on, the heat transfer and pressure drop is most important parts during sizing and rating the performance of PHE. Flow maldistribution is common but it will significantly reduce the heat exchanger performance. In this paper provide a overview of PHE cover basic of theory and conduct a numerical approach for flow distribution in plate channel. An experimental study on the performance of fresh water generator system which developed by plate heat exchanger will presented in future research. Thus, extensive experiment and analysis is required to study the thermal and fluid flow characteristics of PHE.
