The purpose of this study is to analyze an insulation property and to establish a design standard for the underground space in architecture. Insulation materials for this study are 12 kinds of Insulation which qualified KS standards(3 classes of EPS type 1, 3 classes of EPS type 2(Neopor), 3 classes of XPS and 3 classes of PU Boards). For insulation materials of underground space, insulating and water tightening property are desired. So conductivity for insulating and water absorption for water tightening are measured in this study. Temperature, insulation is exposed to in the underground space, is different from temperature above the ground. Conductivity is measured in a temperature of $17^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, $23^{\circ}C$ and $26^{\circ}C$. In KS standards, water absorption are measure after 24 hours, but insulation is exposed to water for a long time in the underground. So after 110 days, water absorption are measured. As time goes by, increasing of water absorption means decreasing of water tightening and insulating. So after water absorption had measured for 110 days, conductivity has measured again. As a result, XPS is selected as optimized insulation for underground. And Conductivity of XPS insulation with water should be added by 20%.

IInsulation material is generally used for preventing heat loss from heat transport fluids, and water absorption severely reduces the insulation property. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the amount of water absorption supplied by the pouring method and spraying method, to investigate the effects of water absorption on the thermal conductivity of an insulation material, and modeling the relation between water absorption and thermal conductivity. E-glass, a kind of glass fiber, and HYPERLITE, mainly composed of pearlite, are selected, to compare hygroscopic and insulation properties. E-glass is found to have much higher water absorptivity, compared to HYPERLITE. The thermal conductivity of the water-absorbed E-glass is increased by more than 150%, compared to that of no absorption, while variation of the thermal conductivity of HYPERLITE with water absorption is insignificant. A three-stage model of water absorption for thermal conductivity is developed, and the modeling results are found to be in good agreement with the experimental data.

This study investigates thermal insulation properties of multi layer materials depending on thickness of air layers. Numerical analysis on the heat flow of different insulating materials was conducted to identify whether their temperature distributions demonstrate the reduced rate of heat transfer conclusively or not. Analytical model is divided into two categories. One is to distinguish temperature distribution of the air-layer materials from the non-air layer ones. The other is to compare the efficacy between eight-layered insulating materials with no air-layer contained and three-layered insulating materials which include an air-layer definitely. In the latter case, the identical thickness is assigned to each material. The effect of thermal insulation by including an air-layer is verified in the first analytical model. The result of the second model shows that the insulation of the eight-layered materials is coterminous at the three-layered ones with an air-layer and the thermal insulation of the two materials is imperceptible. The benefits of cost and energy saving are anticipated if air-layers are efficiently incorporated in multi layer insulating materials in a greenhouse.
20% of total energy use to sustain temperature of building inside. In this reasons, researchers effort to improve the thermal insulation capacity with new wall system. Using appropriate materials and consisting new wall system should considered in energy saving design. OSB(Oriented strand board), Larch lining board used to consist wall system. $2{\sim}6$ Larch lining board has tongue & groove shape for preventing moisture. Comparing with gypsum board and green timber lining board as interior sheathing material, temperature difference of Green timber wall system was bigger than temperature difference of gypsum board wall system. This aspects indicate that Green timber wall system was revealed higher thermal insulation property than gypsum board wall system. Gypsum board portion transfer heat easily because temperature difference gradient of gypsum board wall system was smaller than OSB wall system. Total temperature variation shape of G-4-S and G-6-S show similar model but, temperature variation shape in green timber wall portion assume a new aspect. The purpose of this study was that possibility of thermal insulation variation and new composition of wall system identify to improve thermal insulation performance. In the temperature case, this study shows possibility of improving thermal insulation performance. Humidity, sunshine and wind etc. should considered to determine building adiabatic properties.
Recently, some major environmental problems are the increase of fossil fuel price and $CO_2$ emission. To solve these problems, it is imperative to develop eco-friendly techniques and to reduce energy consumption in apartment complexes. Therefore, an effective system for insulation needs to be developed to reduce energy consumption. This study compares thermal characteristics between general insulation and super insulation Vacuum Panel, which is thinner and has more insulation efficiency.

As part of recent low-energy policies, thermal insulation standards for buildings are being tightened every year. The importance of external insulation methods is increasing due to the strengthening of insulation standards. Among the main materials used in the external insulation method, dry bit material is a finishing material composed of an organic binder and aggregate. When the fire occurs, the ignition of the surface part causes a direct fire on the thermal insulation material at the rear side when heat energy is concentrated. Therefore, it is important that the finishing material in dry insulation using a dry bit has a low fire spreading property in case of a fire and does not have a sustained combustion. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the fire spreadability by changing the internal fillers while using alkoxide-based acrylic emulsions, hybrid acrylic emulsions, and general acrylic emulsions in order to suppress the fire spreading properties of exterior finish materials.

The lightweight foamed concrete is superior to properties of insulation and light-weight because it is included in many inner pore. So, lightweight foamed concrete used to construction field that need to property of insulation. The property of insulation of lightweight foamed concrete is varied with density. Also, Density is varied with hardening matrix and pore rate. The purpose of the experiment is to know thermal properties of specimen according to the change of density when heating the specimen. As a result of this experiment, the higher density, the lower temperature of mold. this tendency isn't same as ordinary lightweight foamed concrete, and then density 0.9 is expressed most low temperature result also the discontinuity of shape of mold was efficient for the prevention of the temperature rise.

Consumer and property evaluation of wetsuit materials were conducted to obtain useful data for developing competitive products that meet consumer expectations and improving industrial competitiveness. Data were collected through online surveys of 213 domestic consumers who have experienced wearing wetsuit among marine leisure activities. Five types of commercial wet suit materials by brand and four types of commercial wet suit materials with the same quality by thickness were collected. Then, their physical properties, salt water resistance and thermal insulation rate were evaluated and compared. As a result, the most commonly used wetsuit material is 3 to 5 mm thick, and the basic jersey material is bonded on both sides. As a processing for imparting functionality, processing for improving warmth and reducing surface resistance are most frequently used. Consumers often feel uncomfortable when wearing a wetsuit, such as wearing comfort, weight, ease of movement, stretchability, and clothing pressure, which are different from those of casual wear. Also, mechanical strength and warmth were considered to be the most important criteria for selection of wetsuit material for purchase or rental. The mechanical properties of brand A and B were better than those of brand C, D, and E. Resilience and thermal shrinkage were better in brand C, D, and E. On the other hand, there was no significant difference in the physical properties due to the difference in thickness of the material at the same quality. Also, it was found that the thicker the material, the more stable it is in the heat. Brand A and B had superior salt water resistance than brand C, D, and E. In the thermal insulation test, brand A and B showed better insulation characteristics than brand C, D, and E, but the types of bonded fabric and surface finishing of materials were thought to have affected. In comparison of the thickness, the thicker the materials, the better the salt resistance and the thermal insulation.
This study focused on manufacturing an inorganic insulation material set with various amounts of calcium-sulfoaluminate (CSA) (hauyne) content for enhancing both workability (demolding, handling) and the high thermal insulating property. To carry out the experiment, the amounts of CSA utilized were 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%, with anhydrous gypsum added in equal proportion to produce a stable formation. As the content of CSA increased, a sinking phenomenon occurred because of the hydration reaction from the slurry, so it was difficult to utilize a retarder normally used in the cement manufacturing process. However, an RCOOM surfactant was able to solve the local clumping problem from cement and CSA and obtain a rapid retarding effect, so it was included in this process at 0.3%. Furthermore, the cement fineness was not 7000 ㎠/g but rather 3300 ~ 4000 ㎠/g to prevent a rapid temperature increase in the slurry. The specific gravity of the sample manufactured with 20% CSA was approximately 0.11 g/㎤, and its thermal conductivity was 0.041 W/m·K, providing an excellent insulating property.

A large number of studies on the various characteristics of epoxy-layered silicate nanocomposites, such as electric and mechanical, morphology have been conducted and contributed to improve their characteristics. However, studies on the effects of its thermal conductivities in the thermal properties are not enough, even though there are some excellent evaluations for its insulation performances. Thermal properties will cause thermal degradation and significantly affect the reliability of these epoxy-layered silicate nanocomposites. In the results of the analysis of epoxy-layered silicate nanocomposites $T_g$ for various types of organoclays (10A, 15A, 20A, 30B, and 93A), it showed an excellent thermal property of 10A. Also, it represented low values in storage modulus and mechanical Tan (Delta) at a high temperature section 140$^{\circ}C$ and excellent thermal properties due to its movement to the high temperature section in the case of the property of 10A in the measurement of DMA elastics and mechanical losses. In the results of the measurement of thermal conductivities, power ultrasonic applications represented a significant increase in thermal conductivities in the case of the applications of power ultrasonic and planetary centrifugal mixers. Based on these results, it is necessary to perform related studies because it can be applied as useful materials for future power facilities applications in mold and impregnate insulation.
