Design of the Medical Thermal Array Printer Module Based on Microcontroller (마이크로 콘트롤러를 이용한 의료용 열전식 프린터 모듈의 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes design techniques of general purpose thermal array printer, especially easily applicable to medical measurement equipment. The'general'means that the proposed thermal array printer can be applied to not only medical field but other industrial field by establishing the eligible protocol. The thermal array printer is composed of i)MPU and its peripherals ii)printer head control, iii)diverse protection circuits, and iv)serial communication. In this paper the performance of the proposed thermal array printer was evaluated by applying to an 3 channel electrocardiogram recorder. The propped system can support'Hangul'text as well as alphanumeric characters and any bitmap image.

  • In this paper, We design a RF control system capable of handling multiple POS thermal printers. The system has three parts including embedded master controller, RF controller and high-speed thermal printer. Specially the designed linux embedded controller has simple structure and high performance to connect the TCP/IP network. The effectiveness of the developed RF control system is shown by proposed food ordering system.

  • Thermal flows inside a laser printer are affected by generated heat from a fuser and boards. Thus, the effect of fans has been investigated to control the thermal flows and behaviors of toners. In order to analyze the phenomena experimentally, a PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) has been used, and then the flow inside the printer has been predicted by the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) in this study to determine the efficient flow distribution by an optimum design of the printer. The determined optimum design has been confirmed by the developed PIV technique so that the efficiency of the laser printer can be improved by the proposed design.

  • In this paper, development of Thermal Printer Head(TPH) controller by using gate array having high reliability and good performance is proposed. Over the 3000 gates are performed to control print image data signals and relative peripheral hardwares. The proposed gate array has TPH control circuit, print control and step motor drive, and print image data control, decoder output control parts. This TPH controller will be a good application to FAX or label printer and barcode printers.

Observation of thermal properties of dental 3D printer materials (치과용 DLP 3D Printer 가공체의 열특성 관찰)

  • Purpose: In this study, thermal properties were observed by measuring the extent of thermal expansion and the amount of thermal residue that appears upon burnout on a workpiece made by using a dental digital light processing (DLP) three-dimensional (3D) printer. Methods: Thermal properties of workpieces manufactured by using two 3D printers were observed. The specimens were designed in cylindrical form with dimensions 10 mm in diameter and 10 mm in height. The control specimen was made of wax, and the experimental specimen was made of resin. The thermal expansion rate was measured by applying heat to three types of specimens, and burnout residue was measured. Results: The thermal expansion rate of the wax pattern (WP) specimen was 0.93%±0.05%, of the RP1 specimen was 1.30%±0.08%, and of the RP2 specimen was 1.20%±0.09%. Measuring the recovered residue yielded residual amounts of 0.2% for the WP specimen, 1.1% for the RP2 specimen, and 1.8% for the RP1 specimen. Conclusion: 1. From measurements of the workpieces manufactured by dental DLP 3D printing, the thermal expansion rate was found to be higher than that of wax. 2. As a result of measuring burnout residues on the workpieces manufactured by dental DLP 3D printing, the required summoning temperature to obtain suitable castings was determined to >750℃.

  • Thermal performance of fusing system in laser printer is determined by FPOT(First print out time) required and toner fusing quality. FPOT is influenced by the thermal resistance of fusing system between heat source and nip region. Also FPOT is depended by the heat source power and toner fusing temperature. The fusing quality of toner is decided by the temperature, pressure and duration time in nip region. In this study, I have performed thermal analysis for the toner fusing system. Computational simulation has been used to understand the effect of heat source power and printing speed etc. on the temperature distribution of the fusing system. Also in order to predict fusing quality, numerical simulation of the process that paper is continuously supplied to the nip regions were performed. In comparison with the experimental results of the fusing quality vs transferred calory to the toner layer, I could evaluate various fusing condition parameters effected on the thermal performance.

  • Developer roller of laser printer cartridge made with magnetic substance and density of magnetic flux was decreased with the elapse of a year. Owing to this reason, quality of printing was decreased with decreasing of magnetic flux. This study investigated about the elapse of a year of magnetic substance and possible about usage of recycling production.

  • The system realization for printimage enhancement of electrothermal printer using thermal historic management is presented. The thermal historic control technique reduces the blur that the high density thermal print head(TPH) and high speed printing in the 300dpi high is increased edge blur of printed image. The experiment result is that the system enhance the quality of print image.
