$CH_4/Air-CO_2$ 대향류 확산화염의 NOx 생성 특성 및 화염구조 (NOx Formation and Flame Structure in $CH_4/Air-CO_2$ Counterflow Diffusion Flames)

  • Numerical study with detailed chemistry has been conducted to investigate the NOx formation and structure in $CH_4/Air-CO_2$ counterflow diffusion flames. The importance of radiation effect is identified and the role of $CO_2$ addition is addressed to thermal and chemical reaction effects, which can be precisely specified through the introduction of an imaginary species. Also NO separation technique is utilized to distinguish the contribution of thermal and prompt NO formation mechanisms. The results are as follows : The radiation effect is dominant at low strain rates and it is intensified by $CO_2$ addition. Thermal effect mainly contributes to the changes in flame structure and the amount of NO formation but the chemical reaction effect also cannot be neglected. It is noted that flame structure is changed considerably due to the addition of $CO_2$ in such a manner that the path of methane oxidation prefers to take $CH_4 {\rightarrow}CH_3{\rightarrow}C_2H_6{\rightarrow}C_2H_5$ instead of $CH_4 {\rightarrow}CH_3{\rightarrow}CH_2{\rightarrow}CH$. At low strain rate(a=10) the reduction of thermal NO is dominant with respect to reduction rate, but that of prompt NO is dominant with respect to total amount.

금속파티클-$Al_2O_3$ hybrid 반응기의 NOx 제거에 미치는 유전체 영향 (Effect of dielectrics on NOx removal of Metal particle-$Al_2O_3$ hybrid type reactor)

  • In this paper, we made different types of non-thermal plasma reactors such as Metal-particle reactor with $Al_2O_3$ to measure NOx removal characteristic and the dielectric effect for NOx removal. NOx removal rate is not so good when we use just dielectric of $Al_2O_3$ at the Metal-particle reactor, also we just put sludge pellets(100%) without Metal-particle reactor with $Al_2O_3$ and dielectric such as $TiO_2$, $BaTiO_3$ to measure the effect of sludge for NOx removal so that NOx removal rate is almost the same. However NOx removal rate is more than 90% in case of the reactor of composition shape used both dielectric of $Al_2O_3$ and sludge pellets at the same time. In case of the shape of plasma reactor with dielectric, the Metal-particle reactor with $Al_2O_3$, and the metal-particle reactor with both $Al_2O_3$ and dielectric such as $TiO_2$, $BaTiO_3$ at the same time, they are almost the same effect for NOx removal, so we made MNPR(Metal-particle Non-thermal Plasma Reactor with $Al_2O_3$) to reduce these kinds of demerits. Finally, we think MNPR should be much better than other reactors for NOx removal.

  • This paper provides a review of the status and of the perspectives of advanced catalytic combustion for ultra clean combustion of gas turbines and for industrial combustors. The development of catalytic materials and their combustion techniques for gas turbines are briefly reported. The fuel-rich approaches to catalytic combustion are mentioned for a new technology of thermal- and fuel-NOx control. The fuel-rich catalytic combustion are also applicable to the combustor of ceramic gas turbine, and to the combustion of biomess and municipal waste sludge. Some extended technologies of combustion synthesis are introduced for the synthesis of carbon nanotube and of Perovskite combustion catalysts

Vanadia SCR의 열적 열화에 따른 조촉매의 영향 (The Effect of Additive Catalyst according to Thermal Aging of Vanadia SCR)

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of additive catalyst according to the thermal aging of vanadia SCR catalysts. At a fresh condition, the $3V_2O_5-5WO_5-92TiO_2$ SCR showed the highest NOx conversion rate of about 30%, the performance of 5 kinds of SCR to which additive catalysts were added was not improved due to the insignificant effect of acid site control. For catalysts aged for 12h at $700^{\circ}C$, the SCR to which 3wt% Zeolite was added decreased in NOx conversion rate by 2.5% on average compared to the fresh SCR, it showed higher thermal durability than other additive catalyst. For 3Zeolite with high performance of NOx conversion rate during thermal aging, the Zeolite with stronger durability at a high temperature than other 5 kinds of SCR catalysts decreased the sintering of catalysts.

  • NOx from the thermal power plants are NO and $NO_2$. This work investigated the chemical/physical characteristics and SCR efficiency of newly prepared catalysts including tungsten ($WO_3$), molybdenum ($MoO_3$) and antimony ($SbO_3$) based on vanadia($V_2O_5$) over titania($TiO_2$). As a result of the examination, the surface area of the catalysts promoted with additional metals was larger and the de-NOx efficiency also was enhanced with temperature. The most efficient catalytst was $V_2O_5/TiO_2-WO_3$(10%) at $200^{\circ}C$. Such a high efficiency could contribute to reduce the ammonia slip.

  • 대부분을 수입에 의존하고 있는 연료의 연소효율 증대, thermal NOx의 배출 저감은 화염특성 감지 및 분석을 통해서도 가능하다. 연소시스템에서 화영의 flicker에 대한 정보를 퓨리어 변환을 통해 frequency domain data 로 변환시켜 해석한 결과, 일반적으로 연소 영역의 난류강도가 커질수록 frequency와 강도는 커졌으며, 화염의 강도는 연료 공급 유량이 커질수록 항께 커졌다. 선회도가 $0{\sim}1.16$ 범위에서 커질 때, 화염의 강도는 작아졌다. 시험 연소로의 관찰구를 통하여 얻은 신호는 화염유무에 따라 그 차이가 매우 커서 화염의 존재 유무를 쉽게 알 수 있었다. 발생되는 NOx의 양은 화염강도와 밀접한 관계가 있음을 보여주었다.

  • 많은 산업체들은 현재 연소기의 열효율을 증가시키기 위해 노력하고 있으며, 증가되는 NOx 발생으로 환경적인 규제에 직면하고 있다. 우리는 이렇게 열효율 증가와 NOx 발생 감소를 동시에 해결할 수 있도록 새로운 방법을 연구하였다. 이 새로운 개념은 확실히 NOx와 같은 오염물질을 절감시키며, 동시에 반경방향 열전달을 증가시키는 것으로 알려져 있고 이를 세차제트 연소기라고 부른다. 이러한 세차제트 노즐의 특징은 가스터빈의 연소효율의 증가로 이어질 수 있을 것이다. 기본적인 세차제트 노즐에 대한 특설파악을 위해 FLUENT를 이용한 수치해석, 레이저를 이용한 가시화 시험을 진행하였고, 노즐단면에서의 속도분포를 다른 논문의 실험결과와 비교하였다. Centerbody가 있는 경우 세차현상이 잘 일어났고 노즐 출구에서의 확산각이 증가함을 확인하였다.

린번 천연가스자동차용 NOx 흡장촉매의 열화특성 (Aging Characteristics of NOx Storage and Reduction Catalyst for Lean-bum Natural Gas Vehicles)

  • This study investigates the aging characteristics of NOx storage and reduction(NSR) catalyst on the emission conditions of lean burn natural gas vehicles. We designed various NSR catalysts using by the double-layer washcoat technology to increase of a surface area and a thermal durability performance of the catalysts. The experiments were conducted with 3 kinds of the NSR catalysts, which were manufactured using by a honeycomb cordierite substrate. It was found that Ba is weak in the thermal aging because it has lower melting temperature than that of precious metals (PMs). The suitable loading amount of Ba in this study should be about 42 g/L from the results of the NOx adsorption and the NOx reduction efficiency. The major reason in deactivation of the NSR catalyst is the decrease of the adsorption site owing to the agglomeration and sintering of Ba rather than PM aging by hydrothermal aging. It was confirmed by results of BET, SEM and TEM.
