Background: It is well known that the distribution of therapeutic materials is very complex. However, it is not easy to demonstrate the concrete problems caused by distribution channels empirically. The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in the price of therapeutic materials according to the type of purchasing agency and the way in which medical institutions purchase therapeutic materials. Methods: This study compared the claimed prices and the maximum allowable prices for the items of therapeutic material used for general spinal surgery. Results: Ilsan Hospital, which purchased directly without a purchasing agent, had the lowest claimed prices, followed by a large professional purchasing agency, a foundation-related purchasing agency, and a general purchasing agency. In addition, the difference between the claimed prices and the maximum allowable prices according to the purchase type was larger in the expensive treatment materials, and in the case of the lower price treatment materials, it tended to converge to the maximum allowable prices. Conclusion: National health insurance spending for therapeutic materials are to be affected by the distribution channels of them. We proposed several ideas to rationalize the expenditure such as classification of therapeutic materials on the basis of price or other criteria.
Purpose: This study was conducted to explore the mediating effect of resilience in the relationship between stress and therapeutic compliance in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. Methods: The subject (N=145) was a systemic lupus erythematosus patient who visited the D Hospital in B city. Data collection was conducted from January 2016 to August 2016. Twenty-five resilience measurement tools, 20 stress measurement tools, 39 therapeutic compliance measurement tools used to measure resilience, stress and therapeutic compliance levels. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation, 3-step regression analysis of Baron and Kenny, and Sobel test in SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: There was a significant negative correlation between stress and therapeutic compliance, a significant negative correlation between stress and resilience, and significant positive correlation between resilience and therapeutic compliance. Resilience showed a direct effect on therapeutic compliance through stress as a mediating variable. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop appropriate resilience enhancement program to improve therapeutic compliance with systemic lupus erythematosus.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of the exercise on elderly balance ability by using hippotherapy and therapeutic ball exercise. 10 patients were assigned to the hippotherapy group and they got with 30 minutes of hippotherapy. Another 10 elderly were assigned to the therapeutic ball group and they got with 30 minutes of therapeutic ball exercise. All procedures were repeated 5 times a week for the total of four weeks. To investigate the participants balancing abilities, the Time" Up & Go"(TUG) and One Leg Stand Test(OLST) were evaluated. The results of study were significant differences between pre-test and post-test of TUG and OLST(p<.05), and there were no significant differences between hippotherapy and therapeutic ball exercise(p>.05). The conclusion showed that both the hippotherapy and the therapeutic ball exercises were effective on elderly balancing ability. Consequently, it would be better to practice therapeutic ball than hippotherapy for elderly exercise because the more economical and there is less restriction of space than the hippotherapy.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of retail therapy (RT) values and the role of body consciousness on therapeutic shopping motivations and outcomes. In order to accomplish our research aim, we investigated therapeutic shopping values (i.e., positive mood reinforcement and negative mood reduction) and the moderating effects of body surveillance, body shame, and weight preoccupation. A total of 247 female college students in the United States participated in an online Qualtrics survey, and structural equation modeling (SEM) and multigroup analysis were performed to analyze the data. The findings reveal that therapeutic shopping values (positive mood reinforcement and negative mood reduction) significantly influence therapeutic shopping motivation. Therapeutic shopping motivation, in turn, positively influences therapeutic shopping outcomes. Moreover, weight preoccupation moderates the relationship between negative mood reduction and therapeutic shopping motivation, suggesting that RT should especially be utilized for weight-conscious individuals. The results can be utilized for retailers to develop marketing strategies for consumers who are conscious about their appearance. Academic and managerial implications, along with future research, are suggested.
Background: In some clinical guidelines followed in clinical practice, nonsurgical treatments are recommended as the primary intervention for patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH). However, the effect of a therapeutic exercise program based on stabilization of the lumbar spine for treatment of multilevel LDH has not been evaluated thoroughly. Objective: To investigate the effects of therapeutic exercise on pain, physical function, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings in a patient with multilevel LDH. Design: Case Report Methods: A 43-year-old female presented with low back pain, radicular pain and multilevel LDH (L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1). The therapeutic exercise program was conducted. in 40-min sessions, three times a week, for 12 weeks. Low back and radicular pain, lumbar disability, and physical function were measured before and after 6 and 12 weeks of the exercise program. MRI was performed before and after 12 weeks of the program. Results: After 6 and 12 weeks of the therapeutic exercise, low back and radicular pain and lumbar disability had decreased, and lumbar range of motion (ROM) was improved bilaterally, compared with the initial values. Also improved at 6 and 12 weeks were isometric lumbar strength and endurance, and the functional movement screen score. The size of disc herniations was decreased on MRI obtained after 12 weeks of therapeutic exercise than on the pre-exercise images. Conclusions: We observed that therapeutic exercise program improved spinal ROM, muscle strength, functional capacity, and size of disc herniation in LDH patient.
PURPOSE: This study was conducted to determine the effects of therapeutic exercise on range of motion (ROM), the manual muscle test (MMT), functional movement screen (FMS) and radiological evaluation in a youth football player with football-specific anterior pelvic tilt (APT). METHODS: The subject of this case report was a 12-year-old youth football player, who presented with football-specific APT. Therapeutic exercise consisted of hamstring stretch, prone hip extension, abdominal crunch, bridging with isometric hip abduction, plank exercise with posterior tilt and posterior pelvic tilting exercise using a swiss-ball for 40 min/day, twice a week for 8-weeks. ROM, MMT, FMS (deep squat, hurdle step, inline lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight-leg raise, rotary stability and trunk stability push-up) and radiographs (lumbar lordotic and sacral horizontal angle) were analyzed before and after week 8 of therapeutic exercise. RESULTS: The ROM, MMT, and FMS increased and the lumbar lordotic angle and sacral horizontal angle improved after 8-weeks of therapeutic exercise. CONCLUSION: The results of this case report suggest that therapeutic exercise improves ROM, MMT and radiography associated parameters in youth football players with football-specific APT. These findings have clinical implications for therapeutic exercise in youth football players with football-specific APT.
Objectives : In this study, the treatment method for some college students, due to the misuse of non-therapeutic molding technique non-therapeutic procedure is applied in orthodontics or jaw surgery and therapeutic purposes, such as to properly recognize and to investigate whether. Methods : In this study used, 4 questions, the questionnaire general characteristics (such as gender, major, whether the treatment experience and purpose) Orthodontic and knowledge about the jaw surgery (Corrective jaw surgery hope and reason, or jaw surgery benefits, side effects, etc.) 6 items, calibration and recognition jaw surgery on seven items 17 items was constructed. Results : Of the perception of the majors of the respondents according to the presence or absence of a non-therapeutic procedure for calibration or jaw surgery the correct way, and the purpose appeared to know roughly majors and all students majoring statistically significant (p<.001). The degree of recognition for non-therapeutic procedures according to the gender of the respondents' facial aesthetic improvement, and the most common reason, you want to make a non-therapeutic procedure, correction or contrast, I've found that looks supremacist influence on the non-therapeutic procedure or roughly know the correct way, and jaw surgery for the purpose that appeared to be statistically significant (p<.05). Conclusions : Non-therapeutic procedure for the interest and knowledge to promote oral health as well as esthetic improvements to the original non-therapeutic procedure for therapeutic purposes and how to deliver education and it is very important.
Background: The use of therapeutic materials based on new health technology has increased in recent years in the field of medicine, raising concerns for medical practitioners regarding increased spending on the new therapeutic materials amid the rapid population ageing and increase of chronic diseases in Korea. While therapeutic materials have significant importance in the health care system, they have not been given appropriate attention in the academic world of Korea. The purpose of this study is to identify factors that affect the growth of expenditure on therapeutic materials and to derive implications for an effective management considering the diversity of therapeutic materials. Methods: Using the claims data of the National Health Insurance Services, specific utilization patterns of groups of therapeutic materials in the middle classification level of Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service from 2007 to 2014 were analyzed. Four categories (J5083: drug eluting coronary stent, D0302: nonmetallic anchor, K6014: gauze, K6023: gauze) that exhibit unique patterns with respect to price and volume were selected. Then, decomposition analysis was performed to identify the largest contributor to the spending growth by dividing the products into existing, new, and abandoned products for the period between 2010 and 2013. Results: The effect of new products had larger impact on spending growth than the effect of core items in drug eluting coronary stent (J5083) and nonmetallic anchor (D0302). In addition, existing products in general included items priced relatively lower when compared with another item manufactured by the same company. In the gauze category, however, existing products had the largest impact on expenditure and the effect of volume was greater than that in other categories. Conclusion: This study provides evidence that appropriate management measures classified by the characteristics of therapeutic materials are required for therapeutic materials pricing and reassessment in Korea.

Anti-cancer and therapeutic effects using therapeutic radioisotopes have been demonstrated by various studies, and it is well-known that therapeutic radioisotopes are useful in cancer treatment. Recently, one of the therapeutic radioisotopes, scandium is emerging as a radioisotope applicable to PET imaging (43Sc, 44Sc) and therapy (47Sc) in cancer theranostic approach. However, 47Sc has little known radiobiological and therapeutic efficacy compared to other therapeutic radioisotopes. Here, we investigated the quality and therapeutic efficacy of 47Sc radioisotope produced by our production/isolation technology at the research reactor 'HANARO' in KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute). We showed that the therapeutic efficacy of 47Sc, produced by our production/isolation technology, effectively suppressed epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-targeted non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. Consequently, these results suggest that the high quality of the produced 47Sc by our production/isolation technology enables the development of therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment and radiopharmaceuticals using 47Sc.
