Development the Nursing Productivity Conceptual Framework (간호생산성 개념틀 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study was performed to develop the conceptual framework of the nursing productivity. The study efforts were made (1) to define the concept the nursing productivity, (2) to identify the elements of the productivity, and (3) to determine the relationship among the elements. With the aim, the study employed a descriptive analysis by way of reviewing various references related w the subject. The nursing productivity consists of such elements as the nursing efficiency and Lhe nursing effectiveness which are complememary Lo each other. The nursing efficiency is the quantative input/output ratio, while the nursing effectiveness represents the integrated outcome of sch sub-elements as the degree of accomplishing nursing goals, the quality of nursing service, consumer's satisfaction, and the degree of improvement of nurse's attitude toward the quality care. The nursing prodiccivity can be estimated by summing up the nursing efficiency and the effectiveness. By employing the system theory model, the elements of the nursing producTivity consist of three elements; the input, the process, and the output. By the process elements, the system inputs are transformed to the system outputs nursing efficiency and nursing effecitveness which are input 1.0 the system, in turn, through feedback mechanism(Figure 4).

Productivity Growth of Vietnamese Commercial Banks: An Application of Non-Parametric Analysis

  • The purpose of the research to evaluate the efficiency and productivity growth rate of some Vietnamese commercial banks in the period 2008-2020. Using input and output selection theory, the author selected 2 models, estimating the efficiency for model 1 and estimating the yield change for both the models. We have built a model to estimate the efficiency and calculate as well as decompose the productivity growth of Vietnamese commercial banks during the period of active mergers and acquisitions activities in the banking system. Based on the results of the efficiency estimation, TFP shows during mergers and acquisitions, efficiency fluctuates but in an inverted U-shape (increasing from 2008-2011 but decreasing from 2013 to 2020). The estimated results of the impact assessment model show that FDI reduces the efficiency of banks. Productivity analysis shows that 6 out of 23 banks in the study period had positive TFP growth (tfpch > 1) due to technical progress and management efficiency. The findings of this study suggest that Vietnam's commercial banking system has many opportunities to improve operational efficiency in many aspects. In which, there are opportunities to increase credit, improve governance as well as improve the technology level of each bank. In addition, along with traditional products such as deposits and loans, diversification with a wide range of products and services is an important factor to enhance customer experience and demand in commercial banks.

  • The theory of constraints (TOC) has become a valuable system in modern operations management. Using the ideas and methods of the TOC, companies can achieve a large reduction of work-in-process and finished-goods inventories, significant improvement in scheduling performance, and substantial earnings increase. The purpose of this paper is to calculate the optimal size of the time buffer which is used to accommodate disruptions in production processes and provide maximum productivity of capacity constrained resources. After the problem formulation in terms of single server queueing model, we observed the system behavior by sensitivity analyses.

The neo-classical macro general equilibrium theory, which has been reconstructed subsequent to Keyneses critism is treated the neo-classical macro-general equilibrium theory which inherits the classical theories of labour market and the aggregate production function, on demand side, it introduce the Keyneses macro-general equilibrium theory, which function through flexible movement of prices, wage and interest. Nowadays, Keynes General Theory is being developed into new dimension i, e. the macro-disequilibrium theory, and adequacy, and appropriateness of the theory and its significant contributions to modern economics are being reinterpreted and substantiated.

  • Traditional CVP (Cost-Volume-Profit) analysis employs linear cost and revenue functions within some specified time period and range of operations. Therefore CVP analysis is assumption of constant labor productivity. The use of linear cost functions implicity assumes, among other things, that firm's labor force is either a homogenous group or a collection homogenous subgroups in a constant mix, and that total production changes in a linear fashion through appropriate increase or decrease of seemingly interchangeable labor unit. But productivity rates in many firms are known to change with additional manufacturing experience in employee skill. Learning curve is intended to subsume the effects of all these resources of productivity. This learning phenomenon is quantifiable in the form of a learning curve, or manufacturing progress function. The purpose d this study is to show how alternative assumptions regarding a firm's labor force may be utilize by integrating conventional CVP analysis with learning curve theory, Explicit consideration of the effect of learning should substantially enrich CVP analysis and improve its use as a tool for planning and control of industry.

Effects of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Attributes on Work-to-life Conflict

  • The rapid adoption of smartphones and tablets among employees has recently forced organizations to proactively embrace bring your own device (BYOD). The situation of COVID-19 makes the concept of BYOD even paramount. Allowing employees to bring their own mobile devices to the workplace has helped companies realize productivity gains and cost benefits. However, BYOD has also blurred the boundaries between work and personal life, thereby creating a stressful environment for employees (Doargajudbur and Hosanoo, 2023). This study explores the relationships between several BYOD attributes and investigates the effects of these attributes on work-to-life conflict. It contributes by introducing workplace connectivity after hours as a new dimension of BYOD attribute to influence work-to-life conflict. Based on boundary theory, a theoretical model is developed and tested with an online survey. The results reveal that flexibility and workplace connectivity after hours positively influence productivity, and flexibility helps to relieve instead of increase work overload. Meanwhile, a higher level of flexibility and productivity can help reduce work-to-life conflict, and a higher level of work overload induces a higher level of work-to-life conflict.

  • As service industry became more important, many of studies have been done on the role of service. Such studies has been researched focusing on the relationship between the service intensity in the economy and a country's productivity. Baumal(1967) suggested that service growth in economy would bring about decrease in productivity. However, the economy of developed countries encounter with the productivity growth as their economy grows, which phenomenon called Baumol's paradox. Oulton (1999, 2001) find out the reason of Baumol's paradox in a forward and backward chain effects. So, this paper is aimed at verifying the theory of Oulton (1999, 2001) for 13 OECD countries using panel data analysis. We find out that the intermediate knowledge-intensive service inputs cause a multifactor productivity growth.

  • Many of Korea major companies have appled as strategy of management innovation Six Sigma, Lean and Theory of Constraints. Six Sigma has mainly focused to reduce variation. Lean has mainly focused to reduce wastes and Theory of Constraints has mainly focused that bottleneck of constrains production and sales. This bottleneck is caused by constraint resources and it should be the main role of manager to explore constraint resource. Although their mainly focus are different, they are used to improve productivity and quality. In this paper, as strategy of management innovation, study on analysis and comparison plan of Six Sigma, Lean and Theory of Constraints. From the literature survey and application cases, it is suggested and discussed that how to plan of application as strategy of management innovation successfully. The suggested plan of application could be a good guideline that it could be a apply of companies.

  • In old days when there were no developed producing devices like today, all the scholars insisted that we should economize products and that will lead to economic stability of a nation. But the in case of Mozi, he criticized the ruler's extravagance and wastefulness. He tried to prove the result and its' effect on national economy and people's usual life. He also tried to protect and improve people's fortunes and productivity through his theories. He is one of the first scholars who thought about the relationship between labor cost, price theory and product circulation. His theories are in the book of Mojing. He thought that material condition makes a great impact on the people's ethical life and social systems. He devoted his life to improve his theory- if the nobility do not waste and exploit; the national economy will be developed. In Mozi's Economical theory, we can find out his love for the people and desire for the people's welfare.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the intra CSR for the sustainable hospital management. The company was proactive stance on CSR carried out in the environmental field as a preemptive countermeasures movement of citizens and government regulations. CSR, while performing for employees, is recognized as a problem within the enterprise, it was reluctant to respond to the performance and results published. This study aims to determine whether the effect is substantially reflect If you want to include in the process of demonstrating the impact of CSR within the organization to make decisions in labor union composed of employees of internal stakeholders as a parameter. In particular, research in the field of performing a public function such situations, hospitals are lacking. Internal CSR performance of the general hospital (professional) in this study was found to have mad that the generally positive effect on improving labor productivity within the organization. In particular, its performance was more positive than in the virtuous cycle that meets the expectations and internal performance improvements improve equity executives expect employees to be borne if your blood and your liver collaborative decision-making behavior. Therefore, the internal CSR awareness by investing in sustainable management of the partnership is expected to achieve improved financial performance and labor productivity by performing more active at the same time.
