The objective of this study is to figure out some specific features that were found during the adaptation process of migrant women by marriage to their local community, and also to elicit certain practical implications to facilitate their adaptation, based on the findings. For data collection, in-depth interviews were conducted with eight migrant women by marriage and the interviews were tape-recorded for transcription. For analysis, phenomenological method, particularly, Colaizzi method was adopted, by which meaningful statements in the data were categorized into themes and theme clusters. A total of 7 thematic unts, 17 themes and 47 meanings were elicited from the analysis and these 7 thematic units were "reinforcement of inner capability"; "cultural assimilation"; "to be a limited benefit receiver"; "no human network"; " impossible to be optimistic about future"; "hoping to reside in their local community"; "possible to leave Korea." Finally, this study suggested the implications for social welfare practices to facilitate the adaptation of immigrant women by marriage in their local community.

To provide technological foundation for periodic and real-time land monitoring over the Korean peninsula where the land cover changes are prevailing, the Land Monitoring Research project was initiated as one of five core projects within the Intelligent National Land Information Technology Innovation Project operated by the Korean Land Spatialization Group (KLSG). This four year project can be categorized into two research themes with nine sub-projects. The first research theme is dealing with the real-time data acquisition from aerial platform and in-situ measurements by ubiquitous sensor network (USN), ground video camera, and automobile-based data collection systems. The second research theme is mainly focused on the development of application systems that can be directly utilized in several public organizations dealing with land monitoring over the nation. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS)-based land monitoring system that is currently under development is one of such application systems designed to provide necessary information regarding the status and condition of land cover in near real-time.

In this study, the basic operational plan for Chungnam Representative Library was established to define the function, roles, and operating strategies of the Chungnam Representing Library. A perception survey was conducted among public library users in Chungcheongnam-do and visitors to the provincial government building. Based from the results, Chungnam Representing Library's roles in collection, organization, preservation, and provision of comprehensive library resources in the city and province was shown to be the highest at 25.65%. Moreover, when respondents were asked about their preferred data resource type for collection and management of the Chungnam Representing Library, printed data emerged as the most preferred with an average of 3.96. Depending on the theme, literature was the most preferred, resulting to an average of 4.27. Lastly, when respondents were asked about the type of service that they expect from Chungnam Representing Library, a library that provides good books from various areas and knowledge information was the most demanded at 27.79%.

A leather clothes which was a representative item of an existed resistant image created a new esthetics. Cyber Resistance, being mixed with the highlighted cyber image in these days. Especially. the image of such new leather clothes appears apparently in SF movies. The purpose of this study is to examine this new esthetics through the leather clothes of the movie. $\ulcorner$Matrix$\urcorner$. currently becoming the subject of a conversation and affecting to a popular culture and the fashion and to help to the design idea of a unique leather clothes. The result of analyzing of the character in the movie is following. Trinity shows herself as a woman warrior by wearing tight black leather suit. Morpheus is described as a vague character with his old fashioned suit and leather trench coat. while Niobe carries an image of rebellious cyber warrior in her leather suit with unique texture. In addition. leather clothes on $\ulcorner$Matrix$\urcorner$ got the name of Matrix look and became a main theme in fashion collection. We can feel 'Cyber Resistance' esthetics in that leather clothes through the movie and fashion collection and summarize into three following features, First. it's grafted into the dichotomous value by progress and return as a retro futurism. Second. it moderately express a rebellious image of punk into a cyber image. Third. it makes cyber warrior's image that is neutralized mixing military and fetish properly.

Animals, as a part of nature, have much influence on children's emotional development and are one of children's favorite subjects of design. This study analyzes the differences in animal expression methods and types of animals, in relation to gender and item based on a collection of children's clothing and accessories that use animal as their theme. The collection consists of 148 clothing and 75 accessories (total of 223 items), which were collected from on-line shopping sites for children's clothes. Analysis results showed the following observations. Animal expression was categorized into four methods: emblem, illustration, character, and pattern.(The most common method was character, followed by pattern, illustration, and emblem. In relation to gender and clothing item, animal expression methods varied widely:(character was the most popular for) boys' t-shirts and accessories, while girls' bottoms and dresses. As for (animal) types, Mammalia was the most common, followed by birds and insects. Dogs and puppies were popular both genders.(However, differences in preferences existed as) boys liked big and wild animals such as bears, tigers, and foxes, while girls liked small and cute animals such as rabbits, cats, owls, and butterflies. Based on these results, six types of animals (rabbits, elephants, large-beaked bird Toco Toucans, fish, penguins, and bees) were selected as themes for kids' vest designs and, among them, three designs were made.

A foot has an intimate relation with human's health, thus became an important theme of researches for various academic fields. The aim of this paper is to investigate the trends and tendencies of research on foot measurement in various academic fields and to suggest the directions for the future studies on foot measurement. The collection of data has been accomplished from the papers published in the KSI(Korean Studied Information Service System) journals on foot measurement. The number of papers in 21 journals by 2006 is 79, and the first paper appeared in the Korean Journal of Home Economics in 1986. The number of publication has been increasing every year in various fields of academic including clothing, engineering, medical science and athletics, and measuring methods became diverse and specialized according to the purpose. However, there were some problems such as subjects being biased and similar studies overlapping without interchange between academic fields. Therefore, a research with variety in subject from an infant to the aged and a interdisciplinary research are needed.

This study aims to suggest new directions for the development of make-up design by understanding characteristics of deconstruction make-up and to search for new directions and methods in theme expressions and design conceptions by making illustrations with deconstruction themes. This study examines conceptual characteristics of Derrida's deconstruction, and analyzes the various deconstruction make-up styles through the famous fashion magazines such as Beauty Collection, Collections, Fem, Modain, and Vogue since 1997. The make-up illustration works in this study were made depending on these styles. At first, the nature of deconsouction make-up can be explained as deconstruction of existing methods, deconstruction of the sexes and deconstruction of history or ethnicity. The deconstruction of existing methods can be subdivided into decadence make-up, detester make-up, graphic make-up and collage make-up. Deconstruction of the sexes can be explained androgynous make-up. Deconstruction of history or ethnicity is subdivided into white makeup, ancient Egyptian dark eye make-up and raceless make-up. The deconstruction make-up illustrations present infinite possibilities in expression styles through three dimensional expressions and media mixture using not only drawing materials including watercolor, poster-color, and color pencils but also objets including magazines, coarse fabrics, screentone, beads, suede, sand and so on. The study shows that since deconstruction make-up illustrations are not limited to depiction-centered expressions, they serve creating unique images and future inspirations.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to further understanding of the experience in acceptance of hospice by patients with terminal cancer and to explore the structure of this experience. Methods: A phenomenological methodology was used for the study. Participants were nine patients who were admitted to the hospice unit of a university hospital. In-depth interviews were done for data collection and the data were analyzed using Colaizzi's method. Results: Four categories, eight theme clusters and 18 themes were identified for the experience in acceptance of hospice by patients with terminal cancer. The three categories were 'Hope for a comfortable death', 'Overcoming barrier of prejudice about hospice', 'Incessant craving for life', 'The last consideration for self and family' Conclusion: While accepting the hospice care, participants experienced inner conflict between giving up medical treatments that prolong life and choosing a comfortable death, and also experienced an incessant craving for life. By accepting hospice care, they showed a human dignity that entails careful concerns for both self and family members.

This research is a case study on the urban documentation focused on the modern missionary of Yangrim-dong area in Nam-gu, Gwangju. For this, the city of Theoretical Study on the documentation and records related to, Yangrim-dong analyze the collection, investigation of this. Urban archiving was done on Yangrim-dong area in Nam-gu, Gwangju, where the Western missionary activities were active. The "history of city" was combined with "mission" and the cultures related to Yangrim-dong, which was then used as a theme to suggest the archiving plan.

Compound nouns as a composition of multiple nouns exhibit diverse occurence patterns in the texts and have varying degree of meaning coherence.The problem of compound nouns in information retrieval is to find a method to represent and identify the compositive patterns of each words.This paper explains how the cooccurrence patterns are related with the meaning of each compound noun and the information of such relations that can be mechanically acquired from texts is used in ranking the candidated documents for a given query.The main theme of the paper is that compound nouns can be categorized according to their occurrence patterns of simple nouns and these occurrence patterns can be formalized by statistical analysis without large dictionary or complex compositive rules.Our suggested model achieved about 7.75% improvement over the best precision of the other methods at each recall measurements on Korean test collection.
