  • The maintenance prices in information security industry between Korean companies and foreign companies have been a big difference. Korea Information Security SW maintenance standards were not adequate for the rate, and there was disagreement between domestic companies and governments. This research, therefore, surveyed a standard of information SW and the status of maintenance payment rates. The study suggests an estimation method and verifies the method and an appropriate maintenance cost rate. According to the results of the study, the current maintenance cost should be increased or decreased independent with a kind of information security systems. Based on the study, Korea government is able to change the maintenance policy in information security. And the domestic companies get a theoretical ground for improving the rates of maintenance costs in information security systems and are able to allot the resources effectively.

  • Systemic management is required at each phase of the C4I system life cycle to achieve information advantage in the battlefield through stable operation of the C4I system under the NCOE. In particular, the maintenance phase is the longest period of the C4I system life cycle, and it is easy to utilize and analyze data such as faults that occur during system operation. However, according to the previous research, the maintenance is evaluated as a phase in which the definition and management of comprehensive indicators are insufficient compared to other phase. In this paper, we propose the method of C4I Maintenance Priority decision using Maintenance metric. As a result of modifying the Naval Tactical C4I System's preventive maintenance cycle according to the priority, the total number of faults is reduced and the maintenance efficiency is improved.

  • The importance of information systems(IS) operations and maintenance is increasing as the costs of IS operations and maintenance take larger share of total IS costs and organization's dependency on IS is increasing. However, this area has received relatively little attention from scholars and practitioners despite of its significance. The main objectives of this study are to provide practical guidelines for improving IS operations and maintenance practices, and to propose a research framework for this area. To accomplish this objectives, the following three issues are investigated. First, IS operations and maintenance practices of a case company are analyzed. Second, the current practices are compared with best practices. Finally, suggestions are made based on the analyses to improve the IS operations and maintenance practices.

  • Recently, government office buildings have become important in reducing maintenance costs. However, the loss of information raised a problem for maintenance work that could not meet the needs of users. Therefore, this study proposed a BIM-based integrated maintenance system for public offices in Jeju to efficiently maintenance work. The system can be integrated with IoT sensors, big data and artificial intelligence technologies to integrate information that occurs throughout the building's entire life cycle to exchange information. This system is also scalable to buildings, plants, region and urban infrastructure facilities as well as single buildings. It is expected that the system will provide reliable, high-quality, real-time information for efficient maintenance work, thereby supporting decision making and appropriate budget planning.

  • A systemic building maintenance management is necessary to supply an convenience and safety environment by maintain the origin features for a building's life. However, the exist maintenance management system has some problems such as interoperability of information or standardization of data. In those reasons, a critical information for maintenance a building may be lost and changed. In addition, the data could be crashed or lost on a process of re-input or re-produce. This paper purpose the interoperability in exchanging data between design/construction and operation phases. In addition, this model will enhance the efficiency of building maintenance tasks through information quality improvement and data reproduction prevention.

  • In this paper, we propose a solution to the software maintenance problem that is a primary factor of software crisis. We surveyed and analyzed the current software maintenance problems through questionnaires and interviews. As a result, we defined the software maintenance management life cycle and established a fundamental strategies to solve the software maintenance problems efficiently. We also designed a software maintenance management support systems to construct an automated software maintenance management tool. Furthermore, tp improve the formalization and reliability of the software maintenance management procedure, we defined acost predictive model using a fixed-single parameter based on comprehensive program size for the source code and delivered effort(person/month). We elaborated the model by considering an experience level of maintainer, a skill- level defined by the manager, and a reliability level required by the model of maintenance management.

  • In this paper, we present the cost measurement metrics for the operation management and service improvement besides the general maintenance. The cost measurement metrics of the operation management and service improvement are based on the metrics that are classified and summarized precedent studies and complemented by empirical measuring indicators, and we propose the maintenance cost estimation model based on this metrics. The maintenance costs can be calculated detailedly, because the proposed metrics can be used selectively, depending on the scope of the information system maintenance. The effectiveness of the proposed maintenance cost measurement metrics and cost estimation model is verified by comparison between existing studies and our research.

  • Based on real jobs, this study was carried out the Railway maintenance works in Taiwan. It hopes to use Geographic Information System(GIS) and Building Information Modeling(BIM) for changing the maintenance model from "post-damage repair" to "preventive maintenance". Accordingly, this research will build a Railway Repairing Database that installs all repair data. This database will also connect to GIS so that can be the source of analysis and statistic for repair paln. The main results of research are as follows: I. All data stored on cloud space that raises the ability to manage and plan on repair. II. Simplify the file work and increase the quantity of case data to the manager who can get more reliable source. III. The data offer objective judgment to avoid subjective argument. IV. Add the GIS information to improve the maintenance because of good analisis.

  • The construction data should be controlled from the life-cycle perspective. The current PMIS (Project Management Information System) usually focuses on the construction operation stage. The PMIS does consider the utilization of the construction in the maintenance of constructed facilities. This paper tries to interface the construction data with the maintenance data for effective use of construction data in the life-cycle perspective. To achieve the research objective, a maintenance breakdown structure is established and connected to the work breakdown structures. The connection of the two breakdown structures provide a structured utilization of construction data for efficient maintenance work activities. A prototype suggests that the interface of maintenance and work breakdown structures can help provide a construction and maintenance data in a more efficient way for maintenance activities.
