Jeju province is the highest area about obesity(1st), alcohol consumption(2nd) and male smoking(2nd) among sixteen Korean provinces by the report of Statistics Korea: 2013 community health survey. Therefore, it is assumed that the incidence rate of colon, liver, lung and breast cancer can be high. The purpose of this study is to test these cancer's incidence and mortality trends and compare comparability with national average. The Joinpoint regression model and permutation tests for identifying changes and parallelism in trend were used to test registered data at Jeju Regional Cancer Registry from 1999 to 2012. In male colorectal cancer, Average Age Percent Change(AAPC) of Age-Standardized incidence Rate(ASR) was 8.4% per year(p-value<.000) and the hypothesis of parallelism with Korean male average was rejected because of steep increasing of Jeju male patients' AAPC(p-value=.047). In male liver cancer, AAPC of ASR was -2.98 % per year(p-value<.000) and parallelism with Korean male average was rejected because of sluggish decreasing of Jeju(p-value=.026). In male lung cancer, the ASR parallelism with Korean male average was rejected(p-value=.009) because Jeju patients APC(4.37% per year) was increased during 2006~2012. This study demonstrates that AAPC and Trends of male colon, male lung and male liver were difference from national average. Further studies are needed to understand its causes.
Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to examine how clothing retail buyers (i.e., retail buyers, merchandisers, and storeowners), who are involved in assortment planning and retail buying use assortment criteria in their decisions. Comparisons are made between criteria used by men's wear and women's wear retail buyers as well as criteria used by male and female retail buyers. Research design, data, and methodology - A structured questionnaire was developed to collect data both in English and Korean. After conducting two pilot tests, the survey was conducted in Seoul, South Korea. Mantrala et al.'s 17 inputs of product assortment planning model with 23 assortment criteria from other previous studies were used. Results - Significant differences existed in consideration of assortment criteria between men's wear and women's wear retail buyers as well as between male and female retail buyers. Men's wear retail buyers rated the importance of sales history criteria (i.e., sales history, previous year's sales of same/similar styles) significantly lower than women's wear buyers did. Female retail buyers rated sales history criteria and weather criteria (i.e., unpredicted weather change, forecasting information of weather) significantly higher than male retail buyers did. Conclusions - This study provides guidelines for retail buyers regarding what criteria to use in what situations and how to organize assortment criteria from the most important criterion to the least one. In addition, the findings help them understand other retail buyers' buying behavior.
The purpose of this study is to find the tracking of blood pressure in primary school-age children. A follow-up study was conducted from 1986 to 1990 on 330 first grade children attending primary schools in Kangwha County, Kyungki-Do. Basically we employed a linear regression model with random coefficients to figure out the relation between blood pressure changes and initial blood pressure. We obtained the following results ; 1. The mean blood pressures were increased grade went up in both sexs and were generally higher in female than male except for the systolic blood pressure at first grade. The size of difference was about 0.8 mmHg in mean systolic blood pressure and 1.5 mmHg in mean diastolic blood pressure. 2. The average annual increasing rates of systolic blood pressure were 2.5 mmHg in male and 3.1 mmHg in female respectively. For the diastolic blood pressure IV the average annual increasing rates were observed to be 3.0 mmHg in male and 2.9 mmHg in female respectively. Increasing rate of systolic blood pressure was significantly higher in female than male. 3. The adjusted regression coefficient of systolic blood pressure change on initial value was -0.11 in male and -0.13 in female and that coefficient of diastolic blood pressure change on initial value was -0.01 in male and -0.11 in female. This result shows that children with higher initial blood pressure do not pick up their blood pressure faster than others with lower initial blood pressure. There is no evidence of tracking of blood pressure in children. It is essential to find the earliest age having the tracking of blood pressure and we leave it for the further study.

Objective: A comprehensive study was conducted to study the effects of partition of variance on accuracy of genetic parameters and genetic trends of economic traits in Vanaraja male line/project directorate-1 (PD-1) chicken. Methods: Variance component analysis utilizing restricted maximum likelihood animal model was carried out with five generations data to delineate the population status, direct additive, maternal genetic, permanent environmental effects, besides genetic trends and performance of economic traits in PD-1 chickens. Genetic trend was estimated by regression of the estimated average breeding values (BV) on generations. Results: The body weight (BW) and shank length (SL) varied significantly (p≤0.01) among the generations, hatches and sexes. The least squares mean of SL at six weeks, the primary trait was 77.44±0.05 mm. All the production traits, viz., BWs, age at sexual maturity, egg production (EP) and egg weight were significantly influenced by generation. Model four with additive, maternal permanent environmental and residual effects was the best model for juvenile growth traits, except for zero-day BW. The heritability estimates for BW and SL at six weeks (SL6) were 0.20±0.03 and 0.17±0.03, respectively. The BV of SL6 in the population increased linearly from 0.03 to 3.62 mm due to selection. Genetic trend was significant (p≤0.05) for SL6, BW6, and production traits. The average genetic gain of EP40 for each generation was significant (p≤0.05) with an average increase of 0.38 eggs per generation. The average inbreeding coefficient was 0.02 in PD-1 line. Conclusion: The population was in ideal condition with negligible inbreeding and the selection was quite effective with significant genetic gains in each generation for primary trait of selection. The animal model minimized the over-estimation of genetic parameters and improved the accuracy of the BV, thus enabling the breeder to select the suitable breeding strategy for genetic improvement.
This study examined the direct and indirect influences of adolescents' self-esteem, impulsiveness, departments of school, perceived communications with mothers and peer support on internet-related delinquencies. The study consisted of 555 second-year students from a vocational, academic oriented girl's high schools that were located in Busan. Data analysis was made through Two-Way ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation, Multiple Regression, and Path Analysis by using SPSS WIN 10.0. The results of this study is described as follows. First, internet-related delinquencies were committed by male students more than by female students. Second, problematic communications with mothers was most directly influenced by internet-related delinquencies of high school students of both sexes and was indirectly influenced by self-esteem and impulsiveness. Third, impulsiveness was directly influenced by internet-related delinquencies in both male and female students. In male students, their school departments indirectly influenced internet-related delinquencies by way of open communication with mothers, peer support, self-esteem, and impulsiveness. In female students, school departments directly influenced on internet-related delinquencies and indirectly by way of peer support, self-esteem and impulsiveness. Internet-related delinquencies by male and female students were not directly influenced by peer support and self-esteem. But peer support did have indirect effects on internet-related delinquencies by way of self-esteem and impulsiveness, and self-esteem also had indirect effects by way of impulsiveness.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to apply a general linear model in statistics to marker position vectors used to study human joint rotational motion in biomechanics. Method: For this purpose, a linear model that represents the effect of the center of hip joint rotation and the rotation of the marker position on the response was formulated. Five male subjects performed hip joint functional motions, and the positions of nine markers attached on the thigh with respect to the pelvic coordinate system were acquired at the same time. With the nine marker positions, the center of hip joint rotation and marker positions on the thigh were estimated as parameters in the general linear model. Results: After examining the fitted model, this model did not fit the data appropriately. Conclusion: A refined model is required to take into account specific characteristics of longitudinal data and other covariates such as soft tissue artefacts.
Objectives : Pyeongwi-san is widely used in Korean medicine for acute indigestion or gastrodynia. As a therapeutic agent for digestive diseases of modern people, in order to confirm the mechanism of Pyeongwi-san on digestive tract disease and the difference of therapeutic efficacy between its formulation, a comparative efficacy test was conducted on digestive tract disease animal model. Methods : For LPS enteritis animal model, male SD rats were intraorally treated with different formulation types of Pyeongwi-san, and then intraperitoneally administered LPS one hour later to induce enteritis. After 5 hours, blood was collected and TNFα, IL-1β, IL-6 and PGE2 were confirmed by ELISA. For acute gastritis animal model, male SD rats were intraorally treated with different formulation types of Pyeongwi-san according to the prescribed concentration, and then intraorally administered 60% ethanol and 150 mM HCl one hour later to induce acute gastritis. After 5 hours, blood was collected and TNFα,IL-6 were confirmed by ELISA. Results : In the LPS-administered enteritis animal model, Pyeongwi-san decreased TNFα, IL-1β, PGE2 and especially IL-6. Pyeongwi-san also decreased IL-6 in acute gastritis animal model. In addition, there was no significant difference in efficacy between the two formulations when compared with inflammatory markers. Conclusions : The efficacy of Pyeongwi-san was confirmed in the inflammatory markers related to digestive inflammatory diseases, and the efficay between two formulations of Pyeongwi-san was relatively similar. Further studies are needed to investigate the new applicability of Pyeongwi-san on different inflammatory diseases that have similar inflammation markers identified in this experiment.

Background: The aim of this study was to analyze the demographic and clinical characteristics of male breast cancer patients in Serbia, and furthermore to determine overall survival and predictive factors for prognosis. Materials and Methods: In the period of 1996-2006 histopathological diagnosis of breast cancer was made in 84 males at the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia. For statistical analyses the Kaplan-Meier method, long-rank test and Cox proportional hazards regression model were used. Results: The mean age at diagnosis with breast cancer was $64.3{\pm}10.5$ years with a range from 35-84 years. Nearly 80% of the tumors showed ductal histology. About 44% had early tumor stages (I and II) whereas 46.4% and 9.5% of the male exhibitied stages III and IV, respectively. Only 7.1% of male patients were grade one. One-fifth of all patients had tumors measuring ${\leq}2cm$, and 14.3% larger than 5 cm. Lymph node metastasis was recorded in 40.4% patients and 47% relapse. Estrogen and progesterone receptor expression was positive in 66.7% and 58.3%, respectively. Among 14.3% of individuals tumor was HER2 positive. About two-thirds of all male patients had radical mastectomy (66.7%). Adjuvant hormonal (tamoxifene), systematic chemotherapy (CMF or FAC) and adjuvant radiotherapy were given to 59.5%, 35.7% and 29.8% patients respectively. Overall survival rates at five and ten years for male breast cancer were 55.0% and 43.9%, respectively. According to the multivariate Cox regression predictive model, a lower initial disease stage, a lower tumor grade, application of adjuvant hormone therapy and no relapse occurrence were significant independent predictors for good overall survival. Conclusions: Results of the treatment would be better if disease is discovered earlier and therefore health education and screening are an imperative in solving this problem.

This study identified convergent validity and discriminant validity of measurement variables by factor analysis using Spss program and tested covariance measurement model including latent variables such as the website attributes (interactivity, search and visual information of website), shopping values(utilitarian and hedonic value) and attitude toward website by AMOS program. The data were collected from a sample of 271 internet shopper of university students(male: 82, female: 189). They visited the website for apparel shopping and, after searching a casual clothing which they wanted to buy, requested to answer the questionnaire. The results were as follows: Variables that reduce validity were deleted in the several steps of factor analysis and initial measurement model testing. Final measurement model was constructed by valid variables was accepted. This measurement model will be input for testing causal research model that can explain how attributes of the website influences on consumer attitude toward the website.

This paper analyzes death counts after World War II of several countries to identify and to compare their stochastic structures. The stochastic structures that this paper entertains are three structural time series models, a local level with a random walk model, a fixed local linear trend model and a local linear trend model. The structural time series models assume that a time series can be formulated directly with the unobserved components such as trend, slope, seasonal, cycle and daily effect. Random effect of each unobserved component is characterized by its own stochastic structure and a distribution of its irregular component. The structural time series models use the Kalman filter to estimate unknown parameters of a stochastic model, to predict future data, and to do filtering data. This paper identifies the best-fitted stochastic model for three types of death counts (Female, Male and Total) of each country. Two diagnostic procedures are used to check the validity of fitted models. Three criteria, AIC, BIC and SSPE are used to select the best-fitted valid stochastic model for each type of death counts of each country.
