한국 미인의 치아안면구도에 대한 기하학적 분석 (GEOMETRICAL ANALYSIS ON THE DENTOFACIAL COMPOSITION OF KOREAN BEAUTIFUL WOMAN)

  • Statement of problem: The meaning of the beauty has a little different nature according to a time, culture, and nation. Purpose : This study was undertaken to estimate the geometric esthetic criteria for Korean woman by analysis of facial photograph in a smiling. Material and methods: The facial photographs of 678 Korean beautiful woman were collected from Miss Korea candidates(from 1971 to 2003 year). The dento-facial composition was measured and analyzed geometrically on computer monitor using $Adobe^{(R)}$ $Photoshop^{(R)}$ 7.0. The statistical significance of the differences among the 4 decade groups was estimated by a $x^2$ test. Result : The Korean beautiful woman skewed the geometric characteristics such as the 'coincidence' (83.0%) between facial midline and dental midline, the 'normal' (96.9%) alignment and arrangement of upper anterior teeth. the 'average' (79.1%) position and 'upward' (53.4%) curvature of upper lip, the 'parallel' (85.7%) relationship between the lower lip and upper anterior incisal curvature, the 'touching' (49.9%) and 'not-touching' (44.8%) relationship between upper anterior incisor and towel lip, the 'first premolar' (54.1%) and 'second premolar' (38.9%) displayed in a smile, and the 'symmetry' (89.4%) of smile. There was statistical significance among the 4 decades in the respect of the upper lip curvature, the relationship between upper anterior incisor and lower lip, and the most posterior teeth displayed in a smile (p<0.05). Conclusion : The Korean beautiful woman showed similar results to the western esthetic criteria in the some respects and the tendency that the Korean woman had more active smiling recently.

산후풍(産後風)을 동반한 산후 복부 지방 저류 환자의 치험1례 (A Case Study on an Abdominally Obese Patient with Postpartum Disease)

  • We experienced an abdominal obese patient with postpartum disease. From the 15th of July 2006 to the 16th of September 2006 we applied herbal medications (Gungguijohyeoleumgamibang and Taeeumjouitanggamibang), acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, electrolipolysis, low calorie diet, aerobic exercise, behavioral therapy to her. We examined the changes in body weight, BMI, PBF and WHR and the changes in cold hypersensitivity of lower extremities and pain of wrists and ankles. Her weight decreased from 49.6kg to 44.5kg, BMI from $20.9kg/m^2$ to $18.8kg/m^2$, PBF from 27.7% to 23.9%, WHR from 0.84 to 0.78. Cold hypersensitivity of lower extremities and pain of wrists and ankles, symptoms typical of postpartum disease disappeared after treatment. Despite a low calorie diet, lactational performance was not impaired.

  • Gomphrena globosa has not known including allergic substances. In this report, it could induce allergic diseases like itching, redness, edema, dryness all over the body. Allergic patient from Gomphrena globosa gained a complete recovery under the administration of Sihogyejitang.

중년 여성의 거들착용에 대한 유형분석 (Type Analysis of Middle-age Women Wearing Girdles)

  • This study analyzed the attitude and effect of middle-age women on wearing girdles. Through this examination, we investigated types of girdles worn by middle-age women and compared and analyzed characteristics among types. By identifying middle-age women's need to wear girdles, this study enables effective development of girdles for middle-age women. Middle-age women's types of wearing girdles were analyzed according to three types of women wearing girdles: hate type, wearing preference type and inconvenience acceptance type. The hate type woman is frustrated with wearing a girdle because it impedes blood circulation, digestion, and causes fatigue. The wearing preference type woman wears a girdle to feel psychological satisfaction and self-confidence and thinks that wearing a girdle pushes the abdomen and supports the hip (hip-up effect). Women strongly agreed that body shape is made beautiful and the silhouette of the lower body is made beautiful by wearing a girdle. The inconvenience acceptance type of woman thinks it is inconvenient to wear a girdle, but nevertheless is satisfied with wearing a girdle. Based on findings of this study, development of girdles considering body shapes of middle-age women, development of soft materials and improvements facilitating dressing methods are needed.

손의 형태학적 특성과 손감성지수와의 상관관계 (Relationship between morphological characteristics and hand emotional quotient of hands)

  • 20~23세의 한국 여자대학생을 대상으로 아름다운 손에 대한 손의 형태적 특성과 감성과의 상관관계를 평가하였다. 감성평가 방법으로 손의 아름다움을 각각 10 등급으로 분류하고 이를 손의 형태학적 특성과 감성평가 등급파의 상관관계를 정성적 및 정량적으로 분석하는 방법을 적용하였다. 감성평가에 가장 많은 영향을 미치는 인자는 손 길이와 손 폭의 비이었고, 손 길이와 손가락 길이 및 손가락 굵기의 비율도 많은 영향을 주었다. 반면에 손 갈이와 손톱 길이의 비와 손가락 길이와 손톱 길이의 비는 감성평가에 마치는 영향이 상대적으로 미미하였다. 높은 감성평가를 받은 손(아름다운 손)의 특정은 손, 손가락 및 손톱의 길이가 모두 길고, 손과 손가락의 폭이 좁으며, 특히 낮은 감성평가를 받은 손에 비해 상대적으로 손톱의 길이가 모두 길고, 손과 손가락의 폭이 좁으며, 특히 낮은 감성평가를 받은 손에 비해 상대적으로 손톱의 길이가 더 길었다. 결과적으로 손의 모든 형태학적 특성들이 종합적으로 감성에 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 손의 형태학적 특성을 감성적으로 평가한 최초의 정량 및 정성적 보고로 손의 미적 요소에 관한 기초자료를 구축하였고, 이들 정보들은 손과 관련된 다양한 뷰티산업 제품 및 서비스 분야에 활용이 가능하다.

  • During thousands of years the people of china have not only created the brilliant cul-ture with a world reputation but also brought about an abundant treasury of paramountly beautiful hairdo fashions beyond comparison. Hair styles are an important symbol of the ma-terial and cultural civilization of a certain his-torical period. In Dang Dynasty the country was unified the economy was properous and the political situation was relatively stable. These spelt the solid foundation on which the rich and colourful varieties in the hair styles of women emerged. The numerous hair fashions in Tang Dynasty woman folk could be summed up into three catagories-high bun hanging bun and flat bun. Of course like the garments hair fashions are also the marks for the social status of the women in the feudal society. The hairstyle of the women of the Song Dynasty still followed the fashion of the later period of the Tang Dynasty the high bun be-ing the favoured style. To dress this type of high bun switches were generally used sometimes fashioned in to switch buns of various shapes coiled directly on top of the head. Women from rich families however usually had hairpins and combs made into the shape of flowers birds phoenixes of butterflies to be pinned on top of the buns.

A Study on the Dyeing of Ramie Fabric Treated with Medicinal Plant I . The Natural Dyeing On Ramie Fabric Using Leonuri Herba

  • This study was performed to investigate the effect of Leonuri Herba extract on the treatment of chromaticity and colorfastness. Leonuri Herba has been used as a Korean medicine for the treatment of woman disease. In the long history of Korea, dyeing has been applied for a means representing the grace of natural and inner esthetic consciousness of man. Vegetable dyes give us such great benefits, diversified color, but no pollution. And ramie fabric has distinctive features such as beautiful brilliance, elegance, and strong durability. So, it is regarded as a special product of Korea traditionally. These studies were carried out to treat with acetate iron, dichloride copper and alum with a mordant to ramie fabric. The ramie fabric was died with Leonuri Herba extract. The results of experiment showed as follows: First, the chromophoric degree was the highest in acetate iron but not distinction in another mordants. Seocond, the light colorfastness was the highest in non treated and dichloride copper, but alum was the lowest. Third, the discoloration was alum and dichloride copper showed first grade in washing colorfastness. Abrasion colorfastness was not significant in this test. According the previous results, Leonuri Herba has an efficiency on woman disease. So it is considered that Leonuri Herba can be applied effectively to a theraphy of climacteric disturbance.

  • The various colors are used in our whole life as much as the modern society is called "the age of colors". The colors in the hair style express the individual taste, personality and the psychological condition, and play an important role as a visual language. The western people, who has thought that the blonde hair is a symbol of beautiful woman from the ancient times, has tried to get the blonde hair continuously even though they had not the technique of hair dyeing. On the other hand, the korean people whose hair color is usually dark brown or black, enjoy a various hair color due to the development of dyeing and decoloration technique. In this study, I deal with the yellow hair style, the most prevalent color which is an important means of communication in the our times.

애니메이션 스토리 컨텐츠의 전환 (A changing direction of Story Contents in Animation)

  • This study is for making new story contents in animation fields through recent theater's animation trends. It is the Anti-Disney which is totally different from the attribute of Disney animation. It has three results as following. The first, Anti-Disneymation reveals the realistic America's problems such as violence, adolescent's loneliness, the slums of black people, etc. Next, animation's main target changed from just for child to for adults using various story themes. Also, the main characters are no longer beautiful and charming one like Disney animation's one and it makes we look at the matter woman another angle and makes totally different story telling. By the results above, we might to making an effort in creating Korean style animation with lyrical expression and cultural assets.

A Study on the Women Image Expressions of Cosmetic Advertisements through the Digital Media

  • The female image has been changed incessantly with age and has been eminently represented in cosmetic advertisement. The female images are changed from the classical images to the active and professional images with the historical current of cyber, digital, and fusion. These changes in the expression of female image are largely due to the spread of post-modernism, feminism, de-construction (Kim, 1994), digital information revolution, and increase of income. The female images in cosmetic advertisement have been expressed very variously with fashion, marketing target, and characteristics of articles. (Im, 1997) The cosmetic advertisements of pure and graceful images were popular in the past. But nowadays individual image, womanly image, and unchanged beautiful image are in vogue. Individual image is very popular in young generation with very short fashion period. Active career woman image represents passion and beauty with extension of women' social roles. Unchanged beautiful image in modern industrial pollution stands for the desire of keeping the beauty in youth. Brand is very important factor to consumers in purchasing. Brand is no larger the simple concept in the past, and accepted as reflection of the image, social status, service, and life-style(Lee, 1998) consumers are very favorable to foreign cosmetics with the increase of overseas travels and import. This phenomenon is considered as very natural, especially in young generation. To create a successful brand image, the harmony of quality, psychological preference, advertisement, and reasonable price are required. According to the questionnaire research implemented by the subject of college women students in five universities in Seoul, the majority of college women students purchase domestic cosmetic brands in cosmetic specialty stores and depend on the tips of acquaintances. Quality, skin-trouble, and brand are considered as special regards for purchasing. Especially, internet shopping in purchasing marks high growth rate and preference for foreign cosmetics is very ardent. It can be expected that the 21st century is the epoch of various small production different from the mass-production in the 20th century. Female image will be probably expressed with individual, emotional, and professional image in the media of digital, fusion, cyber, and technology culture. It can be said that the tendency of cosmetic purchasing in the future will be more focused on brand image and life style.
