The purpose of this study was to evaluate shear, tensile and shear/tensile combined bond strengths(SBS, TBS, S/TBS) in various orthodontic brackets bonded to human teeth with chemically cured adhesive (Ortho-one, Bisco, USA). Five types of metal brackets with various bracket base configurations (Micro-Loc base(Tomy, Japan), Chessboard base(Daesung, Korea), Non-Etched Foil Mesh base(Dentarum, Germany), Micro-Etched Foil Mesh base(Ortho Organiners, USA), Integral base(Unitek, USA)) were used in this study. Shear, tensile and shear/tensile combined bond strengths according to the direction of force were measured by universal testing machine. The bracket base surface after bond strength test were examined by stereoscope and scanning electron microscope. The assessment of resin remnant on bracket base surface was carried out by ARI(adhesive remnant index). The results obtained were summarized as follows, 1. In all brackets, SBS was in the greatest value(p<0.05), TBS was in 50% level and S/TBS was in 30% level of SBS. 2. In bond strength, Micro-Loc base bracket showed the maximum bond strength($SBS:22.86{\pm}1.37kgf,\;TBS:11.37{\pm}0.42kgf,\;S/TBS:6.69{\pm}0.34kgf$) and Integral base bracket showed the minimum bond strength($SBS:10.52{\pm}1.27kgf,\;TBS:4.27{\pm}1.08kgf,\;S/TBS:2.94{\pm}0.58kgf) (p<0.05). 3. In bond strength per unit area, Integral base bracket showed the minimum value, Micro-Loc base and Chessboard base brackets were in similar value(p>0.05). Non-Etched Foil Mesh base and Micro-Etched Foil Mesh base bracket were similar in SBS and TBS(p>0.05), but Micro-Etched Foil Mesh base bracket was greater than Non-Etched Foil Mesh base bracket in S/TBS(p<0.05). 4. Bond failure sites were mainly between bracket base and adhesive, therefore ARI scores were low.
This study was undertaken to investigate the relation between orthodontic force magnitude and the amount of tooth movement. And more light force application for reducing root resorption Twenty-four rats were divided into three experimental groups(A, B, C) based on force magnitude and application method. Springs of 50g force were applied to A group, springs of 100g force were applied to B group and springs of 25g force were applied to C group initially, and after 4 days springs of C group were changed to springs of 50g force. Two kinds of $sentally^{(R)}$(GAC U.S.A.) closed coil spring, 50g and 100g, were used. And we made 25g springs by heat treatment process of 50g springs. Each spring was inserted between the maxillary central incisor and the maxillary left first molar. Amounts of tooth movement were measured everyday by digital caliper($Digimatic^{(R)}$, Mitutoyo, Japan) under inhalation anesthesia for 15 days. After 15 days, all rats were sacrificed and histological samples were obtained with Hematoxyline-Eosin stain and Masson's trichrome stain. Following conclusion were made; 1. Group B showed the mean cumulative tooth movement of $2.19{\pm}0.41mm$ at 15th day, which was greatest among three groups, followed by group C($2.06{\pm}0.10mm$), group A($1.90{\pm}0.49mm$) respectively. however, there was no statistically difference among three groups. 2. All groups showed general tooth movement pattern and A, B, C group finished lag phase at 9th, 8th, 7th day, but there was no statistical significance. 3. Group A,B,C showed root resorption and especially group B showed the most severe root resorption and group C showed milder root resorption than other groups. According to the above results, large initial force with the development of a flirty widespread hyalinized zone may cause severe root resorption, so initial force should be applied lightly to reduce hyalinized area and eventually root resorption and then increased force will induce efficient tooth movement.
This study was carried out to examine seed germination, seedling growth, and biomass production of Eucommia ulmoides. The results were summarized as follows ; 1. Cold moist stratification at a refrigerator showed 60.3% of seed germination, which is the most effective among pretreatment methods. 2. In case of 1-0 seedlings, sixty seedlings per $1m^2$ was the most appropriate density, and the growth quality of seedlings differed significantly among densities. 3. Height growth showed continuous growth pattern and the maximum growth was shown during the period 21 June to 20 July, which corresponds 32.7% of total annual growth. 4. As tree age and DBH increased, the production of bark and leaf increased, however, its increment rate remarkably dropped down after ten years. 5. When tree age was ten years, the rate of bark volume showed the maximum value, 12.42%. 6. Dry weight of barks and leaves and bark volume were positively related to the growth of DBH and height. 7. As tree age increased, leaf area decreased, but the number of leaves increased.

Effects of seed coating on establishment, early growth and herbage production were investigated in Pot, Soil box and Field experiments. Seed was coated with 60% Lime, 20% Phosphate and 20% Peatmoss(W/W), also finely sprayed 13% Arabic gum and 2% Methyl cellulose(W/V). Coating were generally 1:20, seed: coat(W/W). 1. In the general growth of the growing stages and different oversown species at 80 days, seed coated was promoted than none in early growth. (Table 2 and 3) 2. Stand counts at 60 days after oversown, seed coated was higher 15% than none, especially, there was advantage due to coating on the medium and large size seeds such as Orchardgrass, Perennial ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass, but did not assist establishment of the large (Tall fescue) and small (Ladino clover) size seed. 3. Variation of sward composition was not quite different between two treatments, but seed coated was slightly increased the Percentage of sown grasses with advance of cutting time. 4. Total dry metter yield per unit area with seed coated was higher 17% than none in establishment year. 5. Variations in the chemical composition of the herbage and soil were influenced by coating materials in the coating regime (Table 8). 6. From these facts, seed coated also appeared that adequate seedling stands, early growth and herbage production could be obtained with higher than conventional overseeding method under a poor conditions.

Sediment oxygen demand(SOD) and denitrification rates were measured in four major estuaries(Suncheon Bay, Seomjin river estuary, Goseong stream estuary and Masan Bay) in south coast of Korean peninsula from March of 2009 to May 2010 to estimate organic matter cleaning capacity. SOD was estimated from the temporal dissolved oxygen concentration change and isotopic pairing technique was employed to measure denitrification. Sediment oxygen demand(SOD) was ranged from -5.1 to 24.6 mmole $O_2m^{-2}d^{-1}$ and denitrification rate was ranged from 0.0 to 3.9 mmole $N_2m^{-2}d^{-1}$in the study area. SOD was the highest in Masan Bay(-2.2 to 19.2, average = 10.2 mmole $O_2m^{-2}d^{-1}$) and Suncheon, Goseong, Tae-an and Seomjin followed. Denitrification was also the highest in Masn Bay(0.0 to 3.9, average = 1.0 mmole $N_2m^{-2}d^{-1}$) and Goseong, Seomjin, Suncheon and Taean followed. The effect of benthic photosynthesis by microphytobenthos on denitrification was evident in some season of Tae-an, Seomjin, and Masn Bay. The increased oxygen level produced by photosynthesis stimulated nitrification without severe adverse effect on denitrification and, as a result, coupled nitrification and denitrification was enhanced in these areas. A difference of seasonal patterns of denitrification at each site depended on relative importance of denitrification on different nitrate source($D_w$: nitrate from water column and $D_n$: nitrated produced during nitrification). Denitrification was maximum during spring in Goseong, Suncheon and Masan Bay. On the contrary, denitrification was the highest during summer in Tae-an and Seomjin estuary.

This study was conducted to estimate the heavy metal contents of vegetables available on the markets in Seoul area. Concentrations of mercury (Hg), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As), chrome (Cr), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), and zinc (Zn) were measured in 300 samples using a mercury analyzer and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES) after wet digestion. The average values of heavy metals in vegetables were as follows [mean (minimum~maximum), mg/kg]; Hg: 0.0005 (N.D~0.007), Pb: 0.011 (N.D~0.259), Cd: 0.012 (N.D~0.188), As: 0.002 (N.D~0.142), Cr: 0.100 (0.019~0.954), Ni: 0.093 (0.003~1.231), Cu: 1.098 (0.072~36.29), and Zn: 3.48 (0.485~21.31). The heavy metal contents of vegetables available on the markets in Seoul were almost the same as or lower than those reported in other studies. The weekly average intakes of mercury, lead and cadmium from vegetables take 0.44~7.71% of PTWI (Provisional Tolerable Weekly Intakes) that the FAO/WHO Joint Food Additive and Contaminants Committee sets for evaluation of food safety.

Physicochemical properties, free sugar and volatile flavor compounds of citrons harvested in different cultivation areas, such as Geoje, Goseong, Goheung, and Namhae, were analyzed and compared. Total weight of citron, ranging from 107.97 g to 154.86 g, was significantly different according to producing area. Weight ratio of flesh to whole citron was higher than one of peel in citron produced from Geoje, Goheung-improved, or Namhae-native. Citron size was the highest in Namhae-native citron, but the color of peel was significantly the higher in Goheung-native and its improved citron. In the peel of citron, hardness of citron produced from Geoje was the strongest (2337.13 $cm/kg^2$) whereas citron produced from Goseong (1592.38 $cm/kg^2$) showed the softest hardness. Moisture content was 85.35~87.81 g/100 g and ash was contained below 0.8 g/100 g in flesh of all samples. Although crude fiber content in Geoje ctiron was significantly the lowest in the peel, peel was 1.88~2.60 times higher than flesh. The order of sugar content seemed to be fructose> glucose> sucrose in all citrons, and content of fructose or glucose was higher in peel than flesh. Content of total sugar was 8.44~12.19 g/100 g in citron, and contents of improved citrons from Goheung and Namhae were significantly higher than those of native citrons. In addition, major volatile compounds were dl-limonene (59.52~74.30%) and $\gamma$-terpinene (5.60~7.88%) among 15 kinds of volatile compounds identified from citron peel. These results suggested that physicochemical properties and volatile flavor compounds of citrons showed some differences with regard to producing areas.
The purpose of this study was to verify the influence of musical activities on social and emotional behavior of infants, through providing musical activities to the infants who were cared in a nursery and observing the interactions between peer group, or a therapist and an infant derived during them. The subject is 24 infants who are under 2 years of age(25~36months) at two nurseries located in Bundang area, and 13 infants among them are randomly assigned as study group and 11 infants as control group. Pretest and posttest about social and emotional behavior are performed, and ITSEA developed by Brggs-Gowan and Carter(2001) and amended by Shin Ji Yeon(2004) was used as an evaluation tool. Infants' changes of interaction behaviors during musical play were also analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively, and for the analysis, infant's social play behavior examination tool developed by Holloway and Reichhart-Erickson(1988) was adopted. Based on time sampling method, each item of this tool was evaluated. Each session was performed for 15 minutes, and 60 times of analysis about interactions per session was conducted at every 15 seconds. The analysis result was showed with a table and a graph, and described qualitatively about behavior changes. When compared social and emotional positive behavior average figures and negative behavior average figures between study group and control group, this study showed that the positive behavior figure of study group was increased and the negative behavior figure was decreased. While concentration and empathy among positive behaviors increased meaningfully, aggression, defiance, separation anxiety and rejection to new things among negative activities also decreased meaningfully. The conclusion of this study is as follows. First, interactions with peers or a therapist based on music and musical experience make an effect on strengthening positive behavior among social and emotional behavior and decreasing negative behavior. Second, music has influence on negative behaviors more than positive behaviors of an infant, and produces a good effect on sub behaviors of negative behaviors specially.
Changes of chemical component and losses of chemical fertilizer by infiltration water from 0.5ha of paddy field in Chinan area of Chonbuk province during the rice cultivation were investigated. The infiltration water samples were collected in a ceramic porous cup which was a buried at the 30, 50, 70, 90㎝ of soil depth. pH of infiltration water ranged $6.64{\sim}7.90$ and EC showed $324{\sim}647{\mu}$S/cm. The content of total-N, $NH_4-N$ and $NO_3-N$ were $0.58{\sim}14.59$, $0.05{\sim}4.25$, and $0.15{\sim}7.71mg/L$ respectively. The content of total-P and ortho-P were $0.009{\sim}0.077mg/L$ and $0{\sim}0.029mg/L$ The content of $Ca^{++}$, $Mg^{++}$, $Na^{+}$ and $K^{+}$ showed $0.88{\sim}4.78$, $0.22{\sim}1.04$, $0.17{\sim}0.98$, and $0.84{\sim}3.19㎎/L$. These all at the first transplanting are higher than that of other periods. The content of $SO_4^{2-}$ showed $3.92{\sim}18.72mg/L$ and decreased with a soil depth. However $Cl^-$ of infiltration water ranged $9.03{\sim}19.97mg/L$ and no difference with a soil depth. When infiltrated $2,416.5m^{3}$ of an infiltration water from 0.5ha of paddy field during the rice cultivation, losses of chemical components were 20.34㎏/㏊ of total-N, 3.54㎏/㏊ of $NH_4-N$, 10.44㎏/㏊ of $NO_3-N$, 0.16㎏/㏊ of total-P and 0.028㎏/㏊ of ortho-P. Also $Ca^{++}$, $Mg^{++}$, $Na^+$, $K^+$, $SO_4^{2-}$ and $Cl^-$ were lost 10.24, 2.84, 2.84, 7.22, 50.04 and 62.20㎏/㏊ respectively. There were lost by infiltration water 9.35% of nitrogen, 0.59% of phosphorous and 22.79% of potassium in applied chemical fertilizer.

This study is to investigate microbiological hazards which can be used as fundamental data to adequately control leeks hazards and develop leeks GAP model for those who want to get GAP system. The microbiological investigations on cultivation environments (soil and water), crops (leeks), personal hygiene (workers' hands, clothes and gloves) and working tools (boxes) have been conducted for one year, so the period was classified under non-cultivation, cultivation, and post harvest. Total bacteria was detected from soil (4.0~6.7 log CFU/g), leeks (4.6~5.1 log CFU/g), hands (ND~3.3 log CFU/hand) and gloves ($ND{\sim}5.4\;log\;CFU/cm^2$) while nothing was detected from the other samples. The coliform contamination of leeks (4.8~5.0 log CFU/g) was more high than that of soil (3.9~4.2 log CFU/g). In case of foodborne pathogens, only B. cereus was detected at the level of 0.5~4.6 log CFU/g (or hand, $100cm^2$). Fungi was observed at the level of 2.1~3.8 log CFU/g (or hand, $100cm^2$) excepting water and some working tools. These results demonstrate that the contamination of leeks is comparatively higher than that of soil sample. The reason may be the cross-contamination by biological hazards presenting on soil. Therefore, it is necessary to properly control soil and fertilizer for safety against biological hazards.
