PMWN-PZT계 압전세라믹의 압전 및 유전특성 (Characteristics of Piezoelectric and dielectric of PMWN-PZT Ceramics)

  • In this paper, the dielectric and pizoelectric properties of 0.05Pb(M $n_{04}$ $W_{0.2}$N $b_{0.4}$) $O_3$-0.95(PbZ $r_{x}$ $Ti_{1-x}$ ) $O_3$+yN $b_2$ $O_{5}$ , are investigated as a function of the mole ratio of Zr and the amount of N $b_2$ $O_{5}$ . Also, the phase is analyzed by XRD. When the mole ratio of Zr is 0.51, the electromechanical coupling coefficient( $k_{p}$ ), relative dielectric constant ($\varepsilon$$^{T}$ $_{33}$ /$\varepsilon$$_{0}$ ), piezoelectric stain constrain ( $d_{33}$ and dielectric loss tangent show maximum, while the mechanical quality factor shows minimum value ; $k_{p}$ =56.5%, $d_{33}$ =258pC/N, $\varepsilon$$^{T}$ $_{33}$ /$\varepsilon$$_{0}$ =1170, $Q_{m}$ =1150, tan$\delta$=0.51%. At that composition, MPB which rhombohedral and tetragonal phase coexist in this ternary system is shown by the results of XRD analysis. Also, when the amount of N $b_2$ $O_{5}$ is 0.3wt%, the mechanical quality factor is increased to about 2000. The phase transition temperature of the ternary piezoelectric ceramic system showed about 35$0^{\circ}C$.TEX>.>.>.

중성자회절법을 이용한 이트리아 저코니아의 결정구조 연구 (Neutron Diffraction Study on the Crystal Structure of Yttria-Stabilized Zirconium Oxide)

  • 중성자 단결정 및 분말회절실험을 이용하여 이트리아를 첨가한 저코니아 (yttria-stabilized airconia, Zr0.73Y0.27O1.87) 결정의 구조 분석을 수행하였다 시료는 입방정계로써, 공간군 Fm/equation omitted/ a=5.155(2)$\AA$, V=136.99(5), Z=4로 결정화되었고, 중성자 단결정 회절실험의 결과로 얻어진 70개의 브라그 회절반점을 이용한 최종신뢰도 R(F) 및 $\omega$R(I) 값은 각각 0.0576, 0.1057 이었다. Zr과 Y 원자 들은 이상적인 형석 (CaF2) 구조의 cation 위치에 불규칙하게 배열되어 있었으며, 산소 원자들의 대부분 (95%)은 (1/4,1/4,1/4) 위치에서 <110> 방향으로 $\Delta$/a~0.033의 크기만큼 이동하였고, 나머지 산소 원자들은 <100> 방향으로 $\Delta$/a~0.033의 변위가 존재하였다. Rietveld 분석법을 이용한 중성자 분말회절실험의 결과는 단결정 회절실험에서 보여주었던 결정학적 정보와 모든 면에서 잘 일치하고 있었으며, 정방정계의 구조에서 기인되는 몇 개의 불순상의 존재가 최종 분석된 분말 회절상에서 확인되었다.

(Ba0.7Sr0.3-3x/2Lax)(Ti0.9Zr0.1)O3 세라믹의 Sr2+-자리에 대한 La3+ 치환에 따른 유전 특성 (Dielectric Properties of (Ba0.7Sr0.3-3x/2Lax)(Ti0.9Zr0.1)O3 Ceramics with La3+ Substitution for Sr2+-Site)

  • The effects of La3+ substitution for Sr2+-site on the crystal structure and the dielectric properties of (Ba0.7Sr0.3-3x/2Lax) (Ti0.9Zr0.1)O3 (BSLTZ) (0.005 ≤ x ≤ 0.02) ceramics were investigated. The structural characteristics of the BSLTZ ceramics were quantitatively evaluated using the Rietveld refinement method from X-ray diffraction (XRD) data. For the specimens sintered at 1,550 ℃ for 6 h, a single phase with a perovskite structure and homogeneous microstructure were observed for the entire range of compositions. With increasing La3+ substitution (x), the unit cell volume decreased because the ionic size of La3+ (1.36 Å) ions is smaller than that of Sr2+ (1.44 Å) ions. With increasing La3+ substitution (x), the tetragonal phase fraction increased due to the A-site cation size mismatch effect. Dielectric constant (εr) increased with the La3+ substitution (x) due to the increase in tetragonality (c/a) and the average B-site bond valence of the ABO3 perovskite. The BSLTZ ceramics showed a higher dielectric loss due to the smaller grain size than that of (Ba0.7Sr0.3)(Ti0.9Zr0.1)O3 ceramics. BSLTZ (x = 0.02) ceramics met the X7R specification proposed by the Electronic Industries Association (EIA).

알루미나-TZP(3Y) 세라믹스 복합체의 제조 및 기계적 특성 (Fabrication and Characterization of Alumina-TZP(3Y) Composite Ceramics)

  • Composite ceramics of alumina-TZP(3Y) have good mechanical and electrical properties. So, They have been used as high strength refractory materials and thick film substrates, etc. In this study, Composite ceramics of alumina-TZP(3Y) were fabricated by uniaxial pressing and sintering at 1,400, 1,500, and $1,600^{\circ}C$, and their microstructures and mechanical properties were investigated. As the TZP(3Y) content in composite ceramics increases from 20 wt.% to 80 wt.%, the fracture toughness increases monotonically, which seems to be related to the higher relative density and/or toughening mechanism by means of stabilized tetragonal zirconia phase at room temperature. In contrast to the fracture toughness, Vickers hardness of the composite ceramics shows maximum value (1,938 Hv) at a 40 wt.% of TZP(3Y). The result of Vickers hardness is likely to be due to more dense sintered microstructure of composite ceramics than pure alumina and reinforcement of composite ceramics with TZP(3Y), considering that Vickers hardness of pure $Al_2O_3$ is greater than that of TZP(3Y). It is also shown that the $ZrO_2$ particles are $l^{\circ}Cated$ between $Al_2O_3$ grains and suppress grain growth each other.

PZT-PMN 압전 세라믹의 압전 및 유전 특성 (The Piezoelectric and Dielectric Properties of PZT-PMN Ceramics)

  • In this paper, the piezoelectric and dielectric properties as a function of x and a in $aPbZr_xTi_{1-x}O_3-(1-a)Pb(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$ + ywt%MgO is investigated. As a results, when a is 0.95 and x is 0.505, electromechanical coupling factor$(k_p)$, permittivity${\varepsilon}_33^T/{\varepsilon}_0$, piezoelectric strain constant$(d_{33})$ and mechanical quality factor$(Q_m)$ are 58 %, 1520, 272 pC/N and 1550, respectively. From XRD analysis, when x is 0.505, it is MPB which present rhombohedral and tetragonal phase in same quantity. Also, From SEM observation, when sintering temperature is $1150^{\circ}C$, grain size is about $2\;{\mu}m$. As a results added MgO dopant in the ternary piezoelectric ceramic, when MgO content is 0.1 wt%, $k_p$ increases to 63[%].

Basic Zirconium Sulfate의 제조와 그 열분해 거동 (The Preparation and Thermal Decomposition of the Basic Zirconium Sulfate)

  • The basic zirconium sulfate was prepared from ZrOCl2.8H2O and H2SO4 in the 9$0^{\circ}C$ aqueous solution. The pH and amount of unreacted zirconium in the solution that reacton had completed was 0.2 and 10%. As the pH was increased to 1.4 by NH4OH theresulting precipitates were the mixtures of the basic zirconium sulfate and the zirconium hydroxide although the precipitates were recovered completely. The thermal decomposition behavior of this sample has been examined by thermal analysis(TG-DTA), X-ray diffraction study, infrared spectroscopy and sulfur analysis. As a result, it was found that the precipitates have perfectly been decomposed at 85$0^{\circ}C$ accompanying to the release of a molecule of water below 25$0^{\circ}C$ and 85% sulfate at about $600^{\circ}C$. The thermally decomlposed products were initially amorphous phase, which were become metastable tetragonal phase with increment of temperature and finally transformed to the stable monoclinic phase at 100$0^{\circ}C$.

  • In this study, the structural, dielectric and piezoelectric properties of Pb[(Sb$\sub$1/2/Nb$\sub$1/2/)$\sub$x/- (Ni$\sub$1/3/Nb$\sub$2/3/)$\sub$0.15-x/- (Zr,Ti)$\sub$0.85/]O$_3$(x = 0, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04, 0.05) ceramics is investigated as a function of Pb(Sb$\sub$1/2/Nb$\sub$1/2/)O$_3$ (abbreviated PSN) substitution. With the increase of PSN substitution, the crystal structure is transO$_3$formed from the tetragonal phase to the rhombohedral phase and the grain size is decreased abruptly. The curie temperature is decreased with the PSN substitution. The dielectric constant is increased with the PSN substitution and maximum value of 2290 is obtained at 4mol% PSN. With the PSN substitution, the coercive field is increased and the remnant polarization is decreased. The Electromechanical coupling factor(k$\sub$p/) Is showed the highest value of 0.622 at lmol% PSN and the mechanical quality factor(Q$\sub$m/) is decreased abruptly with the PSN substitution.

The Morphology and Crystallography of Isothermal Martensite in Yttria Stabilized Zirconia

  • A full retention of the tetragonal phase with coarse grains $(50\~60\;{\mu}m)$ was possible with the specimen $ZrO_2-1.9\;mol\%\;Y_2O_3$. In these coarse grains, $\{101\}_t$ annealing twins were frequently observed, although they do not exist in the usual fine grained specimens. The morphology and growth rate of the isothermally formed individual products are studied at an optical microscopic level. The habit planes of both products are also identified by performing two-surface trace analysis on the grains whose orientations are determined by the Electron Back Scattering Pattern (EBSP) method. The morphologies of isothermal martensite were well-defined thin plates and lenticular types. The growth rate in their longitudinal directions was quite slow and temperature-dependent. A two-surface trace analysis, incorporated with the EBSP method, identified the habit planes near $\{013\}_c$, in agreement with previous reports obtained from TEM works.

Microstructures and Mechanical Properties of Pressureless and Spark Plasma Sintered ZrO2(3 mol%Y2O3) Bodies

  • The microstructures and mechanical properties of Tetragonal Zirconia Polycrystals (TZP) sintered bodies, which made by pressureless and spark plasma sintering techniques, were investigated using XRD, SEM, and TEM techniques. In the spark plasma sintered samples, the TZP grains were equiaxed type including many sub-grain boundaries regardless of sintering conditions. The biaxial strength of TZP having an average of 80 nm grains in diameter was high in value with 1025 MPa, but fracture toughness showed a low value due to the absence of a fracture toughening mechanism such as transformation toughening. In the Pressureless Sintered (PLSed) samples, the grain size of TZP was strongly dependent on the sintering temperature; i.e., it gradually increased as the sintering temperature increased. The value of fracture toughness increased as the grain size increased by the stress-induced phase transformation and Borne crack deflection.

수열법에 의한 저온 결정형 지르코니아 나노 분말의 제조 (Preparation of Zirconia Nanocrystalline Powder by the Hydrothemal Treatment at low Temperature)

  • $ZrOCl_2{\cdot}8H_2O$ 수용액과 $NH_4OH$ 수용액을 반응시켜 얻은 지르코니아 수화물을 반응조건으로 100∼250$^{\circ}$C, 1∼48시간과 1, 5 M NaOH 수용액에서 수열합성하여 결정형 나노크기의 지르코니아 분말을 제조하였다. 수열합성 온도가 낮을 경우 구형의 정방정상 나노입자가 합성되었으며, 합성온도가 증가하면서 입자크기의 증가 및 입자모양도 막대상으로 변하면서 결정상도 단사정상을 나타내었다. NaOH 용액의 몰 농도가 증가함에 따라 합성된 입자의 폭과 길가 크며 장단축비는 감소하였다. 반면에 NaOH 용액의 농도가 낮을 경우 입자 길이가 폭에 비해 상대적으로 크고, 이에 따라 장단축비가 큰 막대상 입자가 합성되었다.
