  • 본 연구는 수집된 training 패킷을 패킷이미지 생성모듈을 통해 적절히 가공하여 SVM에 학습을 시키고 학습된 SVM에 testing 패킷이미지를 테스트 시킨 후 분류해내는 것을 제안한다. 서포트 벡터 머신[Support Vector Machines]을 이용한 미확인 침입탐지 시스템은 보안의 안정성 및 효율성면에서 기존의 시스템들보다 훨씬 우수하다.

Issues Related to the Use of Time Series in Model Building and Analysis: Review Article

  • Time series are used in many studies for model building and analysis. We must be very careful to understand the kind of time series data used in the analysis. In this review article, we will begin with some issues related to the use of aggregate and systematic sampling time series. Since several time series are often used in a study of the relationship of variables, we will also consider vector time series modeling and analysis. Although the basic procedures of model building between univariate time series and vector time series are the same, there are some important phenomena which are unique to vector time series. Therefore, we will also discuss some issues related to vector time models. Understanding these issues is important when we use time series data in modeling and analysis, regardless of whether it is a univariate or multivariate time series.

  • The objective of this paper is to present a new feature-vector extraction method for the automatic detection and classification of power quality(PQ) disturbances, where FIT, DWT(Discrete Wavelet Transform), and Fisher's criterion are utilized to extract an appropriate feature vector. In particular, the proposed classifier consists of three parts: i.e., (i) automatic detection of PQ disturbances, where the wavelet transform and signal power estimation method are utilized to detect each disturbance, (ii) feature vector extraction from the detected disturbance, and (iii) automatic classification, where Multi-Layer Perceptron(MLP) is used to classify each disturbance from the corresponding extracted feature vector. To demonstrate the performance and applicability of the proposed classification algorithm, some test results obtained by analyzing 10-class power quality disturbances are also provided.

A Study on the Optimal Mahalanobis Distance for Speech Recognition

  • In an effort to enhance the quality of feature vector classification and thereby reduce the recognition error rate of the speaker-independent speech recognition, we employ the Mahalanobis distance in the calculation of the similarity measure between feature vectors. It is assumed that the metric matrix of the Mahalanobis distance be diagonal for the sake of cost reduction in memory and time of calculation. We propose that the diagonal elements be given in terms of the variations of the feature vector components. Geometrically, this prescription tends to redistribute the set of data in the shape of a hypersphere in the feature vector space. The idea is applied to the speech recognition by hidden Markov model with fuzzy vector quantization. The result shows that the recognition is improved by an appropriate choice of the relevant adjustable parameter. The Viterbi score difference of the two winners in the recognition test shows that the general behavior is in accord with that of the recognition error rate.

  • Fault diagnosis is one of the most studied problems in process engineering. Recently, great research interest has been devoted to approaches that use classification methods to detect faults. This paper presents an application of a newly developed classification method - support vector machines - for fault diagnosis in an industrial case. A real set of operation data of a motor pump was used to train and test the support vector machines. The experiment results show that the support vector machines give higher correct detection rate of faults in comparison to rule-based diagnostics. In addition, the studied method can work with fewer training instances, what is important for online diagnostics.

An Early Warning Model for Student Status Based on Genetic Algorithm-Optimized Radial Basis Kernel Support Vector Machine

  • A model based on genetic algorithm optimization, GA-SVM, is proposed to warn university students of their status. This model improves the predictive effect of support vector machines. The genetic optimization algorithm is used to train the hyperparameters and adjust the kernel parameters, kernel penalty factor C, and gamma to optimize the support vector machine model, which can rapidly achieve convergence to obtain the optimal solution. The experimental model was trained on open-source datasets and validated through comparisons with random forest, backpropagation neural network, and GA-SVM models. The test results show that the genetic algorithm-optimized radial basis kernel support vector machine model GA-SVM can obtain higher accuracy rates when used for early warning in university learning.

Analysis of the relationship between garlic and onion acreage response

  • Garlic and onion are staple agricultural products to Koreans and also are important with regard to agricultural producers' income. These products' acreage responses are highly correlated with each other. Therefore, it is necessary to test whether there is a cointegration relationship between garlic acreage and onion acreage when one tries to estimate the acreage response's function. Based upon the test result of cointegration, it is confirmed that there is no statistically significant cointegration relationship between garlic acreage and onion acreage. In this case, vector autoregressive model is preferred to vector error correction model. This study investigated the dynamic relationship between garlic and onion acreage responses using vector autoregressive (VAR) model. The estimated results of VAR acreage response models show that there is a statistically significant relationship between current and lagged acreage of more than one lag. Therefore, it is recommended that government should consider the long-run period's relationship of each product's acreage when it plans a policy for stabilizing the supply and demand of garlic and onion. For the price variables, garlic price only affects garlic acreage response while onion price affects not only onion acreage response but also garlic acreage response. This implies that the stabilizing policy for onion price could have bigger effects than that for garlic price stabilization.

주택가격지수 모형의 비교연구 (Comparison of the forecasting models with real estate price index)

  • 주택가격은 대내외적으로 경기관련 많은 변수들에 의해 영향을 받기 때문에 다변량분석의 경우 이와 관련된 변수들간의 상호관련성을 검정하여야 한다. 그랜저 인과성 검정결과 변수들간에 서로 인과성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 변수들 사이에 공적분 존재유무를 확인한 결과 공적분이 존재하므로 오차수정항이 포함된 벡터오차수정모형을 이용하여 분석을 시도하였다. ARIMA 및 VAR 모형과의 예측력 실증비교 결과 벡터오차수정모형에 의한 예측력이 이들 두 모형에 비해 우수함을 확인할 수 있었다.

실내 환경에서 쾌적성 향상을 위한 Vector Base Amplitude Panning 기반의 소음제어 (Vector Base Amplitude Panning Based Noise Control Method for Improving the Amenity in Building Environment)

  • A variety of noise control methods have been developed as an interest on noise issues increases. Among them, noise control methods using masking effect, a phenomenon to reduce the ability to notice the unwanted sound by proper sound, to implement a pleasant sound environment have been studied under the name of soundscape. We proposed a novel vector base amplitude panning(VBAP) based noise control method to apply to the building environment. The proposed method could improve the amenity inside the building to reproduce the sounds with excellent masking effect on the incoming path of noise using the control speakers, considering the direction of noise source. The directional masking sounds can be generated by using VBPA technique. To verify the performance of the proposed method, we carried out the subjective test for the degree of amenity according to direction of the masking sound. Subjective test results showed that it is possible to improve the amenity inside the building by controlling the direction of masking sound considering the human's auditory characteristic.

Identification of Retroviral Vectors Producing High Viral Titer

  • Retroviral vector provide a highly efficient method for gene transfer into eukaryotic cells. This vector system can be divided into two components; the retroviral vector itself and the retroviral packaging cell line. The key improvement in the design of these two components are, focused on two aspects; the reduction of helper virus production and high titer-virus. We used PA317 for retrovirus packaging cell line, for its high producibility of viral titer. To test the ability of the vectors to generate high titer-virus, we have chosen four different retroviral vectors; LN, LNSX, LNCX and LXSN. To test easily the viral titer, we have made recombinant construction with CD4 and CD8, checked their viral titer and stained their surface expression. LXSN which contain SV40 early promoter in front of neo gene showed best results in viral transient transfection assay, dot blot assay and surface expression. In addition, recombinant containing CD8 generally showed much higher viral titration and surface expression than CD4.
