Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the relationship of self-resilience, academic self-concept and test anxiety in undergraduates. Method: The participants were 403 undergraduates in H, C University in G City, and K University in S City. Data were collected from March 1 to April 30, 2012, and analyzed using SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: The mean score per item for self-resilience was 2.77. The mean academic self-concept score was 3.17 and the mean score for test anxiety was 2.38. Self-resilience showed a negative correlation with test anxiety (r=-.186, p<.001) and a positive correlation with academic self-concept (r=.312, p<.001). Academic self-concept showed a negative correlation with test anxiety (r=-.353, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that self-resilience and academic self-concept enhancement programs should be developed to reduce test anxiety in undergraduates and that further study should be done on the effects of such programs.
This study was done to research the relationship between State-Trait Anxiety and Sexual activity of pregnant women. The subjects for this study were 200 pregnant women from 2 hospitals located in a urban area. The data was collected through questionnaires which was developed by Spielberger, from to, 1982. The content of the questionnaire consist of following 2 categories of Anxiety and Sexual activity; (1) State Anxiety, (2) Trait Anxiety and (3) Sexual activity included sexual drive, number of sexual intercourse, and length of sexual intercourse. Analysis of data was done by use percentage, T-test, x$^2$-test, ANOVA and pearson correlation coefficiency. The findings of this study are as follows: 1. The mean score of state Anxiety and Trait Anxiety of respondents were 43.06, 44.19, therefore Trait Anxiety was higher than state Anxiety. 2. A significant state Anxiety and Trait Anxiety were not found among general characteristics with age, education level and religion 3. In the analysis of correlation among state Anxiety, Trait anxiety and Sexual activity, the Trait Anxiety was positively correlated with the State Anxiety. (r=.3877, p=.000) It was support the fact that the higher level of Trait anxiety, the greater was the State anxiety. 4. And the state anxiety was negatively correlated with number of sexual intercourse. (r=-1518, p=.016) Therefore, the higher the state anxiety, the lower sexual activity. Or the lower sexual activity, the higher the State Anxiety. 5. Also, in the analysis of factors affecting sexual activity, only the variable of age showed a significant correlation to number of sexual intercounse. That is the younger, the higher number of sexual intercounse. (r=. -. 1380, p=.026).

Objectives This study aimed to investigate the relationship between depressive and anxiety symptoms and tardive dyskinesia (TD) and reveal the association of cognitive function and TD in patients with schizophrenia. Methods We recruited 30 schizophrenia patients with TD and 31 without TD from a national mental hospital in South Korea. To assess depressive and anxiety symptoms, the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) and the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) were conducted. Using the five-factor structure of the BDI-II and BAI, somatic anxiety, cognitive depression, somatic depression, subjective anxiety, and autonomic anxiety were assessed. Computerized neurocognitive function test (CNT) was performed to assess levels of cognitive functions. We compared the clinical characteristics, levels of cognitive functions, and depressive and anxiety symptoms between schizophrenia patients with TD and without TD. Chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, independent t-test and Mann Whitney U test were conducted to compare two groups. Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to evaluate relationships among the abnormal involuntary movement scale (AIMS), BDI-II, BAI, somatic anxiety, cognitive depression, somatic depression, subjective anxiety, and autonomic anxiety. Results The subjects with TD had significantly lower score on the cognitive depression than those without TD (t = -2.087, p = 0.041). There were significant correlations between the AIMS score and the BDI-II score (r = -0.386, p = 0.035) and between the AIMS score and cognitive depression score (r = - 0.385, p = 0.035). Conclusions Our findings suggest the inverse relationship between severities in TD and depression and support the assumption that there is an inverse relationship between the pathophysiology of TD and depression.

Objectives: This study examined the relationships among career identity, job-seeking stress, self control, and test anxiety in nursing students. Methods: Data were collected through self reported structured questionnaire form nursing students using convenient sampling methods form November 15 to December 10, 2015. The data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 19.0 using ANOVA, t-test, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Factors that had an influence on test anxiety included job-seeking stress(${\beta}=0.40$ p<0.001), career identity(${\beta}=-0.17$, p=0.010), fourth grade(${\beta}=-0.14$, p=0.020). These factors together explained 25% of the test anxiety in nursing students(F=25.48, p<0.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that job-seeking stress management strategies and academic career identity enhancement programs should be developed to reduce test anxiety in nursing student and that further study should be done on the effects of such programs.
Purpose: The aim of this study were to examine the effects of abdominal breathing on preoperative anxiety and blood pressure. Methods: The research was a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 60 patients that operated on under local anesthetic. Thirty subjects in the experimental group and 30 subjects in the control group. Data on anxiety and blood pressure for this study were collected from them. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, $X^2$-test, paird t-test. Results: After abdominal breathing, there was a statistically significant decline in the psychological anxiety level of the experimental group. With regard to the physical anxiety level, no statistically significant drop was detected in blood pressure. Conclusion: The findings of the study confirmed that abdominal breathing reduced preoperative anxiety of upper and lower limbs surgical patients.
Purpose: Dysmenorrhea is one of the most common gynecologic complaints of young women. This study investigated the changes in the menstrual cycle during test evaluations according to perfectionism and testing anxiety among high school girls in order to provide information for care of dysmenorrhea. Method: Data collection was done from July 14 to 18, 2008 by self administered questionnaires with 300 high school girls. Result: The subjects experienced amenorrhea(35.3%), changes in the menstrual cycle(66.3%), changes in menstrual duration(50.0%), changes in amount of menstruation(47.7%), and increases in menstrual pain during testing evaluations. There were significant differences in changes of menstrual patterns, physical symptoms, and menstrual pain during test evaluations between a high perfectionist group and low perfectionist group. Also, there were significant differences in changes of menstrual patterns, physical symptoms, and menstrual pain during test evaluations between a high testing anxiety group and low testing anxiety group. Perfectionism and testing anxiety showed a positive relationship with changes in menstrual patterns, physical symptoms, and menstrual pain. Conclusion: As perfectionism and testing anxiety seem to contribute to changes in the menstrual cycle during test evaluations, school health-care providers should screen routinely for dysmenorrhea and give more attention to health education on this topic to girls.
Anxiety in mice can be measured by behavioral reactivity to social or non-social stressors. These behaviors were compared by performing the resident-intruder test (social) as well as the light-dark transition and open-field tests (non-social) for the FVB, C57BL/6, and BALB/c lines of mouse. The three inbred lines showed significant differences in their responses to intruder mice. Three factors, accounting for about 68% of the total variance, were extracted from the scores obtained from the three behavioral tests. The first two major factors are primarily associated with the anxiety-related behaviors. One includes anxiety behaviors with a locomotive basis, while the other includes defecation measured in both anxiety tests. The third factor explains the three social behaviors, facial investigation, ano-genital investigation, and following, observed in the resident intruder test, although facial investigation is also moderately associated with the second factor. The results indicate that the behavioral responses to an intruder share a component distinct from anxiety-related behaviors.
Recent domestic university has emerged need to convergence education. Health related department College students must deal with a lot of exams. The test anxiety can cause physiological and psychological problems. To solve this problem, it is necessary examine the relationship between test anxiety and self-esteem. This study Health related department College students conducted questionnaire survey of 301 students. In general the overall average is 2.98 according to the characteristics of self-esteem and gender, boys, if older, the older the more self-esteem was higher. Test anxiety of the general characteristics showed little higher this year. Test anxiety is higher self-esteem was low. The effect o the general characteristics and test anxiety self-esteem, in the case of boys, seniors, if I choose this self-esteem was higher, the higher the anxiety test were analyzed by low self-esteem. Therefore, need to a systematic curriculum approach and academic environment.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a preference music therapy on anxiety and pain of cystoscopy. Methods: This study was performed using the quasi-experimental study design with non-equivalent control group pre-test and post-test. Total of 76 adult clients admitted to a tertiary hospital located in Daegu, South Korea were selected by convenience sampling 19 in the control and 57 in the experimental group. The data were analyzed by $x^2$, t-test, paired t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA using SPSS 17.0. Results: Implementing a preference music therapy was found to be effective in reducing anxiety level before cystoscopy in the present study. However, there were no significant effects of this preference music therapy in reducing pain and anxiety during cystoscopy. In addition, there were no significant effects of a preference music therapy on the patients' satisfaction of the anxiety, discomfort, and pain relieving. Conclusion: The findings support that implementing a preference music therapy may reduce anxiety before the cyctoscopy procedure. Therefore, it can be suggested that a preference music therapy needs to be consider-ed as a regular nursing intervention to reduce patient anxiety level before cystoscopy.
