옻칠한지의 제조 및 특성 (The Characteristics of Hanji Prepared with Lacquer)

  • The raw oriental lacquer produced in China was used in this study. This lacquer was diluted with ethanol and terpene in different solvent ratios. The diluted lacquer in the solvents had two layers. The upper layer was solvent soluble and the lower contained precipitates. Hanji was treated with the solvent solubles and the mixture containing precipitates, and then properties of the Hanji were evaluated. The average weight, thickness, and density of Hanji treated with oriental lacquer tended to gradually be decreased as the lower concentration of lacquer was used and as the solvent soluble was treated. Tensile strength of the treated Hanji decreased when the diluted lacquer was used and Hanji treated with terpene dilution at the ratio of lacquer to solvent of 1:5 (v/v) showed higher tensile strength than ones treated with ethanol dilution. The folding endurance decreased as the less concentrated lacquer was used and the highest value was obtained when 1:40 (v/v) of lacquer to solvent ratio in both ethanol and terpene mixture. Absorption ratio was higher in the Hanji treated with ethanol mixture, treated with the lacquer in lower concentration, and treated with ethanol mixture. Hanji treated with ethanol dilution at 1:20 (v/v) and the lower ratio of lacquer to solvent showed a hydrophobic property. Amount of the bound dye materials tended to be decreasing as the concentration of lacquer became lower and it was higher in Hanji treated with ethanol mixture than with terpene mixture.

Plant Terpenes Enhance Survivability of Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) Degrading Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes KF707 Labeled with gfp in Microcosms Contaminated with PCB

  • Polychlorinated biphenyl are toxic pollutants and their degradation is quite slow in the environment. Recently, interest if bioremediation using PCB-degrading bacteria has increaset,. In a previous report, plant terpenes (p-cymene, (S)-(-)-limonene, ${\alpha}-pynene$, and ${\alpha}-terpinene$) have been found to be utilized by a PCB degrader and to induce the biphenyl dioxygenase gene in pure culture. In this study, Pseudomonas pseudoalcaligenes KF707, a PCB-degrading Gram-negative soil bacterium, was used to determine whether the terpene stimulation of PCB degrader occurred in the natural environment. First, P. pseudoalcaligenes KF707 was genetically tagged using a transposon with gfp (green fluorescent protein) as a reporter gone. The population dynamics of P. pseudoalcaligenes KF707 harboring gfp gene in a PCB-contaminated environment was examined with or without terpenoids added to the microcosm. About 10-100-fold increase was found in the population of PCB degraders when terpene was added, compared with control (non-terpenes samples and biphenyl added samples). It was proposed that the gfp-monitoring system is very useful and terpenes enhance the survivability of PCB degraders in PCB-contaminated environments.

소나무의 정상(正常)잎, 피해(被害)잎 및 솔방울의 테르페노이드성분(成分) 분석(分析) (Terpenoid Analysis of the Normal, Damaged Needle and Pinecone in Pinus densiflora)

  • To analyze terpene components, the essentail oil were extracted with steam distillation method from normal needle, damaged needle and pinecone of Pinus densiflora. The extracted essential oil was analyzed by gas chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy. The results were summarized as follows; 1. Normal needles involve 43 kinds of terpene components, but damaged needles contained only 29 kinds. The most abundant components of normal and damaged needles were respectable ${\alpha}$-pinene and caryophyllene oxide. ${\alpha}$-pinene content in normal meedles amounted to 15.99 percents and caryophyllene oxide in damaged was 8.15 percents. 2. Pinecone showed 23 kinds of terpene components and among them the most abundant component was ${\beta}$-phellandrene, of which content showed 19.31 percents. 3. In normal needles, excluding ${\alpha}$-pinene, the contents of 8 kinds of other monoterpenes, reached to 48 percents of the total terpenes, 4. In damaged needles, excluding ${\alpha}$-pinene, the contents of 4 kinds of other monoterpenes, reached to 11 percents of the total terpenes. 5. In pinecone, excluding camphene, the contents of 6 kinds of other monoterpenes, reached to 58 percents of the total terpenes.

팽화처리에 의한 홍미삼의 휘발성 성분의 변화 (Changes of Volatile Component Contents in a Red Ginseng Tail Root by Puffing)

  • 팽화처리가 홍미삼의 휘발성 향기성분에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 동정된 63 종의 화합물 중 팽화처리 후에는 59 종이 검출되었으며 terpene 계 화합물 및 furan계 화합물은 팽화처리에 의하여 대부분 증가되는 경향을 나타낸 반면 alcohol계, aldehyde계 및 acid계 화합물은 대부분 감소하는 경향을 나타내어 terpine계 화합물이 분석된 전체 휘발성 성분 함량의 약 70%를 차지하는 특징을 나타내었다.

국립백두대간 수목원의 터핀(terpene)류의 발생특성 (Terpene Emissions from BackDooDaeGan Forest)

  • Forests are valuable natural resources for people living around the mountains. In particular, the comfortable feeling or healing is one of the most important benefits obtained from forests. This healing can be possible by many aspects of forests, including the landscape, natural sounds, anions, and pleasant aromas. We focused on the volatile organics from forest causing pleasant aromas, phytoncides. Twenty phytoncides were monitored from February to September in a national tree garden (BaekDoDaeGan SooMokWon). Five sites were monitored two times per month and 20 phytoncides were detected. Borneol showed the highest annual average concentration and the order of concentration was borneol > mycene > sabinene > limonene > α-pinene. The average phytoncide concentration was relatively high in spring and summer season when the trees were physiologically active. Daily monitoring showed that the afternoon hours had higher concentrations of phytoncides than the morning hours, which may be due to the stabilized atmospheric conditions at the sites. Among the five sites, coniferous forests gave higher phytoncide emissions than broadleaf tree forests. The current study showed that forests produce several phytoncides that cause a healing effect and a forest bath may be beneficial to the health of visitors to forests.

  • The purpose of this study is to make a functional Hanji treated with an oriental lacquer which has various functionalities. The raw oriental lacquer produced in China was used in this study This lacquer was diluted with ethanol and terpene in different solvent ratios. The diluted lacquer in the solvents had two layers. The upper layer was solvent soluble and the lower contained precipitates. Hanji was treated with the solvent solubles and the mixture containing precipitates, and then properties of the Hanji were evaluated. The oriental lacquer consisted of 25.04% of water, 60% of urushiol, 3.13% of nitrogen-containing compounds, and 5.66% of gum. The pH of oriental lacquer was 5.3 and the viscosity was 1680 cP. The average weight, thickness, and density of Hanji treated with oriental lacquer tended to gradually decreased as the lower concentration of lacquer was used and as the solvent soluble was treated. Tensile strength of the treated Hanji decreased when the diluted lacquer was used and Hanji treated with terpene dilutes at the ratio of lacquer to solvent of 1:5 (v/v) showed higher tensile strength than ones treated with ethanol dilutes.   • 핫멜트 접착제는 최근 대두되고 있는 환경적인 요구사항들을 충족시킬 수 있는 무용제형이고 접착공정의 자동화가 가능하기 때문에 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 핫멜트 접착제의 기본 수지로서 폴리아미드 단일중합체 대신 나일론 6, 나일론 66, 나일론 12로 이루어진 CM831(랜덤중합체)과 843P(블록중합체) 형의 두 종류 수지를 사용하여 핫멜트 접착제를 제조하였다. 결과에 의하면 접착제 자체 강인성을 크게 손상하지 않는 범위에서 가능한 한 낮은 용융점도를 갖는 조건은 CM831/843P 수지 블랜딩 비율이 약 75/25~50/50임을 알 수 있었다. 접착성 향상과 더불어 피착제와의 젖음 특성 향상을 위해 점착부여 수지로 테르펜 수지를 사용하였다. 테르펜 수지는 약 10 wt.% 첨가되었을때 현 시스템의 용융온도와 용융점도를 감소시키고, 접착제 자체 강인성은 증가시키는 접착제 측면에서 바람직한 결과를 나타냈다. 또한 접착제의 유변학적 특성도 전형적인 비뉴턴 거동으로부터 테르펜수지 첨가로 인해 뉴턴 거동에 가까워졌다.

저장조건에 따른 당귀의 정유성분 변화 (Volatile Flavor Components of Angelica gigas Nakai by the Storage Conditions)

  • 당귀의 정유물을 Nickerson 동시 중류 추출법으로 추출하여, 저장온도와 기간에 따른 정유량의 변화를 비교하였고, 저장 60일째의 각 시료의 휘발성 성분을 GC 및 GC-MS법으로 분석, 동정하였다. 당귀의 정유함량을 비교한 결과 저장 10일째는 저온저장$(1{\sim}5^{\circ}C)$과 상온저장한 당귀는 저장직전에 분석한 당귀의 정유량과 거의 차이가 없었으나 20일 이후에는 저온저장한 당귀 시료의 정유량이 상온저장한 당귀의 정유량보다 함량이 많았다. 상온저장한 시료는 저장기간이 길어짐에 따라 정유량의 중가가 완만하다가 60일에는 정유량이 증가하였다. 저온 저장한 시료는 저장기간 20일째는 정유량의 현저한 중가추세를 보였으나 60일까지는 유지 혹은 완만한 중가추세를 보였다. 당귀의 휘발성 성분을 분석한 결과 당귀의 주요 향기성분으로 극성 컬럼에서는 ${\beta}-elemene$ 등의 terpene hydrocarbon류, eudesmol 등의 terpene alcohol류, (-)-trans-myrtanyl acetate ester 등이 둥정되었다. 비극성 컬럼에서는 camphene 등의 terpene hydrocarbon류, ${\alpha}-eudesmol$ 둥의 terpene alcohol류, butylidene phthalide 등이 동정되었다. 특히 eudesmol류는 상온저장에서 전체 정유량의 45%, 저온저장에서 48%를 차지했다. 당귀의 휘발성 성분으로 극성과 비극성 컬럼에서 함량이 많은 eudesmol과 terpene alcohol류 등은 독특하고 상쾌한 당귀의 향에 기여하리라고 생각된다. 저장 방법 면에서 상온저장한 시료와 저온 저장한 시료를 비교해보면 당귀의 대부분의 향기성분의 함량은 저온저장한 시료에서 많았다. 그리고 eudesmol은 전체적으로 상온저장 시료와 저온저장 시료 양쪽에서 많았으나 저온저장한 시료 쪽의 함량이 더 많았다.

건조 조건이 오미자의 휘발성 terpene류 및 색도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Drying Conditions on the Profile of Volatile Terpenoid and Colour of Schizandra Fruit(Schizandra Chinensis fructus))

  • 오미자의 건조공정에 의한 휘발성 terpene류와 색의 변화를 조사하기 위하여, 건조조건을 $50^{\circ}C$$70^{\circ}C$의 열풍건조, $-70^{\circ}C$의 진공동결건조의 3종 건조방법으로 건조한 후 SDE 연속추출장치로 terpene류를 추출하여 GC/MS로 분석하고, 각 건조된 오미자를 마쇄한 분말의 색도를 Hunter colorimeter로 측정하였다. 생오미자의 GC/MS 분석 결과, 15종의 monoterpene류, 28종의 sesquiterpene류 및 7종의 terpene alcohol류가 확인되었으며, 또한 myrcene (56.97 ${\mu}g/g$)과 ${\gamma}-terpinene$ (58.49 ${\mu}g/g$)이 monoterpene류, ${\beta}-elemene$ (120.16 ${\mu}g/g$), ${\alpha}$-bergamotene ($103.45{\mu}g/g$), ${\gamma}$-selinene (75.97 ${\mu}g/g$), ${\beta}$-cubebene (66.69 ${\mu}g/g$), aristolene (51.25 ${\mu}g/g$) 및 ${\alpha}$-ylangene (28.06 ${\mu}g/g$) 등이 sesquiterpene류, 그리고 T-muurolol (96.45 ${\mu}g/g$)과 terpinen-4-ol (46.02 ${\mu}g/g$)이 terpene alcohol류의 주성분이었다. 건조과정의 초기에 생오미자 terpene류의 절반 이상이 감소되었으며, 이후 건조기간의 경과에 따른 추가적 감소는 아주 적었다. 또한 총 terpene류의 절반 이상을 차지하는 sesquiterpene류의 함량은 진공동결건조에서는 소량 증가하다 6일 이후 감소하는 패턴을 보였다. 그리고 terpene alcohol류는 진공동결건조한 시료에서 그 함량이 비교적 많이 남았으나, 고온인 $70^{\circ}C$에서 열풍건조한 시료에서는 가장 적게 남아 있었다. 건조방법에 따른 L값은 동결건조, $50^{\circ}C$ 열풍건조, $70^{\circ}C$ 열풍건조 순서로 높았으며, a값 및 b값도 동결건조에서 가장 높았으며 $70^{\circ}C$ 열풍건조에서 가장 낮게 나타났다.

SPME에 의한 꽃향유의 휘발성 향기성분 분석 (Analysis of Volatile Compounds in Elsholtzia splendens by Solid Phase Microextraction)

  • Volatile compounds in Elsholtzia splendens were extracted by solid phase microextraction (SPME). Two kinds of SPME fiber, carboxen/polydimethylsiloxane (CAR/PDMS) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) were used to determine the selectivity of the fibers to the different flavor compounds present in the Elsholtzia splendens. Identification of volatile compounds was based on the linear retention indices (RI) and the comparison of their mass spectra with those of on-computer library. Thirty compounds were identified in the volatile compounds extracted by CAR/PDMS fiber, including 1 aldehyde, 5 alcohols, 3 hydrocarbons, 17 terpene hydrocarbons, 3 ketones and 1 miscellaneous. And 5 alcohols, 3 hydrocarbons, 18 terpene hydrocarbons, 3 ketones and 2 miscellaneouses were identified in PDMS fiber. These results suggested that the selectivity of PDMS fiber was similar to that of CAR/PDMS fiber in Elsholtzia splendens. The major volatile compounds were naginataketone and elsholtziaketone in Elsholtzia splendens.
