The research analyzes and investigates conventional concrete, hydration heat, set, and mechanical properties by making high flowing self-compacting concretes of binary blend and ternary blend as one of evaluations about the properties of the hydration heat of high flowing self-compacting concrete with a strength of 30, 50, and 70 MPa. In addition, it estimates concrete adiabatic temperatures by calculating a thermal property value of powder obtained by measuring a heat evolution amount for powder used in concrete, a thermal property value of concrete obtained by conducting a simple adiabatic temperature test, and a normal thermal property value of material used in concrete, using a simple equation. Moreover, it analyzes and investigates the hydration heat property of high flowing self-compacting concrete and the thermal stress caused by hydration heat by conducting a 3D temperature stress analysis for the hydration heat and the adiabatic temperature obtained by temperature analysis, using MIDAS CIVIL 06 program.
Self compacting concrete (SCC) has good flowability, passability and segregation resistance because of voluminous cementitious material & high coarse aggregate to fine aggregate ratio, and high free water availability. But these factors make it highly susceptible to shrinkage. Fibers are known to reduce shrinkage in concrete mixes. Until now for conserving cement, only pozzolanic materials are admixed in concrete to yield a SCC. Hence, this study compares the use of wollastonite micro fiber (WMF), a cheap pozzolanic easily processed raw mineral fiber, and flyash in yielding economical SCC for rigid pavement. Microsilica was used as a complimentary material with both admixtures. Since WMF has large surface area ($827m^2/kg$), is acicular in nature; therefore its use in yielding SCC was dubious. Binary and ternary mixes were constituted for WMF and flyash, respectively. Paste mixes were tested for compatibility with superplasticizer and trials were performed on a normal concrete mix of flexural strength 4.5 MPa to yield SCC. Flexural strength test and restrained shrinkage test were performed on those mixes, which qualified self compacting criteria. Results revealed that WMF admixed pastes have high water demand, and comparable setting times to flyash mixes. Workability tests showed that 20% WMF with microsilica (5-7.5%) is efficient enough in achieving SCC and higher flexural strength than normal concrete at 90 days. Also, stress rate due to shrinkage was lesser and time duration for final strain was higher in WMF admixed SCC which encourages its use in yielding a SCC than pozzolanic materials.

This study analyzed the fundamental characteristics of concrete according to a ternary system mixing in order to reduce hydration heat of mass concrete and to improve early age strength. The results are as follows. The fluidity of unconsolidated concrete satisfied the target scope regardless of the binder conditions. When the replacement ratio between FA and BS increased, the slump of low heat-A mix and low heat-B mix increased, and air content was not affected by the change of binders. As for setting time, low heat cement mix had the fastest regardless of W/B, and high early strength low heat mix achieved 6 hours' reduction compared with low heat-B mix at initial set, and 12 hours' reduction at the final set respectively. As for the simple hydration heat, the low mix peak temperature was the highest and low heat-B mix had the lowest temperature. And high early strength low heat mix was similar with that of low heat-B. The compressive strength of hardened concrete had similar strength scope in all mixes except for low heat-B mix at early ages, and had unexceptionally similar one without huge differences at long-term ages.

On the construction site with trends of large scale, high rise and specialization, testing construction of high performance concrete, superior to conventional concrete, is continued to increase. For bridge construction, application of full staging method is gradually decreasing due to noise, dust, and prolonged construction period. Recently, precast construction, which is optimized to urban environment and shorter work period, gains popularity significantly. In bridge structure, overcrowding arrangement of bar is used to ensure its safety. For the manufacturing of overcrowding arrangement of bar, High flowing self-compacting concrete, which is superior to conventional concrete in flowability and compacting property, should be implemented. In this study, the application of blast-furnace slag and fly ash to binary and ternary blended system on the High flowing self-compacting concrete for bridge structure with overcrowding arrangement of bar is evaluated by flowability in accordance with the first class regulations of Japan Society of Civil Engineering (JSCE).

Fire resistance and field tests for high-strength concrete(HSC) of 80MPa were carried out to evaluate whether or not it shows the same material properties even in the field condition of being mass-produced and supplied. As a result, it was found that fire resistant HSCs containing composite fiber(NY, PP) of 0.075% have great resistance to fire and spalling. In the field test, before the pumping air contents, slump flow, U-box, L-flow, compressive strength, gap of hydration temperature of interior and exterior of specimen and placing ratio per hour satisfied the required properties of HSC. However, after the pumping of HSC, as slump flow and L-flow were slightly less than required criterion, they need to be improved. In terms of hydration temperature of HSC, it was found to satisfy the related criterion. Packing ability as well as placing ratio per hour of HSC, which was about $44m^3$, show outstanding results. If slump flow of developed ternary HSC is improved after the pumping it can be useful for the construction of high-rise buildings.

Recently the press and institute recognized fly ash as it had excellent performance. Its research and applications are on the rise largely as a substitute for cement. On the contrary, it is in a situation that the regulation of high quality fly ash remains at a low level. Accordingly, this study was to establish 8000 class of fineness of fly ash and three levels of substitute like 15%, 3 0%, and 45% in order to analyze the replacement ratio and effect of water-binder ratio for fly ash that affected the properties of ternary system concrete. As a result of experiment by planning water-binder ratio for two levels like 40% and 50%, it increased the fluidity in a fresh state, and it decreased the air content. This study has found out the setting acceleration and reduction of heat of hydration. As for the strength property in a set state, this study has shown the tendency of being equal or higher in age 28 days.

In this research, it used cement power and reduction slag, which generates high hydration heat in hydration reation without heat cure below -5℃ degree. Purpose of final research is preventing freezing and thawing by making the compressive strength 5MPa in 3days below zero temperature due to own heat of concrete. and it is the result of physical characteristic and thermal property evaluation of reduction slag. Because reduction sag generates high hydration heat, compressive strength development is excellent. By generating highly Hydration heat by C12A7 and C3A in reduction slag, compressive strength is developed in low temperature. In case of displacing only reduction slag without SO3, it is indicated that quick-setting occurs by shortage of SO3. For preventing quick-setting, gypsum is used essentially. According to this research result, in case of using reduction slag and gypsum as a ternary system, Compressive strength developed 5MPa in 3days below zero temperature. It is identified to prevent early frost damage of concrete below zero temperature.

Blast furnace slag(BFS) is a by-product generated during the manufacture of pig ion, and is divided into water-cooled slag(WS) and air-cooled slag(AS) by the coking method of BFS. In this study, concrete specimens with ternary binders were produced at the various replacement levels of cement by AS. Various mechanical properties of concrete, such as compressive and split tensile strengths, absorption and water permeable pore, were measured. In addition, the chloride ions penetration resistance and carbonation resistance were tested to evaluate the durability of concrete incorporating AS. The experimental data indicated that the use of AS up to a maximum of 10% replacement level enhanced the concrete performance. However, a higher replacement of AS exhibited poor mechanical properties and concrete durability.

Up to now, the RC structures have been recognized as being socially semi-permanent. But in recent years there were reports about the cases of early deterioration of RC structures. Most of all pore structure effects on the durability of concrete as well as mechanical properties of concrete. Therefore, in this study, mixing design was proportioned with the water-binder ratio 0.55 binder compositions corresponding to cement without any supplementary materials(OPC), cement with 50% blast-furnace slag replacement (BFS50), cement with 15% fly ash replacement (FA15), and ternary cement with cement, 15% fly ash, and 35% slag replacement (BFS35+FA15). And this study is to compare pore structure property of concrete by carbonation to investigate the effect of the permeation of deterioration factors such as $CO_2$ and chloride ion under the combined deterioration environments. The results showed that pore volume effects on the diffusibility of chloride ion.
Electrical resistivity is a property associated with both the physical and chemical characteristics of concrete. It allows the evaluation of the greater or lesser difficulty with which aggressive substances penetrate the concrete's core before the dissolution of the passive film process and the consequent reinforcement's corrosion begin. This work addresses the capillary absorption of self-compacting concrete (SCC) with various types and contents of additions, correlating it with its electrical resistivity. To that effect, binary and ternary mixes of SCC were produced using fly ashes (FA) and limestone filler (LF). A total of 11 self-compactable mixes were produced: one with cement (C) only; three with C + FA in 30%, 60% and 70% substitution ratios; three with C + LF in 30%, 60% and 70% substitution ratios; four with C + FA + LF in combinations of 10-20%, 20-10%, 20-40% and 40-20% substitution ratios, respectively; and four reference mixes according to the LNEC E 464 specification, which refers to the NP EN 206-1 norm. The evaluation of the capillarity of the mixes produced was made through the determination of the water absorption by capillarity coefficient according to the LNEC E 393 specification. The electrical resistivity was evaluated using the European norm proposal presented by the EU-Project CHLORTEST (EU funded research Project under 5FP GROWTH programme) and based on the RILEM TC-154 EMC technical recommendation. The results indicate that SCC's capillarity is strongly conditioned by the type and quantity of the additions used. It was found that FA addition significantly improves some of the properties studied especially at older ages.
