제주도 지하수 내 바나듐의 산출 특성 (Occurrence of Vanadium in Groundwater of Jeju Island, Korea)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the occurrence of vanadium in Jeju Island groundwater, focusing on the spatio-temporal patterns and geochemical controlling factors of vanadium. For this, we collected two sets of groundwater data: 1) concentrations of major constituents of 2,595 groundwater samples between 2008 and 2014 and 2) 258 groundwater samples between December 2006 and June 2008. The concentrations of groundwater vanadium were in the range of $0.2{\sim}71.0{\mu}g/L$ (average, $12.0{\mu}g/L$) and showed local enrichments without temporal/seasonal variation. This indicated that vanadium distribution was controlled by 1) the geochemical/mineralogical composition and dissolution processes of original materials (i.e., volcanic rock) and 2) the flow and chemical properties of groundwater. Vanadium concentration was significantly positively correlated with that of major ions ($Cl^-$, $Na^+$, and $K^+$) and trace metals (As, Cr, and Al), and with pH, but was negatively correlated with $NO_3-N$ concentration. The high concentrations of vanadium (>$15{\mu}g/L$) occurred in typically alkaline groundwater with high pH (${\geq}8.0$), indicating that a higher degree of water-rock interaction resulted in vanadium enrichment. Thus, higher concentrations of vanadium occurred in groundwater of $Na-Ca-HCO_3$, $Na-Mg-HCO_3$ and $Na-HCO_3$ types and were remarkably lower in groundwater of $Na-Ca-NO_3$(Cl) type that represented the influences from anthropogenic pollution.

Bi-Directional Half-Duplex Relaying Protocols

  • The bi-directional relay channel is the natural extension of a three-terminal relay channel where node a transmits to node b with the help of a relay r to allow for two-way communication between nodes a and b. That is, in a bi-directional relay channel, a and b wish to exchange independent messages over a shared channel with the help of a relay r. The rates at which this communication may reliably take place depend on the assumptions made on the relay processing abilities. We overview information theoretic limits of the bi-directional relay channel under a variety of conditions, before focusing on half-duplex nodes in which communication takes place in a number of temporal phases (resulting in protocols), and nodes may forward messages in four manners. The relay-forwarding considered are: Amplify and forward (AF), decode and forward (DF), compress and forward (CF), and mixed forward. The last scheme is a combination of CF in one direction and DF in the other. We derive inner and outer bounds to the capacity region of the bi-directional relay channel for three temporal protocols under these four relaying schemes. The first protocol is a two phase protocol where a and b simultaneously transmit during the first phase and the relay r alone transmits during the second. The second protocol considers sequential transmissions from a and b followed by a transmission from the relay while the third protocol is a hybrid of the first two protocols and has four phases. We provide a comprehensive treatment of protocols in Gaussian noise, obtaining their respective achievable rate regions, outer bounds, and their relative performance under different SNR and relay geometries.

도시 소유역 내 내수침수 위험도 평가 : 강우 시간분포 및 이중배수체계 모형을 중심으로 (Risk assessment for inland flooding in a small urban catchment : Focusing on the temporal distribution of rainfall and dual drainage model)

  • In this study, dual drainage system based runoff model was established for W-drainage area in G-si, and considering the various rainfall characteristics determined using Huff and Mononobe methods, the degree of flooding in the target area was analyzed and the risk was compared and analyzed through the risk matrix method. As a result, the Monobe method compared to the Huff method was analyzed to be suitable analysis for flooding of recent heavy rain, and the validity of the dynamic risk assessment considering the weight of the occurrence probability as the return period was verified through the risk matrix-based analysis. However, since the definition and estimating criteria of the flood risk matrix proposed in this study are based on the return period for extreme rainfall and the depth of flooding according to the results of applying the dual drainage model, there is a limitation in that it is difficult to consider the main factors which are direct impact on inland flooding such as city maintenance and life protection functions. In the future, if various factors affecting inland flood damage are reflected in addition to the amount of flood damage, the flood risk matrix concept proposed in this study can be used as basic information for preparation and prevention of inland flooding, as well as it is judged that it can be considered as a major evaluation item in the selection of the priority management area for sewage maintenance for countermeasures against inland flooding.

목포지역의 응회암 건축에서 보이는 지역성과 시대성 고찰 -응회암 건축의 생성과 이후 손양동 석공의 활동을 중심으로- (A Study on the Regionalism and Temporality of Tuff Architecture in Mokpo -Focusing on the Emergence of Tuff Architecture and the Later Activities of Stonemason Son Yang-dong-)

  • This research focused on the regional and temporal attributes of tuff architecture in Mokpo, spanning the Japanese colonial period and the post-liberation era. It aimed to uncover the distinct regional and temporal features of tuff architecture by integrating concepts from vernacular architecture and regionalism, framed through a lens of critical regionalism. The study traced the historical progression of tuff architecture in Mokpo within this context. A significant part of the research was an in-depth analysis of four constructions by Son Yang-dong, a renowned technician in post-liberation Mokpo, to closely examine the contemporary relevance and regional significance of his work. Tuff, as an indigenous material, distinctly articulates the local architectural character. In line with regional properties of tuff, the material has adeptly responded to contemporary construction needs. This has laid a foundation for the development of innovative building designs and techniques. Tuff architecture is particularly noted for its exhibition of raw material textures, offering a unique aesthetic that diverges from classical Western architectural styles. Importantly, through the examination of Son Yang-dong's contributions, the study highlights the role of Korean builders in an industry dominated by Japanese influences during the colonial period, underscoring a strong regional identity. As a representation of Mokpo, tuff architecture not only upholds and protects regional identity within the broader scope of Western modernization and Japanese impacts but also plays a role in its progressive enhancement.

  • 가상 음원 배열 개념은 시역전 처리에 시지연 빔조향 기법을 적용함으로써 가상 음원 배열로부터 나아가는 방향에 해당하는 선택된 위치에 음원 없이도 음파의 시 공간적 집속을 수행하는 방법이다. 하지만 가상 음원 배열 개념을 이용한 시역전 처리 방법은 가상 음원 배열에 해당하는 임계각 및 근거리를 벗어나는 범위로의 음파 집속이 불가능하다는 제약 조건이 따른다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 제약 조건을 해결하기 위해, 도파관 불변성 이론을 가상 음원 배열 개념에 적용하여 집속 음장의 수평 방향으로의 이동을 통해 임계각 및 근거리를 벗어나는 구간으로의 음파 집속 방법에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 수치 실험의 결과를 통해 본 연구의 타당성을 검증하였으며, 기존의 가상 음원 배열 개념의 제약 조건에 관계없이 선택된 위치에서의 강인한 음파 집속 성능의 결과를 보였다.

농림위성을 위한 기계학습을 활용한 복사전달모델기반 대기보정 모사 알고리즘 개발 및 검증: 식생 지역을 위주로 (Machine Learning-Based Atmospheric Correction Based on Radiative Transfer Modeling Using Sentinel-2 MSI Data and ItsValidation Focusing on Forest)

  • Compact Advanced Satellite 500-4 (CAS500-4) is scheduled to be launched to collect high spatial resolution data focusing on vegetation applications. To achieve this goal, accurate surface reflectance retrieval through atmospheric correction is crucial. Therefore, a machine learning-based atmospheric correction algorithm was developed to simulate atmospheric correction from a radiative transfer model using Sentinel-2 data that have similarspectral characteristics as CAS500-4. The algorithm was then evaluated mainly for forest areas. Utilizing the atmospheric correction parameters extracted from Sentinel-2 and GEOKOMPSAT-2A (GK-2A), the atmospheric correction algorithm was developed based on Random Forest and Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LGBM). Between the two machine learning techniques, LGBM performed better when considering both accuracy and efficiency. Except for one station, the results had a correlation coefficient of more than 0.91 and well-reflected temporal variations of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (i.e., vegetation phenology). GK-2A provides Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) and water vapor, which are essential parameters for atmospheric correction, but additional processing should be required in the future to mitigate the problem caused by their many missing values. This study provided the basis for the atmospheric correction of CAS500-4 by developing a machine learning-based atmospheric correction simulation algorithm.

서울시 공공자전거 공유시스템(PBSS)의 시공간적 이용 패턴 분석 - 서울시 여의도동을 중심으로 - (Spatio-Temporal Patterns of a Public Bike Sharing System in Seoul - Focusing on Yeouido District -)

  • 세계적으로 공공자전거 공유시스템(PBSS) 및 프로그램(PBSP)이 증가하면서 다양한 정책과 연구들이 진행되었다. 오늘날 PBSS가 일상생활에서 밀접하게 이용되면서 다양한 현상과 수요가 발생하고 있으나, 아직 국내에서는 통근통학에 초점을 맞춘 정책과 연구들이 주로 이루어지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 다양한 PBSS 수요를 파악하기 위해서 서울시 여의도를 대상으로 2018년도 한 해 동안 발생한 PBSS 이용 데이터를 분석하여 이용 패턴을 유형화하고 특징을 분석하였다. 서울시에서 제공하는 PBSS 자료를 기반으로 주중/주말 이용률에 따라 대여소를 3개 유형으로 구분하여 각각의 특징을 분석하였다. 여의도의 PBSS는 이용량의 경우에는 서울시 전체에서 4.3%, 대여소 개소수의 경우에는 2%에 해당하는 것으로 나타났다. 주중 이용률이 높은 대여소는 다른 유형에 비하여 사계절 모두 높은 이용률을 보였으며, 업무 및 주거지역에 주로 분포하였다. 주말 이용률이 높은 대여소의 경우에는 봄(4~5월)과 가을(9~10월)에 집중된 이용 패턴이 나타났으며, 대여소에서 공원입구까지의 거리가 가까운 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 주중 이용률이 높은 패턴에 비해서 동일한 대여소를 통해 대여 및 반납이 이루어진 경우가 많고, 특정 대여소에 PBSS 이용이 집중된 쏠림현상이 나타나고 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서, 획일적인 PBSS 운영보다는 대여소별로 다양한 이용수요와 현상을 반영한 PBSS의 관리와 프로그램이 운영되어야 할 것이다. 본 연구결과는 PBSS 이용에 대한 수요를 유형에 따라 시공간적으로 파악함으로써 효과적인 PBSS 운영이 이루어질 수 있도록 기초자료를 제공하는 것에 의의가 있다.

혼합 편광빔과 원주면렌즈를 사용한 SPPCM의 성능 개선 (Improvement of the performance of SPPCM using mixed polarized beam and cylindrical lens)

  • Cat형 SPPCM(selfpumped phase conjugate mirror)의 응답시간을 개선시키기 위한 기존의 방법은 원주면 렌즈를 사용하여 패팅 (fanning) 빔을 증가시키는 방법이었다. 그러나, 이 경우에 SPPCM의 특성들을 개선시키기 위해서는 패닝빔을 제어해 주어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 원주면 렌즈를 사용하여 입력빔을 선형으로 광굴절 결정에 접속시켜 SPPCM의 반사율을 증가시키고 응답시간을 감소시키며, 순수한 이상 편광빔 대신 혼합 편광빔을 입사시킴으로써 출력빔의 시간 불안정도를 감소시키는 방법을 제안하였다. 광실험을 통하여 제안한 SPPCM의 반사율이 2배로 증가하고 응답시간은 1/15로 감소함을 확인하였다. 또한, 혼합 편광빔의 편광 각을 $10^{\circ}$에서 $30^{\circ}$ 사이의 각도로 하였을 때 시간 불안정도가 감소함을 확인하였다. 광실험에서 전기광학 계수가 매우 큰 $45^{\circ}-cut\;BaTiO_3$ 결정을 사용하였다.

일제말기 근대비판 담론의 시간성 연구: 세계사·전통·비상시 (A Study of Temporality of a Critical Discourse on the Modern in the Late Japanese Colonial Period)

  • In the late Japanese colonial period, from the Sino-Japanese War until the Pacific War, critical discourses on the modern were prevalent in Japan and the Joseon. Despite the absence of a consensus about the specific definition of the modern, most thinkers agreed that the modern was something to be overcome. While some regarded naturalism and capitalism of the West as the essence of the modern, some others named scientism and humanism as the nature of the western modernity. Additionally, some criticized the temporal concept of historicism and brought new meanings of 'tradition' into relief, and some others advocated overcoming 'the West inherent in us'. This study is to consider the temporality of the theory of overcoming the modern focusing on the following three notions-world history, tradition, and emergency-, and examines the antinomy of them. The first notion to consider is 'world history'. The theorists of overcoming the modern, including the Kyoto school, discarded the progressive ideology that had led the Western modern history, and instead introduced 'world history' as a new notion. Although this resulted from the imperialistic embracement of the theories of Ranke, a major positivist historian from Germany, it contained antinomy of remaining in 'history' which was the modern temporal view. The second notion is 'tradition'. While the critical mind of 'world history' brought 'time of world' into question in the context of temporal realization, the notion of 'tradition' was to understand 'time of history' itself as the modern and overcome it. The critical mind of the notion involves the attempts to criticize regarding history as a 'progressive' process and to discover tradition as 'the present past' or 'the eternal present'. However, it also contained antinomy; the 'tradition' here was a notion that was created in the modern times, not passed down from ancient times. The third notion to consider is 'emergency', which was a method to define the present time as a transition period toward a new era, relating to states of war. However, the theorists of overcoming the modern did not regard 'emergency' as a particular time that strayed from normal states, instead they thought is as 'a regularized exceptional state', namely 'a state in which exceptions have become regulations'. However, the notion also contained antinomy since the word 'emergency' connotes abnormality.

정수생태계의 지형적인 요인 변화와 윤충류 출현 종 수 및 개체군 밀도 변동에 대한 연구 (Time Series Patterns and Clustering of Rotifer Community in Relation with Topographical Characteristics in Lentic Ecosystems)

  • 본 연구에서는 호소의 환경 특성 및 시간에 따른 동물 플랑크톤 윤충류 군집 변동 특성을 분석하기 위해, 전라남도에 위치하여 유사한 기상 조건을 가지나 규모와 수질 환경이 서로 다른 29개 호소를 선정, 2008년부터 2016년까지 분기별 윤충류 출현 개체수 및 종 수의 시계열 자료를 수집하였다. 조사기간 중 각 호소의 윤충류 출현 개체수 및 종 수의 범위, 이상치 및 변동계수(CV)를 비교하였으며, 동적 시간 워핑(dtw) 분석을 통해 각 호소의 윤충류 군집 시계열 경향을 비교하여 유사 정도를 바탕으로 분류(clustering)하고, 주성분 분석을 통해 분류된 호소의 환경 특성과의 관계를 분석하였다. 윤충류 개체수에서 보다 빈번한 이상치 출현과 높은 변동성을 보인 호소에는 상대적으로 저수용량이 적은 소규모 호소가 많았던 반면, 출현종 수에서는 뚜렷한 경향이 관찰되지 않았다. 타 호소들과 윤충류 개체수의 시간적 변동 경향이 상이하게 나타난 일부 호소들에서 화학적 산소 요구량(COD)과 양의 상관관계를, 식물플랑크톤 현존량 변동 및 지각류 상대풍부도 변동과 음의 상관관계를 갖는 것으로 나타나 윤충류 출현 개체수의 시계열 경향에 영향을 미치는 잠재적인 요인으로 분석되었다.
