The purpose of this study is to improve thermal environment of telecommunication equipment rooms that hold TDX-10, TDX-100, 5ESS-2000, PCM of the latest telecommunication equipment. Analysis program is used the commercial CFD code, Star-CD and DOE-2.1E. The result has been compared by the energy consumption and the temperature contour at the 1 m height of room for each case. Different methods such as the relocation of the existing air-conditioner, the inflow of the ambient air into room, the installation of the forced fan and the cooling system equipment of the duct-connection type have been used to test for improvement of thermal environment. The analysis shows that most efficient method is the inflow of the ambient air into room but auxiliary equipment should be needed to prevent the local thermal spot.

The beta-amyloid protein ($A_{\beta}$) is well known for main cause of Alzheimer disease (AD). Generally, detection of $A_{\beta}$ is carried out by using fluorescent material or DNA test, but these process is long time and expensive process. Therefore, in this research, we investigated the simple diagnosis method to detect the $A_{\beta}$ by using photo-transistor.

We have prepared CIGS thin film absorber layers with simple solution spray deposition technique and thin film were synthesized with different atomic ratio. CIGS thin films were synthesized using non-vacuum solution deposition method on pre-heated sodalime glass substrates and Mo-coated soadlime glass substrate. In precursor solution were Cu : In : Ga: S ratio 4 : 3 : 2 : 8 and the crystal type of sprayed thin film were CIGS chalcopyrite structures. This structure was identified as typical chalcopyrite tetragonal structure with XRD analysis. This result showed that CIGS solution deposition technique has potential for the one step synthesis and low cost fabrication process for CIS or CIGS thin film absorber layer.

This paper presents a lattice reduction aided (LRA) MIMO receiver using dual basis. By reducing the basis of channel inversion matrix which directly boosts the noise power, the LRA-MIMO receiver using dual basis has better performance than that using primal basis.

A new diversity technique is proposed for multi-user single-input single-output (SISO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) uplink system. Each user transmit a symbol using frequency band of all users that are active in the uplink. In addition, a receiver detect each signal using maximum likelihood (ML) method. Simulation results show that the proposed technique improves a diversity order without an additional bandwidth and a loss of data rate.

TX/RX dual microstrip 1$\times$8 sub-array antennas are designed, fabricated, and measured for a wideband array antennas in communications. They have a Right Handed Circular Polarization (RHCP) for TX from 7.9 to 8.4 GHz and Left Handed Circular Polarization (LHCP) for RX from 7.25 to 7.75 GHz. Two stacked patches are used for a wideband characteristics and cornertruncated square patches are adopted for a circular polarization. To enhance bandwidth characteristics of a circular polarization, 1$\times$2 sequential rotation arrays are applied. From the measured results, 1$\times$8 microstrip sub-array antennas have a good agreement with those of the simulation. Therefore the sub-array antennas are applicable to satellite communication antennas, active phased array antennas, and radiators in other antennas.

This paper proposes an adaptive pricing system with scheduling to balance the demand for contents and to realize an effective use of resources in contents delivery networks. In the proposed adaptive pricing system, the table of the service levels and prices (tariff) is shown to each user at the start of service and each user chooses one of the service classes. These prices are decided adaptively reflecting the congestion state of the networks. Then, by the proposed scheduling algorithm, these requests are scheduled so as to keep the service level agreements completely.

Economists have advocated that the privatization and market competitiveness improve the firm's productivity and eventually its service quality. However, the previous researches did not provide the empirical results enough to prove that the privatization and competitiveness do improve the service quality. In this paper, we conducted an empirical research to find whether the privatization and competition induces the quality of service. The mobile telecommunication industry was chosen since it went through bringing the privatization and increasing the competition along with a high attention. We found that the privatization and competition itself does not guarantee the quality of mobile telecommunication service. It is the intensity of competition that improves the mobile telecommunication service quality. The service quality depends mainly on the competitor's competence, i.e. the intensity of competition rather than the competition itself. In sum, when we want to improve the service quality as well as the productivity, we had better increase the intensity of competition by allowing many new strong entries.

Transceiver optimization in multiple input multiple output (MIMO) cognitive systems is studied in this paper. The joint transceiver beamformer design is introduced to minimize the transmit power at secondary base station (SBS) while simultaneously controlling the interference to primary users (PUs) and satisfying the secondary users (SUs) signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) based on the convex optimization method. Due to the limited cooperation between SBS and PUs, the channel state information (CSI) usually cannot be obtained perfectly at the SBS in cognitive system. In this study, both perfect and imperfect CSI scenarios are considered in the beamformer design, and the proposed method is robust to CSI error. Numerical results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Large-area high-temperature superconducting (HTS) films, filter design and damage-free processing technique have been developed to fabricate low insertion loss and sharp skirt filters. Further, long life cryocooler, low temperature low noise amplifier (LNA) and cryocable have been developed to assemble HTS filter subsystem for IS-95 and IMT-2000 mobile telecommunication. The surface resistance of the films was about 0.2 milli-ohm at 70 K, 12 GHz. An 11-pole HTS filter for IS-95 telecommunication system and a 16-pole HTS filter for IMT-2000 telecommunication system were designed and fabricated using 60 {\times}$ 50 mm$^2$ and one half of 3-inch diameter YBCO films on a 0.5-mm-thick MgO substrate, respectively. We have assembled the filter and low temperature LNA in a dewar with the cryocooler. Ultra low-noise (noise figure: 0.5 dB at 70 K) and ultra sharp-skirt (40 dB/1.5 MHz) performance was presented by the IS-95 filter subsystem and the IMT-2000 filter subsystem, respectively.
