The trade deficit in mushrooms has continued to increase in recent years. This study explored major issues and challenges faced by the mushroom industry to increase export, and to prioritize the current issues and challenges based on their relative importance. 11 major issues and challenges in the mushroom industry were highlighted in focus group interviews. Best-worst scaling analysis prioritized these major issues and challenges, and questionnaire surveys were completed by 31 mushroom industry experts. The results revealed that strengthening the mushroom quality and price competitiveness were the main priorities, followed sequentially by a diversification of the overseas export markets and stabilization of the domestic mushroom price.
Due to the increased water demand and severe drought as an effect of the global warming, the effluent from wastewater treatment plants becomes considered as an alternative water source to supply agricultural, industrial, and public (gardening) water demand. The effluent from the wastewater treatment plant is a sustainable water source because of its good quality and stable amount of water discharge. In this study, the water reuse system was developed to minimize total construction cost to cope with the uncertain water demand in future using two-stage stochastic linear programming with binary variables. The pipes in the water reuse network were constructed in two stages of which in the first stage, the water demands of users are assumed to be known, while the water demands in the second stage have uncertainty in the predicted value. However, the water reuse system has to be designed now when the future water demands are not known precisely. Therefore, the construction of a pipe parallel with the existing one was allowed to meet the increased water demands in the second stage. As a result, the trade-off of construction costs between a pipe with large diameter and two pipes having small diameters was evaluated and the optimal solution was found. Three scenarios for the future water demand were selected and a hypothetical water reuse network considering the uncertainties was optimized. The results provide the information about the economies of scale in the water reuse network and the long range water supply plan.
International Standardization in all technical area is gaining its momentum as its impact and implication over global trade is directly linked. The worldwide competition to secure a dominant position in the standardization process is ever growing over the years. In 2005, the International Technical Committee on Nuclear Instrumentation, which is a subunit of International Electro-technical Commission (IEC), was held in Korea under the auspices of MOST (Ministry of Science and Technology). Korea has adopted its Rule and Regulation as the National Standard. As a part of a link to National Mid-and Long-term Atomic Energy R&D Program of MOST, the technical development of a performance test for the radiation monitors was carried out under mechanical environment and electromagnetic immunity conditions. The characteristics of the radiation fields were also evaluated under the conditions and introduced to a techniques of performance test for the radiation protection instrumentation adopted IEC61526 standards and it's results was analyzed. We would like to share the experience gained in these efforts, failure as well as success, and to discuss the problems encountered and serious consideration to be taken into account in the future endeavor.
Purpose - Since Korean distribution market was opened, the domestic environment in department stores has been changed by the pattern of consumption and consumer need based on income classes. As multilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA) accelerates opening markets, the scale of circulating capital has become bigger. Large-scale commercial facilities have developed quickly as a form of a large shopping center, thus, the matter of choice and securing market area became an important valuable in this trend. Moreover, multi-complex space has been proposed as the goal of successful business with promoting the public benefit. Research design, data, and methodology - This research studied consumer behavior using data about the life style and sales of consumers, not statistical data or survey as previous studies. This research tried to find the differentiation in complex cultural space with consumption behavior of department store. Results - As the structure of society and culture was getting diverse and complex, economic growth and development with such diversity and complexity improved consumers' quality of life. The changes of consumer life style are quite natural like human instinct. Department stores have activated retail business with the products of accumulated technology. Moreover, they have created the space of consumption and culture. Because of these social and environmental changes, department stores are being developed as Multi-functional spaces as well as sale places considering the strategies of department and the changes of consumers' purchasing behaviors. Conclusions - Urban culture complex is a landmark standing for the culture era of 21st century. It has provided an opportunity for consumers to enjoy culture, and has been an important factor to improve company images. Based on these roles and needs, expectancy effects are related with consumer preference and space preference, and the attitude toward companies. Moreover, the expectancy effects from those relationships are getting bigger and bigger. We should respect nature, a characteristic of Korean architecture, maintain visual continuity that harmonies with nature in the development of the complex space of the domestic department stores, and should take significance in the development of the complex cultural space in the direction of feeling the hierarchy of the space to obtain the visual pleasure with the artificial structure.
The purpose of this study was to empirically analyze relations between color changes in the product specification and demand changes with price elasticity in the Chinese mobile phone market. In previous studies on price elasticity, the usual analysis units were product categories or SBU within a given product category. Unlike them, the this study set an analysis unit of price elasticity to focus on colors, which are investigated in the research fields of experiential marketing, aesthetic marketing, and cognitive psychology. Actual sales data according to the mobile phone price changes by the color were based on the sales volume of a sales agency at China's largest B2C site. The findings were as follows: first, price elasticity according to the six colors was higher than the absolute value of 1, which means that demands made flexible reactions to price changes. Secondly, there were differences in price elasticity according to the colors. Aroma white color made the smallest increase in sales volume at the same price discount, whereas diamond color made the biggest increase in sales in the same price discount scope. These findings indicate that more profit can be generated in mobile phone sales in China by setting different price discount or increase rates according to colors or producing different amounts of mobile phones according to colors. Distributors or sales agents can have a chance for higher profit by ordering and selling mobile phones in certain colors than others from mobile phone manufacturers. The academic findings indicates that there are differences in preference and price elasticity according to colors under the mobile phone category in the Chinese market, which means that the present study made an academic contribution by proposing a microscopic analysis unit for product price elasticity and expanding its concept.

It has widely been recognized that the EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea was a succeeded mega event, according to, at least, the international media's attention and reports. This study analysed and compared the trends of the international media's reports on Yeosu in terms of before, preparing, during, and, after periods of the event, through a semantic network analysis. It was revealed that the images of Yeosu have dramatically been upgraded. The city of Yeosu, before the event, was a small port city of South Korea's southern part of peninsula. The city, after the nomination for the next host city of the exposition, was described to a city who had a full potentiality to host a world exposition, not a southern port city of South Korea. After the event was opened, Yeosu was a city of cutting-edge technology and cultural creativity, who had contributed to solve our humankind's pending ecological problems. Even after the events closed, Yeosu was continuously impressed as a ex-city of world exposition, a hub city of Asia trade, and a center for marine ecological restoration. It was suggested that extended monitoring, differentiated communication strategies, long-term planning, and professionalization of the staffs.
This study investigates the initiatives of Gangwon sea routes based on precedent studies on the North Pole route to suggest a multi-modal buildup of transport logistics network of Gangwon harbors for the strengthening of logistics efficiency in the Korean Peninsula. The findings were: First, the government should expand railway infrastructure in Gangwon. Second, harbors in Gangwon should each have one speciality to strengthen connection with other harbors by using railway oriented background transportation network. Third, the government should develop industries of EFEZ(East coast Free Economic Zone) in the East Sea Coast in Gangwon to connect resources from the North Pole Sea. Fourth, the government should invite the base of Araon Ho's polar research vessel to play the role of the North Pole Sea route in the near future. Fifth, the government should strengthen the role of the Samcheock LNG base under construction. SIxth, environment-friendly transportation technology should be introduced to reduce carbon emission as much as possible. Lastly, an optimum North Pole logistics route should be developed to connect the Metropolitan area(Metropolitan Economic Zone), Gangwon roads and railway, Gangwon habor, Trans-Siberian Railway and thw North Pole route, and Europe, to strengthen national foreign trade power in the near future.
To diversify the agro-food exports of Korea, this study selected Russia, which is located closet to CIS countries, as a sampling area and sought ways to promote the export of Korean hang over drinks to Russia. This study analyzed the contributing factors to the export, such as Russian consumers' purchasing intentions, as well as the willingness to pay of korean hang over drinks in Russia, using the paper review and on-off line survey data correction method. Major results are as follows. First, Russian consumers' intention of purchasing Korean hang over drinks is higher than Europe and the other products. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the demographic characteristics of Russian consumers and then actively use niche marketing strategies. Second, the purchase intention of Russian consumers towards increased when buying behavior occurred in supermarket, hypermarket- and convenience stores. Third, it seems prefer to pricing of Korean hang over drinks in Russian export market similar to the domestic price level.

This paper suggests the optimal generation dispatch algorithm for ensuring voltage stability margin considering high wind energy injection. Generally, with wind generation being installed into the power system, we would have to consider several factors such as the voltage stability margin because wind turbine generators are mostly induction machines. If the proportion of wind generation increases in the power system increases this would affect the overall stability of the system including the voltage stability. This paper considers a specific system that is composed of two areas: area 1 and area 2. It is assumed that generation cost in area 1 is relatively higher than that in area 2. From an economic point of view generation in area 1 should be decreased, however, in the stability point of view the generation in area 2 should be decreased. Since the power system is a nonlinear system, it is very difficult to find the optimal solution and the genetic algorithm is adopted to solve the objective function that is composed of a cost function and a function concerned with voltage stability constraints. For the simulations, the New England system was selected. The algorithm is implemented and Python 2.5.
SNS allowed users to serve not only as the content and message producer but as the consumer, with development into various types of SNS platforms. Instead of a traditional media structure of media-to-many and unspecified users, it also made it possible to achieve one-to-one or one-to-many interactions, regardless of time and space, through SNS platforms. Moreover, according to development of digital communication technology, IT, media contents and communication network have been mutually connected, though they were once separate. The changes in communication environments have caused rapid disorganization and reorganization in popular culture led by specific expert groups. Such trend has a greater influence on marketing strategies of enterprises. In other words, it will lead them to mostly introduce new information technologies, based on consumer market, and to strategically participate in SNS for promotion and marketing for their products and brands. Likewise, SNS has currently appeared as the main media affecting consumers' behaviors. In consideration of the importance of SNS features, which can stimulate responses of other users, analysis of main features affecting SNS user acceptance decision is required, as well as its utilization strategies. Accordingly, this study conducted division of SNS features into openness, quickness, interactiveness and economical efficiency to derive strategies for increasing the usage frequency of SNS and ultimately maximizing the expectation effect, in addition to an empirical analysis of effects of SNS features on usefulness, easiness and pleasure perceived in SNS, and SNS user intention.
