한국 임상병리사들의 은퇴 기대 조사 (An Investigation of Retirement Expectation among Medical Technologists in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 서울경기지역의 의료기관에 근무하는 임상병리사 158명을 대상으로 은퇴기대에 영향을 미치는 요인을 찾고자 자기기입식 설문조사를 실시하였다. 학력수준과 경제적 준비는 음의 상관성을 보였으나 성별, 월 소득 수준은 은퇴기대수준에 미치지 않는 요인이었다. 좌절감 수준에서는 연령과 근로시간 면에서 유의한 증가를 보였으며, 교육수준과 결혼 상태는 은퇴 준비에 미치는 요인이나 은퇴 기대에는 연관성이 없음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서, 연령, 교육수준, 가족, 은퇴기대 조건이 상호 연관성을 미치는 요인임을 알 수 있었다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 의료현장의 임상병리사들이 향후 은퇴기대 및 은퇴준비를 위해 영향인자를 발굴하는 기초정보를 제공하였고 향후 은퇴를 위한 교육, 심리적 수준, 직업특성을 고려하는 연구가 추가되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

Reconstruction of Radiation Dose Received by Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists in Korea

  • Objectives: Diagnostic medical radiation workers in Korea have been officially monitored for their occupational radiation doses since 1996. The purpose of this study was to design models for reconstructing unknown individual radiation doses to which diagnostic radiation technologists were exposed before 1996. Methods: Radiation dose reconstruction models were developed by using cross-sectional survey data and the personal badge doses of 8167 radiologic technologists. The models included calendar year and age as predictors, and the participants were grouped into six categories according to their sex and facility type. The annual doses between 1971 and 1995 for those who were employed before 1996 were estimated using these models. Results: The calendar year and age were inversely related to the estimated radiation doses in the models of all six groups. The annual median estimated doses decreased from 9.45 mSv in 1971 to 1.26 mSv in 1995, and the associated dose variation also decreased with time. The estimated median badge doses from 1996 (1.22 mSv) to 2011 (0.30 mSv) were similar to the measured doses (1.68 mSv to 0.21 mSv) for the same years. Similar results were observed for all six groups. Conclusions: The reconstruction models developed in this study may be useful for estimating historical occupational radiation doses received by medical radiologic technologists in Korea.

방사선사의 전직의사와 관련된 요인분석 (Factors affecting the Intention of transfering of Radiology Technologists to Different Institutions)

  • This study attempts to analyze the factors affecting the intention of transferring to another hospitals among radiology technologists. 344 cases were reviewed in 5 university hospitals and 1 general hospital. Self-administered questionaire were given to study the socioeconomic characteristics, working conditions, job satisfaction level, and the reasons for transfer among the technologists. The major findings were as follows : 1. Job position and hospital characteristics had a statistically significant relationship with the intention of transferring to another hospital. 2. Those who were not satisfied with their salaries and promotional opportunity showed a higher tendency towards to transfer. 3. Those who were less satisfied with the opportunity for developing the personal ability and had the negative attitude on their job showed a higher tendency to transfer. 4. Those who did not sustain good relationship with their superiors and co-workers scored high on the tendency to transfer. 5. In the result of mutiple regression, recognition of radiation hazard, job satisfaction, satisfaction with salary levels, job attitude were significantly related to transfer. The above indicate that besides economic incentives, job satisfaction and organizational culture to promote their ability and form a good relationship with organization members were very important to decrease the intention of transfer. Since these results represent only 6 hospitals from a limited area, more hospitals nationwide, especially small and medium-sized institutions where there is a high turnover rate of employment, need to be examined in order to investigate the various factors that affect the intention of transferring.

  • This study concerns the present possession of CT and MRI machines in Daegu and the technologists' awareness of Quality Control. the study was conducted by visiting forty medical institutions as well as a survey. The survey was carried out by technologists responsible for CT and MRI. CT and MRI machines have only been used in medical institutions in Daegu for a short period. The study revealed that most of them have been acquired by those institutions recently. Most of the technologists who participated in the study are aware of the (prescribed) Quality Control measures and conduct regular inspections in accordance with the quality control chart, however some of them do not.

대학병원 임상병리사의 감정노동 및 직무만족도와 소진의 관련성 (Relationships of Emotional Labor, Job Satisfaction and Burnout among Medical Technologists in a University Hospital)

  • 본 연구는 대학병원에 근무하는 임상병리사들의 감정노동, 직무만족도, 소진수준과의 관련성을 파악하고자 대전광역시에 소재한 4개 대학병원에서 근무하고 있는 임상병리사 145명을 대상으로 2013년 4월 10일부터 19일까지의 기간 동안에 표준화된 자기기입식 설문지(self-administered questionnaire)를 이용한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 소진에 영향을 미치는 변수들의 설명력은 인구사회학적 특성 및 건강관련행위특성변수가 투입됨으로서 21.7%의 설명력을 증가시켰고, 다음으로 감정노동 하위변수가 투입됨으로서 16.8%, 직무만족도 하위변수가 투입됨으로서 8.2%의 설명력을 증가시키고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과로 보아 소진에 영향을 주는 변수로는 감정노동이 직무만족도보다 높은 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 임상병리사들의 감정노동에 대한 관리가 필요하다고 사료된다.

A MODEL FOR PROTECTIVE BEHAVIOR AGAINST THE HARMFUL EFFECTS OF RADIATION FOR RADIOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGISTS IN MEDICAL CENTERS

  • Protective behavior of radiological technologists against radiation exposure is important to achieve reduction of the patient doses without compromising medical achievements. This study attempts to provide a basic model for the sophisticated intervention strategy that increases the level of the protective behavior of the technologists. The model was applied to real situations in Korea to demonstrate its utility. The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, the protective environment showed the highest relationship in the factors considered, r=0.637 (p<0.01). Secondly, the important factors were protective environment in environment characteristics, expectation for the protective behavior 0.228 (p<0.001), self-efficacy 0.142 (p<0.001), and attitude for the protective behavior 0.178 (p<0.001) in personal characteristics, and daily patient -0.112 (p<0.001) and number of the participation in the education session for the protective behavior 0.074 (p<0.05). Thirdly, the final protective behavior model by a path analysis method had direct influence on the attitude 0.171 (p<0.01) and environment 0.405 (p<0.01) for the protective behavior, self efficacy 0.122 (p<0.01), expectation for the protective behavior 0.16 (p<0.01), and self-efficacy in the specialty of projects 0.154 (p<0.01). The acceptance of the model determined by the absolute fit index (GFI), 0.969, and by the incremental fit index (CFI), 0.943, showed very significant levels. Value of $x^2$/df that is a factor applied to verify the acceptance of the model was 37, which implies that the result can be accepted in the desirable range. In addition, the parsimonious fit index configured by AGFI (0.890) and TLI (0.852) was also considered as a scale that accepts the model in practical applications. In case of the establishment of some specific intervention strategies based on the protective behavior model against harmful radiation effects proposed in this study, the strategy will provide an effective way to prevent medical harmful radiation effects that could cause severe injuries to people.

방사선사의 임금 적정성 및 직무 만족도 (The Appropriateness of Wage and Job Satisfaction of Radiological Technologists)

  • This study aims to provide the basic data helpful for the improvement of rights and interests of radiological technologists, by understanding the current working environment and if they get the proper reward through the analysis on the perception of appropriateness of current wage and job satisfaction of radiological technologists. Survey was conducted to evaluate the perception of satisfaction with job and wage system, work intensity, necessity of the radiological technologist limit system, and turnover in accordance. The appropriate starting salary was low in case of women and non-capital area, and when the age, academic background, career, and hospital size were lower. The appropriate wage was low in case of women and non-capital area, and when the academic background and hospital size were lower. The negative perception of the necessity to change the wage system was shown in university hospitals. Regarding the work intensity, in case of women and low career, and when the age, academic background, and hospital size were higher, the work intensity was perceived as high. When the academic degree and hospital size were lower, the positive perception of the radiological technologist limit was shown. The turnover intention was high in case of women, and when the age, academic background, career, and hospital size were lower. In order to increase the job satisfaction of radiological technologists, it would be necessary to the appropriate reward and the environment where they could concentrate on work.
