An Implementation of K-Means Algorithm Improving Cluster Centroids Decision Methodologies (클러스터 중심 결정 방법을 개선한 K-Means 알고리즘의 구현)

  • K-Means algorithm is a non-hierarchical (plat) and reassignment techniques and iterates algorithm steps on the basis of K cluster centroids until the clustering results converge into K clusters. In its nature, K-Means algorithm has characteristics which make different results depending on the initial and new centroids. In this paper, we propose the modified K-Means algorithm which improves the initial and new centroids decision methodologies. By evaluating the performance of two algorithms using the 16 weighting scheme of SMART system, the modified algorithm showed $20{\%}$ better results on recall and F-measure than those of K-Means algorithm, and the document clustering results are quite improved.

  • This article is a study on methods of digitalization for older oriental books using XML (extensible Markup Language) proposed as a standard for Web documents by W3C in 1996. In this paper, to digitalize older books, 1 designed the XML DTD(Document Type Definition) for general older oriental books and input the texts of the older books on the basis of the XML DTD, examined the problems and limitations in light of the technical level these days, and established the model of the system for using XML files of older oriental books at a national level in the future.

  • Problem of compatibility, contents protection, contents circulation etc. was caused between contents offerer and consumers by indiscreet rights technical development about digital contents. Therefore, MPEG-21 framework proposed the REL(Right Expression Language) based on XML(eXtensible Markup Language) by rights expression language for rights management. We designed and implemented of the REL document editing system that rights creation and edit are available efficiently about contents easily without comprehension of MPEG-21 framework and client system that present consumption method of REL document.

Methods of Extracting and Providing R&D Documentation Guideline for Licensing Medical Device Software

  • The safety and performance of medical device software is managed through life-cycle processes, which represent the entire process of research and development (R&D). The life-cycle process of medical device software is represented by an international standard called IEC 62304, ISO/IEC 12207. In order to license the product, the manufacturer must have document artifacts that comply with the IEC 62304 standard. However, these standards only describe the content of the activity and do not provide a method or procedure for documentation. Therefore, this paper suggests R&D documentation guidelines that assist medical device software developers to have R&D documents conforming to the standards. For this purpose, this study identifies the requirements related to documentation among the requirements existing in the standard and extracts them in the form of guidelines showing only the core information of the requirements. In addition, through the Web framework implemented based on this research, the developer can evaluate whether the technical documents are written in accordance with the R&D document guidelines. Medical device software manufacturers can efficiently produce high-quality research and development documents through R&D documentation guidelines, and they can have standards-compliantresearch and development documentation required for licensing procedures.

XML-based Variable Data Publishing System with Dynamic Editing and Formatting Function (동적 편집과 포맷팅 기능을 갖는 XML 기반의 가변 데이터 출판 시스템)

  • Existing XML-based variable data publishing, in which a user has to manually prepare and edit template rules, is rather difficult for general users to create documents. Especially when processing large variable XML documents such as manuals or technical documents, fast document formatting is required to provide fast response speed for editing, which the existing batch processing cannot provide. This paper proposes a variable data publishing system with dynamic editing and formatting function, which support fast formatting upon user's request for large volume documents as well as for template editing through interaction by displaying the result of template-based variable documents on WYSIWYG screen. Proposed system can be effectively used for creating customized documents with many variable data that can be changed according to individual characteristics such as individual, company or area; source documents, template documents and formatted documents adopt XML, XSLT and XPath standards suggested by W3C, which facilitates extension to web document processing system.

Latent Semantic Indexing Analysis of K-Means Document Clustering for Changing Index Terms Weighting (색인어 가중치 부여 방법에 따른 K-Means 문서 클러스터링의 LSI 분석)

  • In the information retrieval system, document clustering technique is to provide user convenience and visual effects by rearranging documents according to the specific topics from the retrieved ones. In this paper, we clustered documents using K-Means algorithm and present the effect of index terms weighting scheme on the document clustering. To verify the experiment, we applied Latent Semantic Indexing approach to illustrate the clustering results and analyzed the clustering results in 2-dimensional space. Experimental results showed that in case of applying local weighting, global weighting and normalization factor, the density of clustering is higher than those of similar or same weighting schemes in 2-dimensional space. Especially, the logarithm of local and global weighting is noticeable.

  • This article provides detailed instructions for the correct installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of capillary gas chromatography (GC) columns. It emphasizes the importance of proper installation to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the column. The document covers various aspects such as column trimming, installation, conditioning, testing, storage, and ferrule selection. The installation process involves ensuring that the heated zones of the GC are cool before placing the column cage in the column oven. It is essential to avoid sharp bends or stress on the capillary column during installation and to connect the front end of the column into the GC inlet at the recommended insertion distance.   • This paper propose the "Digital Format Registry(DFR)" to solve the problem related digital objects preservation system in the Korean Industry. Digital format registry is a kind of database that saves syntax and meaning informations of a digital file format and for giving help to make preserve in long-term even technical environment of a specific application has been changing. The role of the Technical Information Registry has been developed in this research and development is maintaining a technical information that is the foundation to maintain the long-term preservation and access to a digital objects. The function that can extract text information from a digital document object is implemented in DFR as a basic function at the first time in the world. This function make information consumers search a information that is needed easily and conveniently and can be used for development more effective records management system with retrieving the Key(index).

  • This research aims to find an optimal space program and analysis of optimal land of the national model of the scientific and technical information center. And the objective of this study is to contribute to strengthen the need of the building of information center and provide operation programs and vision toward information center which will be established later. We suggested a basic plan of scale and space program for proper space uses and optimal facilities and state-ofthe-art equipment of building. Also, we selected alternative land by document study, and suggested optimal land by field works and studies.

A Comparison Study on Curriculum Contents between FAO Technical Guidelines and Korean Fisheries Management (FAO 수산 가이드라인과 국내 수산경영학 교과와 내용 구성의 비교 연구)

  • Most of the changes that make paradigm shift have been involved international level problems related to environment, resource and structure problems in these days. Resolving those common issues the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization(UN FAO) has played most important role in fisheries with publishing the series of the technical guidelines for responsible fisheries papers. The guidelines for responsible fisheries have introduced for applying the concept of sustainable development with considering overall changes in fisheries domains. And also have objectives that establishing the discipline of fisheries worlds. Although these papers are remarkable, there is still few research or education contents of them in Korea. Fisheries business administration is a kind of social science that influenced by environmental, social changes so called paradigm shift. So one of the most important thing that has the education of sustainable development is accommodation or adaptation of them with grasping the phenomenon continuously. The aims of this study are exploring the FAO's the technical guidelines for responsible fisheries documents and contents of college's fisheries business administration and finding out the overall systematic topics and themes of fisheries business administration education. The result of this study shows that the contents of fisheries business administration did not including the concept of responsible fisheries even were out of date in using statistical data. And there is some missing issues that including fisheries policy, resource management, and related law should be enhanced. This study suggests the framework of fisheries business administration with comparing analysis on FAO's document and college's course of study in Korea. The proposed framework of major topics of fisheries business administration that still needed to be improved should be a milestone of understanding and debating the core factors of fisheries business administration education and research.
