탈(脫)추격형 공공부문 연구활동의 특성 분석 (The Analysis of the post Catch-up Research in the Public Sector)

  • Korea is in the middle of a transition from the catch-up stage to the post catch-up stage. This requires a new approach, a new perspective, and a new strategy to survive in the new environment. This research investigates the post catch-up research activities in the public sector, including universities and national research institutes. In this case study, the experts and research teams at the highest level in the world are introduced, and research environments and know-how possessed by the experts and research teams are analyzed. The cases shows that the post catch-up research teams have research patterns to open new research field and integrate prior knowledge base with new knowledges from other research field. They succeed in producing highly regarded research results and making research platform for further advanced research.

A New Team Forming Method in Engineering Design Course

  • In a basic engineering design class, first year engineering department students learn about engineering design relevant theories and carry out simple projects in teams. By doing a group project in this subject, students develop basic skills such as creativity, teamwork, communication, and problem solving. Before, class proceeded in a way where teams were randomly configured in the beginning of semester and students began working on their project immediately. However, this research introduces a new method where at the beginning of the semester, students are assigned group assignments. Teammates are randomly chosen and constantly switched so that students get a chance to work with different people and experience diverse styles and characteristics. Then, they autonomously form into teams with people they work best and carry out their project. We present the behavior of a monkey robot that recognizes emotions as a case of applying the proposed method. The feedback from the students suggest that this proposed team forming method serves to be effective especially since students who were not aware of other students' characteristics can get to know one another better and form a productive team.

지식근로자 팀효과성의 선행요인 -구성원의 인지적 유사성 vs 속인적 유사성- (The Influence of Cognitive and Demographic Similarities of Knowledge Workers on Team Effectiveness)

  • Team-members may have diverse backgrounds and characteristics and such diversity is getting increased in teams in terms of demographics(gender, age, and educations) and capabilities(knowledge, skills, and experiences). A meta-analysis of the last 40 years studies, however, concluded that diversity in teams does not have the consistent main effect on team performances. On the other hand, according to theories of selection and socialization, similarity in values, backgrounds, and experiences buttress the positive and effective working environment. Therefore, we conduct an empirical study in favor of similarity in work teams for the sake of team effectiveness. We investigated the importance of the similarity of team-members on IT team effectiveness. Two aspects of similarity, demographic and cognitive, were considered together. The shared mental model(SMM) was introduced as the representative construct for the cognitive similarity. We found that SMM is more important than the demographic similarities on team effectiveness.

공대생들의 협동학습에서 성격특성 및 창의적 문제해결스타일과 팀 창의성 (Personality Factors, Creative Problem Solving Styles, and Team Creativity)

  • This study was conducted to compare team creativity and creative problem solving styles between heterogeneous and homogeneous teams. Team composition was based on the levels of openness and extraversion. The results indicated that heterogeneous teams showed higher team creativity scores than homogeneous teams. Frequency distributions of creative problem solving styles indicated that heterogeneous team members preferred developer, external, and task-oriented styles. Homogeneous team members preferred explorer and person-oriented styles. Finally, limitations of this study and suggestions for future studies were discussed.

  • An increased use of teams of actors within complex systems has led to the emergence of various approaches for the assessment of different features associated with team performance. Over the last two decades, the performance of teams in complex systems has received considerable attention from the human factors community, and a number of methods have been developed in order to assess and evaluate team performance. The purpose of this paper is to propose a methodology for measuring team efficiency of operators in the advanced main control room of Korean nuclear power plant. Team efficiency is an index which is estimated of gabs between individual performances and team performance. The index was developed to compare among teams through past all performance measurements.

  • As construction projects have been getting larger and more complex, a single individual or organization cannot have complete knowledge or the abilities to handle all matters. Collaborative practices among heterogeneous individuals, which are temporarily congregated to carry out a project, are required in order to accomplish project objectives. These organizational knowledge creation processes of project teams should be understood from the active and dynamic viewpoint of how they create information and knowledge rather than from the passive and static input-process-output sequence. To this end, agent-based modeling and simulation which is built from the ground-up perspective can provide the most appropriate way to systematically investigate them. In this paper, agent-based modeling and simulation as a research method and a medium for representing theory is introduced. To illustrate, an agent-based simulation of the evolution of collaboration in large-scale project teams from a game theory and social network perspective is presented.

  • The characteristic aspects of learning a foreign language require special resources and tools for online learning. Criteria for choosing educational platforms depend on key elements of an academic subject area. Microsoft Teams (hereafter, MT) educational platform is competitive one because it meets most of the needs that arise during the formation of a secondary linguistic persona. Due to the large number of corporate programs, there are a successful acquisition of language skills and the implementation of all types of oral activities of students. A significant MT advantage is the constant analysis and monitoring of the platform of participants' needs in the educational process by developers. The article highlights MT advantages and disadvantages. The attention is drawn to individual programs, which, in the authors' opinion, are the most successful to learn writing, reading, speaking, listening, as well as organize classes that meet needs of modern foreign students.

조직변화와 성과 간 상호역동에 관한 연구: 미국프로농구팀의 트레이드와 플레이오프 진출 여부에 따른 조절된 매개효과 (The Dynamics of Organizational Change: Moderated Mediating Effects of NBA Teams' Playoff Berth)

  • 조직은 환경변화에 적응하고 보다 나은 성과를 거두기 위해 지속적인 조직변화를 추구해야 한다. 하지만, 당연한 명제에도 불구하고 조직성과나 변화를 조작화의 어려움 때문에 해당 연구 분야에 대한 실증분석이 거의 이루어지지 않은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 한계점을 극복하기 위해 조직변화나 성과를 객관적으로 측정하고 평가하기에 적합만 자료가 비교적 체계적으로 구축된 프로스포츠팀을 기업조직으로 상정하여 조직변화의 원인과 효과를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 미국프로농구(National Basketball Association: NBA)팀의 8개 시즌(2014~2015-2021~2022)의 경기기록 및 트레이드 자료를 체계적으로 수집하고 전처리하여 SPSS 26.0에 설치한 프로세스 매크로 4.2의 7번 모형을 활용하여 분석했다. 실증분석 결과, NBA의 경우 직전 시즌 성적이 낮은 팀일수록 트레이드를 통한 조직변화를 더욱 활발하게 시도하여 성과를 도출하기 위한 조직의 역동이 크다고 볼 수 있으며, 트레이드는 직전 시즌의 승률과 해당 시즌 승률 간의 정(+)적 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만, 트레이드를 통한 팀의 직전 시즌 성적의 간접효과는 각 구단의 상황에 따라 다르게 나타나는 것으로 드러났다. 직전 시즌 플레이오프에 진출한 팀은 그렇지 않은 팀에 비해 같은 성적일지라도 트레이드를 적게 시행하는 경향성을 보이며, 직전 시즌의 성적이 해당 시즌의 성적과 높은 관련성을 지닌다. 반면에 직전 시즌 플레이오프에 진출하지 못한 팀은 상대적으로 큰 규모의 트레이드를 단행하는 경향성을 보였으며, 이 경우 트레이드의 매개효과는 사라지는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 직전 시즌에 플레이오프 진출에 실패한 팀은 같은 승률을 달성하였더라도 플레이오프에 진출한 팀에 비해 트레이드를 통한 성적변화가 더 크게 발생한다는 것을 알 수 있다. 이러한 프로스포츠팀의 조직변화와 성과 간의 역동에 관해 실증하여 제시함으로써, 프로스포츠팀의 조직변화가 어느 시점에 더 효과적인지를 분석하였다는 점에서 이론과 실무적 시사점을 지닌다.

A Study on Relationship among Knowledge State, IT Support, Knowledge Sharing Process and Outcomes in Startup Teams

  • Start-ups do not have enough resources such as financial capital and established customer base. Knowledge base of start-up team members is the crucial and unrivaled resource. This study tries to explicate the knowledge sharing process occurring in this knowledge base of start-up teams. Adopting the knowledge process view, detail process of knowledge sharing process model is constructed consisting of knowledge sharing speed, quality and quantity in a form of nomological net and empirically tested. In addition, preceding antecedents and consequential outcomes of this knowledge sharing is also posited as part of the research model : knowledge state of the team leading to team creativity and agility via the explicated knowledge sharing process model. Also, as this knowledge based view are triggered by the advance of IT in general, IT support is conceptualized as an antecedent and measures are operationalized. 230 data points were collected from start-up teams. Via data analysis using PLS, theoretical relationships from knowledge state, IT support, knowledge sharing process and knowledge consequences are found to be empirically supported except a few not supported. Most of all, team agility and team creativity are theoretically supported and empirically validated as critical outcome variables beyond performance measures. Though agility and creativity has been discussed as critical construct in start-up teams, it has not be much validated empirically. Also, interestingly, IT support are found to be significantly impacting the knowledge sharing process as expected. Academic contributions and implications for practice are discussed at the end with limitations and further research.

프로축구 시민구단의 재무비율 분석 (Analysis for Financial Ratio of Korean Professional Soccer Citizen Teams)

  • 프로스포츠 가운데 프로축구는 1983년 출범한 이후 2008년 4월말 현재 14개 구단이 있으며, 구단 형태를 살펴보면 도민구단 1, 시민구단 3, 군 운영 1, 나머지 9개 구단은 모기업의 지원형태로 운영되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 4개 시민구단의 실제 재무제표 자료에 기초하여 재무비율 분석을 실시함으로써 실제 시민구단의 형태로 운영되고 있는 프로구단들의 경영상태의 양부(건전성)를 파악하는데 있다. 본 연구결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유동성 비율 측면에서 연도별 추이는 계속 감소 추세를 보이고 있으나 4개 시민구단의 비율평균과 표준비율을 비교하여 판단해 볼 때 양호한 수준이다. 둘째, 레버리지 비율 측면에서 볼 때 일부 시민구단의 경우 부채가 총자본을 초과하는 등 타인자본 의존도가 높아 자본구조의 불안정성을 보이고 있다. 셋째, 활동성 비율은 표준비율과 비교하여 볼 때 4개 시민구단의 각 년도 활동성 비율은 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 수익성 비율은 인천 유나이티드를 제외한 나머지 구단들이 큰 마이너스를 기록하여 수익성이 매우 저조한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 타인자본 의존도를 줄이고, 수익성 개선을 위한 노력이 요구된다. 본 연구는 새로이 창단 발표를 한 프로축구 강원 도민구단(가칭 강원 FC)에게 유용한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
