  • Objective: The purpose of this research is to explore the influence of infant teachers' teaching efficacy and sensitivity level on organizational commitment. Methods: The subjects of the study were 206 infant teachers working in pre-schools in "Region S." In the research, a survey was given out using a teaching efficacy tool used by Hee-Kyung Kwak (2011), a teacher-sensitivity measurement scale created by Kwang-Mi Min (2014), and an organizational commitment measuring tool modified and improved by Jong-Kak Lee (2013). The collected data went through the SPSS 21.0 Win Program to gather the information regarding reliability analysis, technical statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: First, the infant teachers' teaching efficacy was average, their sensitivity level was above average, and their organizational commitment was a little above average. Second, the infant teachers' teaching efficacy and the organizational commitment showed a static relation. The sensitivity level showed a static relation with affective commitment and normative commitment in organizational commitment. Third, the infant teachers' organizational commitment was largely influenced by general efficacy which is a subfactor in teaching efficacy, and by consistency which is a subfactor of sensitivity. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this research suggest that teachers' teaching efficacy and sensitivity level are crucial in improving their organizational commitment.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the variation in professors' satisfaction with faculty development programs and in their teaching efficacy according to their demographic characteristics and the rate of participation in faculty development programs in a medical school. The data were collected from 59 faculty members who participated in the Professor's Seminar. The questionnaire consisted of three parts: general background of the respondent; satisfaction with the faculty development program; and teaching efficacy. The data were analyzed by methods of descriptive analysis, analysis of variance, and the Mann-Whitney U-test. The program satisfaction of faculty members was significantly different by the years of educational career but it was not different by job status, specialty, gender, and the participation level in faculty programs. The faculty members' teaching efficacy differed significantly by gender and the participation level in faculty programs, while it did not differ by educational career, job status, or specialty. The results of this study suggest that various faculty programs should be developed to increase the satisfaction level of different groups of faculty members, and that they should be more focused on teaching efficacy, as it is considered to be one of the most effective way to increase the quality of education.

They participated in two teaching efficacy surveys which were conducted before and after using e-portfolio. Twelve participants were interviewed regarding their experience and perceptions of e-portfolio. As the result of compared-sample tests, teaching efficacy increased statistically significantly. According to the students' interview, the pros and cons of e-portfolio were identified and the strategies for application of e-portfolio were suggested for improving teaching efficacy of pre-service teachers.

  • In child care teacher aptitude, it is identified that there is difference between male and female in sociability for the infants, but it shows that there is no difference in other field and implies that compared with gender of child care teacher, desire and qualification are more important for child care teaching. In addition,, in child care teacher aptitude, it is identified that as variable, commitment for duty expressively explicates child care teacher's professional perception, and the following things are shown as the variables to meaningfully explain the child care efficacy : creativity, self-improvement, sociability for infants, receptiveness, sensitiveness and safety management capacity significantly. Finally, it is turned out that creativity and self-improvement as main variable, expressively explains multicultural teaching efficacy. It is suggested the necessity to instruct pre-service child care teachers to possess creativity and be able to develop themselves, and improve multicultural teacher competencies.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the differences in emotional intelligence and resilience of pre-service early childhood teachers according to the level of teaching efficacy. To this end, 112 prospective early childhood teachers attending the Early Childhood Education Department located in the G were surveyed. The collected data was analyzed by one-way ANOVA and Scheffe post-test analysis. As a result of the study, first, according to the level of teaching efficacy, there were statistically significant differences in the emotional intelligence and the sub-factors. Second, according to the level of teaching efficacy, there were statistically significant differences in resilience and sub-factor s. These results will serve as basic data to explore various ways to improve the level of teaching efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers and to enhance the personal qualities required for pre-service early childhood teachers.

  • The purpose of this investigation is to: (1) to derive an improvement factor for inquiry-based simulated teaching-learning in pre-service teacher training programs, and pre-service teachers practice simulated teaching that reflect the improvement factor, (2) to analyze the difference in science intrinsic motivation according to science self-efficacy and inquiry-based simulated teaching-learning experience. To achieve these goals, we recruited five elementary and secondary teachers as experts to help us develop an improvement factor based on expert interviews. Subsequently, third-year pre-service teachers of a university of education participated in our analysis of differences in science intrinsic motivation, according to their level of science self-efficacy and experience with inquiry-based simulated teaching-learning. Our methodology involved applying the analytic hierarchy process to expert interviews to derive improvement factor for inquiry-based simulated teaching-learning, followed by a two-way ANOVA to identify significant differences in science intrinsic motivation between groups with varying levels of science self-efficacy. We also conducted post-analysis through MANOVA statements. The results of our study indicate that inquiry-based simulated teaching-learning can be improved through activities that foster digital literacy, ecological literacy, democratic citizenship, and scientific inquiry skills. Moreover, small group activities and student-centered teaching-learning approaches were found to be effective in developing core competencies and promoting science achievements. Specifically, pre-service teachers prepared a teaching-learning course plan and inquiry-based simulated teaching-learning in seventh-grade in the Earth and Space subject area. Pre-service teachers' science intrinsic motivation analyze significant differences in all levels of science self-efficacy before and after simulated teaching-learning and significant difference in the interaction effect between simulated teaching-learning and scientific self-efficacy. Particularly, group with low scientific self-efficacy, the difference in science intrinsic motivation according to simulated teaching-learning was most significant. Teachers' scientific self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation are needed to improve science achievement and affective domains of students in class. Therefore, this study contributes to suggest inquiry-based simulated teaching-learning reflecting school practices from the pre-service teacher curriculum.
