예비 교사들의 지질유산에 대한 인식과 교육의 필요성 (Pre-Service Teachers' Perception about the Geological Heritage and the Necessity for its Education)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 예비 교사들의 지질유산에 대한 인식과 이해정도, 지질유산 교육의 필요성과 효과적인 지질유산 교육을 위한 학습방법이 무엇인지 알아보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 2013년 충청북도 소재 초등 예비교사와 중등 예비 교사 학생 총 190명을 대상으로 설문조사 연구를 실시하였다. 조사 결과, 예비 교사들은 지질유산을 주로 방송매체를 통해서 처음 접해 알고 있었으나, 지질유산에 대한 설명과 인식의 정도는 낮은 편이어서 지질유산에 대한 지식과 설명에는 어려움을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 예비 교사들은 대부분 지질유산 교육을 받지 못하였지만, 일부 교육을 받은 예비 교사들은 초등학교 시절이나 중학교 시절에 학교에서 교사로부터 교육을 받은 것으로 나타났다. 하지만, 지질유산 교육을 받은 예비 교사들마저도 지질유산에 대한 인식은 부족하였다. 지질유산의 우수성과 중요성을 높이 인식하여 지질유산 교육이 필요하다고 응답했다. 현행 초, 중등 교육과정에서 지질유산 교육은 다루고 있지 않으며, 지질유산 교육이 이루어지고 있지 않다고 인식하고 있었다. 예비 교사들은 학교에서 교사가 중심이 되어 지질유산 교육이 이루어지는 것이 가장 효과가 높을 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 학생들에게 지질유산 교육은 학습능력이 갖춰지고, 가장 호기심이 많은 초등학교가 가장 적절한 시기라고 응답하였으며, 지질유산 교육에 많은 시간을 할애하는 것에는 부정적인 측면을 보였다. 마지막으로 예비 교사들은 현행 개설된 교과내용에서 현장체험 형태의 지질유산 교육을 진행하는 것을 희망하였으며, 지질유산 관련 기관이 제공하는 동영상 자료를 주로 학습에 이용하겠다고 응답하였다. 이 조사 결과를 바탕으로 예비 교사들에게 지질유산의 가치와 소중함을 올바르게 알리기 위한 방안을 제안하였다.

교사의 체육수업지도에 따른 초등학생의 인식 (Cognition of Elementary School Student to Teaching Method and Management of Physical Education)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 교사의 체육수업지도에 따른 초등학생의 인식을 분석하여 보다 즐겁고 효율적인 수업을 도모하고자 하는 것으로, 초등학교 5.6학년 319명(남자 160명, 여자 159명)을 대상으로 설문 조사를 통해 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 체육수업 시 교사의 설명에 대해 학생들은 매우 긍정적인 반응을 보였으며, 남학생에 비해 여학생이 더 긍정적인 반응을 보였다. 또한 교사의 시범, 지식에 대해 학생들은 대체로 긍정적인 반응을 보여 체육수업활동 시 교사의 설명이나 지도를 통해서 얻는 움직임의 지식에 대한 남녀 학생의 의존도가 매우 높음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 평가와 질서유지에도 긍정적인 반응을 보였는데 교사의 평가에 대한 공정성이나 신뢰감이 형성되어 있다고 판단되며, 수업활동 참여에 대해서도 상당히 높은 반응을 보여 교사의 적극적인 수업활동 참여를 원하고 있었다. 따라서 체육수업지도 시 제시되는 학생들의 다양한 의견과 생각을 보다 잘 이해하고 가까이 다가서려는 노력을 기울인다면 보다 재미있고 보람차고 긍정적인 체육수업이 될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

예비 초등 교사의 좋은 수학 수업에 대한 인식 (Prospective Elementary School Teachers' Conception on Good Mathematics Instruction)

  • Prospective teachers need to have an opportunity to critically examine their initial perception with regard to effective mathematics instruction during the teacher education period. This study analyzed the perception in relation to good mathematics instruction by a total of 265 prospective teachers from four institutes for elementary teacher education using a survey. The results of this study showed that the pre-service teachers regarded learner, teaching and learning method, selection of content, and construction of curriculum as important for high-quality mathematics instruction. However, they revealed relatively low levels of agreement against the importance of instructional materials, classroom environment and atmosphere, and assessment. On the basis of teachers' perception on each element of effective mathematics instruction, this paper raises issues for discussion and includes some implications for teacher education.

수학창의성에 대한 초등교사들의 인식 (Prospective Elementary School Teachers' Perception on Mathematical Creativity)

  • The purpose of this study is to survey and analyze conception on creativity carried out from elementary school teachers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do area. As results, first, most of teachers replied divergent thinking, creative problem solving, and new creation as general creativity and mathematical creativity. Secondly, they showed that thinking process would be related to transfer and cognition in terms of mathematical creativity factors. Lastly, there are significant differences among groups according to gender, teaching career, and age, even though most teachers expressed sympathy for need of creativity education in mathematics education.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate teachers' knowledge of mathematics via the concept of function. For the purpose, a survey was done to measure their knowledge of mathematics. The result obtained from the survey was as follows With respect to the knowledge on concept of friction, they understood the function as ordered pairs and graph rather than as relation and expression. This study reached the following conclusions from the result : They have the more static cognition than the dynamic one on the concept of unction.

사회적 구성'의 수학교육적 의미에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Meaning of 'Social Construction' in Mathematics Education)

  • This study analyzes the epistemological meaning of‘social construction’in mathematical instruction. The perspective that consider the cognition of mathematical concept as a social construction is explained by a cyclic scheme of an academic context and a school context. Both of the contexts require a public procedure, social conversation. However, there is a considerable difference that in the academic context it is Lakatos' ‘logic of mathematical discovery’In the school context, it is Vygotsky's‘instructional and learning interaction’. In the situation of mathematics education, the‘society’which has an influence on learner's cognition does not only mean‘collective members’, but‘form of life’which is constituted by the activity with purposes, language, discourse, etc. Teachers have to play a central role that guide and coordinate the educational process involving interactions with learners in this context. We can get useful suggestions to mathematics education through this consideration of the social contexts and levels to form didactical situations of mathematics.

유치원/초등생 로봇 교육에 대한 학부모의 인식 조사 (A Survey on Parents' Cognition in the Robotics Education for Kindergarten and Elementary Students)

  • Robots have been widely used for the education in kindergarten and elementary school. In this study, the cognition of parents on robots in education is investigated. The study is conducted by analyzing responses of 105 parents with kindergarten students and elementary schoolchildren. The survey results show that most students who have been taking the robotics education start it from five or seven years old. The students were mainly educated in the private institution. Therefore, the parents worry about the lack of professionalism about educational institute and teachers. In conclusion, the systematic curriculums and policy of robotic education are needed for kindergarten students and elementary students.

실천공동체의 관점에서 바라본 학교 ESD 프로젝트 참여 교사들의 경험에 관한 연구 (A Study on Teachers' Experiences in ESD Project of School with Perspective of Community of Practice)

  • The purpose of this study is to look at the elementary school teachers' practical experiences of change and knowledges in promotion of Education for Sustainable Development(ESD) process with Community of Practice(CoP) of teachers and Biographical Approach. ESD project of 'S' elementary school was started by Principal's recognition of further and that was practiced with a common theme over the course through various experiences in educational field with teachers' involvement and finally came to the changes in teachers' personal life and lifelong cognition. Through Community of Practice teachers could look the concept of ESD to a wide field of view and tried various activities in the classroom with students and also, as a further, were able to equip new professional competency with skills. Through the process of learning and experience teachers accepted the ESD philosophy as the engine of life and experienced that their long-term recognition was extended to the whole personal life and the global community.

현대 사회의 과학 논쟁 주제에 대한 초등 교사의 인식 (The Understanding of Elementary School Teachers on the Current Science Issues)

  • We investigated the understanding of elementary school teachers on the current science issues. As a first step of the research, we choose 10 science issues which are influencing current society. Then we asked 119 elementary school teachers in Seoul, Inchon and Daejeon how important they think and how much they know the issues. As a result, we found that almost elementary school teachers know much on alternative energy, atomic bomb, nuclear power generation and global warming while they less know about high technology as Korean supersonic trainer($T-5^{TM}$) and Synchrotron radiation accelerator. Also we know that teachers take an interest on the articles about current science issues only for a while and forget to study on the issues for themselves. It is more important than whatever for the teachers to have exact understanding on current science issues in order to make civil society by acquiring the science literacy. Therefore elementary teachers and preliminary teachers should have a chance to study on current science issues. We suggest that teacher communities should be supported to improve the competency by cooperation.

수학교육에서 교수매체에 대한 교사, 학생, 학부모의 인식 조사 연구 (A Survey of the cognition of Teachers, Students, Parents Towards Instructional Media in Mathematics Education)

  • The elementary and middle school curriculum in Korea has been modified periodically to reach today's 7th national curriculum. Although the intent of each new curriculum was to improve education, lack of proper preparation for teachers and students has not made the new curriculums as effective as it could be. Goodlad et al.(1979) suggested that curriculum should encompass all practices including not only knowledge but all the elements of the curriculum and experiences of the student and teachers. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the actual practices of the current curriculum with focus on the use of instructional media in mathematics teaching and learning. A nationwide curriculum survey was carried out with the Goodlad's curriculum inquiry model as the framework. The result shows that elementary and secondary mathematics teachers used textbook manual (for teachers) and practice books most frequently for their class preparation. In addition to these, mathematics teachers also used manipulatives, visual aids, computers, internet, and calculators in a decreasing order. In general, many mathematics teachers did not use much instructional media in their classes and said that there are not enough effective instructional media to use. However, the teachers have positive attitude toward the educational media that they have used. In this study, we analyzed the survey data regarding educational tools, their use and effects to support the development of a new curriculum model in mathematics for a knowledge-based society.
