The purpose of this study was to develop and test the validity of an assessment scale for determining the competency of early childhood teachers practicing unification education. For this purpose, an evaluation scale was constructed and then tested for reliability and validity. Participants for this study included 266 early childhood teachers in the unification education field. In order to the measure reliability and validity of this scale, Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis were conducted with SPSS 18.0 and AMOS. The result of this study identified four principal factors: 1) Instruction skills, 2) Evaluation, 3) Attitude, and 4) Knowledge. The results of this study supported the scale's reliability and legitimacy as a valid instrument for the evaluation of early childhood teacher's competence in unification education.

In this Information Age, the needs for the performance evaluation is raising to increase the higher-thought ability for creativity and problem-solving, to improve the quality of the teaching-learning process. However, it is very difficult to carry out the authentic performance evaluation in our educational environment. Therefore, we design and implement the Performance Evaluation Processing System as one of the learning-teaching processes. We study the theoretical base of evaluation types and of learning-teaching methods, and inquire appropriate performance evaluation methods. Among the methods, we focus on the Report, a type of performance evaluation using the most widely in the Society. We constitute a basic form and design the evaluation system of the Report. The evaluation system consist of the teacher's module and the learner's module. Teachers make the form of report, provide it for learners and evaluate the report on teacher's module, Learners make out the report, submit it to the teacher and use it for presentation in class, on learner's module, The teacher and learner can apply this system as follows. The teacher can use the report that have been already made, or that make for themselves as a step for evaluation and they can evaluate learners by the submitted report. The learner not only can see their own result of evaluation but also can use ICT at their presentation.
The purpose of this paper is to compare and analyze the two different teaching methods of elementary mathematics in the traditional method and in the constructive view. To do so, the actual class in the constructive view has been made for about four months using a class of 45 students in the second grade of an elementary school. After the class was finished, we collected diverse data from the class, such as the responses from the children(self-evaluation, mathematics diary, observation by the investigator, daily report), class evaluation report by other teacher and so on. The results of this research are as follows: First, the traditional class reaches at the goal of learning in a unit time because the class is guided by the teacher but the class in the constructive view is a little flexible because it is contextual. Second, in the constructive process of mathematical knowledge we knew that small group activities or discussion without intervention of teacher was often ended in exhaustive argument without arriving at valid social consensus. Third, the attitude in mathematics was changed from the passive one to the self-regulated ones. Fourth, the class in the constructive view could extend not only the ability of mathematical communication but also the ability of self-directed learning of children. Fifth, it was a considerable change the role of teacher, that is, guide of instruction instead of unique specialist in the classroom. Sixth, finally, the evaluation was made after finishing a unit class in the traditional instruction but it was integrated in a class in a constructive view.
This study is attempted to propose a quality evaluation method of the materials for nutrition education by applying readability test of printed materials for nutrition education. It is significantly important for the teaching class with nutrition education materials to consider students understanding level and education materials topics or choosing words in developed printed materials. This study performed an evaluation of the readability of text in teachers' guidebook, which is devised for elementary school students' education material about sugar, sodium and trans-fat and attempted to estimate the developing materials through analyzing difficulty level of the text. We utilized "The Teacher's Guidebook for Cooking Activity" that had been developed for elementary school by Ministry Education Science and Technology, as the readability evaluation standard. Compared with the average score of readability about "The Teacher's Guidebook for Cooking Activity", $72.94{\pm}6.85$, "Sugar Guidebook" was 70.94{\pm}7.46, "Sodium Guidebook" was $68.76{\pm}14.50$, and "Trans-fat Guidebook" was $58.87{\pm}10.79$. Considering the subjects careers or ages, "The Teacher's Guidebook for Cooking Activity" has little deviation by the subjects careers or ages and was "intermediate" or "easy" level; however, "Sugar Guidebook", "Sodium Guidebook", "Trans-fat Guidebook" was "intermediate" or "difficult" level (p < 0.05). Readability score was especially low when the contents of some particular subjects were too professionalized or scientific terms were frequently used, and thes results were definitely seen in the "Sodium Guidebook" and "Trans-fat Guidebook". With Cloze test score, the readability evaluation will be using as an evaluation tool for the nutrition education materials.
The purpose of this study is to analyze classroom discourse in the math classroom of middle school in China, which has a unique math classroom background of entrance examination for high school. To this end, this study analyzed teacher question statistics and episodes by teacher question type as starting speech in mathematics classroom discourse, and five IRF subtypes were especially identified by class discourse structure analysis. The data were analyzed focusing on a total of 15 transcripts of math classes recorded by three math teachers at H School in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, China, and written interviews of teachers. According to the results of this study, an average of 20 teacher questions were observed for each class, and the teacher question type was classified into confirmation question (understanding confirmation question, explanation request question, and double check question) and information question (information presentation question). In addition, according to classroom discourse analysis, the IRF discourse structure was divided into fragmentary evaluation, evaluation+reason, evidence of explanation, evaluation+student response re-statement, guidance on other thoughts or solutions, and student answer correction or teacher opinion presentation.
The current status of in-service teacher development shows that teachers' awareness can be enhanced through critical reflection. This study shows how an English teacher improved her own teaching situation through action research. It reports back the action research the teacher-researcher carried out in the EFL classroom setting. Aiming to improve the pupils' English speaking ability, the teacher introduced 'Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT)' to the English class. The teacher and the pupils took part in the evaluation process of learning and teaching. It was found that the new approach to teaching speaking helped the pupils improve speaking ability and take an active role in learning process. It is further suggested that teacher-initiated action research can be done in collaboration with colleagues, administrators and researchers.
Gender equity education is ineffective in a public school system even though gender equity education is a current issue in South Korean education. One of the problems is attributed to teacher education because no better gender equity education can be accomplished without teacher preparation. Therefore, the effectiveness of teachers is a very important keyword in teacher education. This study examines learning experience, gender equity value, teacher preparation for gender equity education of pre-service teachers in Gonju, South Korea, the factors that influence teacher preparation for gender equity education, and the instruction of gender equity. A survey was delivered to pre-service teachers in 2008, and the data of 350 pre-service teachers were analyzed. MANOVA and Multiple Regressions were used for analyzing the data. The results will contribute to the development of effective teacher education for gender equity education and information on a partnership between the family and the public school system that is centered on gender equity education.
This study aims to investigate the disparity between the teacher's perception of student-centered inquiry classes and the actual implementation of such practices. Specifically, we compared an elementary science teacher's self-perception of her science lessons with the observers' evaluation using the Reformed Teaching Observation Protocol (RTOP) of the "Temperature and Heat" unit. Research data were collected through classroom teaching survey, interview, and science lessons video which were analyzed using the RTOP. As a result of the study, the teacher recognized that she was practicing inquiry-oriented/student-centered classes, but the results judged by the RTOP score were found to be transitional/student-affected classes by a slight difference. Teacher H planned and practiced classes based on a high understanding and content knowledge of the curriculum and created a science classroom culture that promotes active interaction among students as well as students and teachers. However, teacher-led aspects were still emphasized in teaching design and implementation, and the project theme and content were inappropriate to improve the quality of students' science inquiry experience. In the end, the slight difference between teacher's perception of inquiry-oriented/student-centered classes and actual implementation is related to how student-centered "lesson design" is and how to plan and implement classes supported by "procedural knowledge" for students' experience in the science inquiry process. These results indicate that the teacher's self-evaluation alone is not enough to determine whether the teacher's intentions and efforts are actually being implemented, and that it is necessary to conduct objective analysis, evaluation, and discuss the results of science classes by the external observers.

This study examined professional development systems in America, England, and Australia, and devised ways to enhance early childhood teachers' professional development in Korea. To suggest effective ways to improve current professional development system and its operation, this research aimed to investigate first, advanced professional development systems and policies in three countries, America, England, and Australia, second, the process of teacher qualification and requirements for acquiring teacher credential and its maintenance, and lastly, the effort of quality control for professional development, its operation, and evaluation systems in three countries. Based on the analysis of the three country's systems, five solutions for effective professional development are suggested. First, it is necessary to differentiate requirements for teachers by the level of teacher credentials. Second, an incessant training process for professional development is required. Third, an individualized professional development plan should be set for an individual teacher for the best outcomes in professional competence. Fourth, instructors for professional development trainings are needed to ensure the quality of training. Lastly, individuals, organizations, and policy and its operation systems need to be considered holistically as a whole in the perspective of convergence in policy making and its operation for effective professional development.

In the United States, it is 12-13 years. But in Korea, it is more than 30 years. That means the teachers who taught for many years are considered as competent teachers in Republic of Korea based on the economic factors of educational effects. In Russia and tile United States of America, teachers' academic backgrounds seriously affect ell teachers' salary. But ill Republic of Korea, teachers' academic background is a bit of a contribution to salary. In Russian federation, teachers' activities related to education, leaking abilities as well as academic background are also affect ell the salary. In Korea, older teachers have more advantages of salary and promotion than younger teachers. Principals and vice principals of Korea have influencing power over teachers because their judgements on teachers play an important part in teachers' promotion. But there is no such power of principals and vice principals in Russia and the United States of America. In Russian federation, the evaluation of teachers abilities is enforced periodically. The results of tile evaluation reflect on teachers' salary directly, After teachers are evaluated, some teachers can earn lower salaries than before. Teachers' academic backgrounds which affect ell teacher' salary are classified by courses. The teachers who have master degrees or dolor degrees of education earn much more money than the teachers who have master degrees and doctor degrees of pure science in Russian federation.
