The purpose of this paper id to study the factors influencing MIS user satisfaction. For this purpose. I have reviewed the results of past studies on the performance factor of MIS, and introduced a new model associated with small & Medium Business. On the basis of this model, I have hypothesized that the following variables influence user satisfaction : (gender, age), individual characteristics(user attitude, training for user), managerial characteristic(top management involvement, organizational support) and task characteristics(task structure). There were 195 participants surveyed using questionnaires from 25 different small & medium Business in Pusan. The research model and associated hypotheses were tested by following statistical techniques: reliability test, regression, t-test and ANOVA. The findings of this study are follows; 1. It was found that gender and age are not correlated user satisfaction. 2. Among individual characteristics, only user attitude influence user satisfaction significantly. 3. While organizational supports influence positively user satisfaction, top management involvement do not influence it. 4. Task structure is highly correlated with user satisfaction. In spite of many factors affecting MIS success, this study did not consider all variables affect on user satisfaction. We need integrated model including more various factors.
A proportional share scheduler allocates CPU time to tasks and determines which task will be dispatched according to their priorities. In this paper, we investigate the correlation between the characteristics of applications and task priorities in the Linux Completely Fair Scheduler(CFS), which is one of the representative proportional share schedulers. We also propose a method of controlling the granularity of priority assignments according to the characteristics of applications. We implemented the proposed technique in a Linux system and confirmed the meaningful experimental results.

An IaaS service of a cloud computing environment makes itself attractive for running large scale parallel application thanks to its innate characteristics that a user can utilize a desired number of high performance virtual machines without maintenance cost. The total execution time of a parallel application on a high performance computing environment depends on a task scheduling algorithm. Most studies on task scheduling algorithms on cloud computing environment try to reduce a user cost, and studies on task scheduling algorithms that try to reduce total execution time are rarely carried out. In this paper, we propose a task scheduling algorithm called an HAGD and a performance enhancement method called a group task duplication method of which the HAGD utilizes. The group task duplication method simplifies previous task duplication method, and the HAGD uses the group task duplication method or a task insertion method according to the characteristics of a computing environment and an application. We found that the proposed algorithm provides superior performance regardless of the characteristics in terms of normalized total execution time through performance evaluations.
Recently, due to the rapid development of IT (information technologies), a variety of attempts have been made to incorporate IT into other fields such as finance and manufacturing. Among them, a novel concept in the spotlight is FinTech, which is a combined word of finance and technology. FinTech is a line of business demonstrating an innovation development through IT in the financial service industry. One of the most popular types of FinTech is a third-party mobile payment service (MPS), the examples of which can be easily found in South Korea while the actual use of the service is relatively inactive. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is to empirically investigate influencing factors of intention to use the third-party MPS. Based on individual characteristics and the task-technology fit model, the research model of the study is developed, with switching cost included as a moderating variable. The results of structural equation model testing with 316 potential users of Kakao Pay, one of the most popular business models of the third-party MPS, show that innate innovativeness, task characteristics, and technology characteristics are positively influencing task-technology fit, which in turn significantly affects intention to use the third-party MPS. The negative moderating role of switching cost is also found. These results could help managers develop better strategies to motivate potential users to participate in their services.
This study confirmed factors affecting smart factory technology acceptance through empirical analysis. It is a study on what factors have an important influence on the introduction of the smart factory, which is the core field of the 4th industry. I believe that there is academic and practical significance in the context of insufficient research on technology acceptance in the field of smart factories. This research was conducted based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), whose explanatory power has been proven in the study of the acceptance factors of information technology. In addition to the four independent variables of the UTAUT : Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, and Facilitating Conditions, Government Assistance Expectancy, which is expected to be an important factor due to the characteristics of the smart factory, was added to the independent variable. And, in order to confirm the technical factors of smart factory technology acceptance, the Task Technology Fit(TTF) was added to empirically analyze the effect on Behavioral Intention. Trust is added as a parameter because the degree of trust in new technologies is expected to have a very important effect on the acceptance of technologies. Finally, empirical verification was conducted by adding Innovation Resistance to a research variable that plays a role as a moderator, based on previous studies that innovation by new information technology can inevitably cause refusal to users. For empirical analysis, an online questionnaire of random sampling method was conducted for incumbents of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises, and 309 copies of effective responses were used for empirical analysis. Amos 23.0 and Process macro 3.4 were used for statistical analysis. For accurate statistical analysis, the validity of Research Model and Measurement Variable were secured through confirmatory factor analysis. Accurate empirical analysis was conducted through appropriate statistical procedures and correct interpretation for causality verification, mediating effect verification, and moderating effect verification. Performance Expectancy, Social Influence, Government Assistance Expectancy, and Task Technology Fit had a positive (+) effect on smart factory technology acceptance. The magnitude of influence was found in the order of Government Assistance Expectancy(β=.487) > Task Technology Fit(β=.218) > Performance Expectancy(β=.205) > Social Influence(β=.204). Both the Task Characteristics and the Technology Characteristics were confirmed to have a positive (+) effect on Task Technology Fit. It was found that Task Characteristics(β=.559) had a greater effect on Task Technology Fit than Technology Characteristics(β=.328). In the mediating effect verification on Trust, a statistically significant mediating role of Trust was not identified between each of the six independent variables and the intention to introduce a smart factory. Through the verification of the moderating effect of Innovation Resistance, it was found that Innovation Resistance plays a positive (+) moderating role between Government Assistance Expectancy, and technology acceptance intention. In other words, the greater the Innovation Resistance, the greater the influence of the Government Assistance Expectancy on the intention to adopt the smart factory than the case where there is less Innovation Resistance. Based on this, academic and practical implications were presented.
In this paper, we propose a task distribution scheme in fog computing environment considering opportunistic fog computing nodes. As latency is one of the important performance metric for IoT(Internet of Things) applications, there have been lots of researches on the fog computing system. However, since the load can be concentrated to the specific fog computing nodes due to the spatial and temporal IoT characteristics, the load distribution should be considered to prevent the performance degradation. Therefore, this paper proposes a task distribution scheme which considers the static as well as opportunistic fog computing nodes according to their mobility feature. Especially, based on the task requirements, the proposed scheme supports the delay sensitive task processing at the static fog node and delay in-sensitive tasks by means of the opportunistic fog nodes for the task distribution. Based on the performance evaluation, the proposed scheme shows low service response time compared to the conventional schemes.

The advanced bilateral control algorithm, which can enlarge a reflected force by combining force reflection and compliance control, greatly enhances workability in teleoperation. In this scheme the maximum boundaries of a compliance controller and a force reflection gain guaranteeing stability and good task performance greatly depend upon characteristics of a slave arm, a master arm, and an environment. These characteristics, however, are generally unknown in teleoperation. It is, therefore, very difficult to determine such maximum boundary of the gain. The paper presented a novel method for design of an advanced bilateral controller. The factors affecting task performance and stability in the advanced bilateral controller were analyzed and a design guideline was presented. The neurofuzzy compliance model (NFCM)-based bilateral control proposed herein is an algorithm designed to automatically determine the suitable compliance for a given task or environment. The NFCM, composed of a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) and a rule-learning mechanism, is used as a compliance controller. The FLC generates compliant motions according to contact forces. The rule-learning mechanism, which is based upon the reinforcement learning algorithm, trains the rule-base of the FLC until the given task is done successfully. Since the scheme allows the use of large force reflection gain, it can assure good task performance. Moreover, the scheme does not require any priori knowledge on a slave arm dynamics, a slave arm controller and an environment, and thus, it can be easily applied to the control of any telerobot systems. Through a series of experiments effectiveness of the proposed algorithm has been verified.
Social communications using information and communication technologies (ICT) for social interactions have been making a significant impact on task performance in organizations. However, most of the existing studies on ICT (e.g., telephone and email) have only focused on technical improvement of communication efficiencies (e.g., information exchange and storage). In this paper, we claim that ICT may be another alternative source of knowledge creation that enables employees to work, find solutions, and achieve their goals faster and better. We investigate the impact of ICT in terms of both tasks and social aspects with knowledge creation as task performance. Also, we investigate the moderating effect of media synchronicity on these relationships. This study contributes to the understanding of contemporary communications media usage and its performance in organizations. We collected and analyzed survey data of 248 company employees, using PLS. The results indicate that task urgency and social influence directly affect ICT usage, and even knowledge creation. Also the media synchronicity moderates the relationship between the characteristics of a given task and ICT usage and the relationship between ICT usage and knowledge creation. Theoretical and practical implications of these findings are also discussed in the paper.

There are many information objects and users in a large company. It is important issue how to control users access in order that only authorized user can access information objects, Traditional access control models do not properly reflect the characteristics of enterprise environment. This paper proposes an improved access control model for enterprise environment. The characteristics of access control in an enterprise are examined and a task role-based access control(T-RBAC) model founded on concept of classification of tasks is introduced. T-RBAC deals with each task differently according to its class, and supports task level access control and supervision role hierarchy.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to identify team commitment affecting employees' innovative activities and factors affecting team commitment including empowerment by leaders and job enrichment factors. In other words, so as to explain outcome variables of innovative activities, this study aims to emphasize employees' attachment roles towards their groups within nomological network, and identify the motives encouraging employees' innovative activities. The research purpose is significant due to the realistic situation of hotel industry. The reason why innovative activities are important can be found in recent changes of business environment. Also, unlike other various studies on precedence factors encouraging employees' innovative activities, this study classified those precedence factors into job and leader characteristics, and it emphasized the importance of team commitment as the process that job and leader characteristics are connected to innovative activities. Research design, data and methodology - The survey for this study was conducted during October 6th ~ November 10th in 2014 to the employees who are working in 5-star hotels in Korea. As for the selection of hotels and sampling method, convenience sampling method was used to the employees in 5-star hotels. Self-report method was used in the survey, judging that the employees' characteristics would be relatively homogeneous. 311 questionnaires were distributed in total, and 275 reponses were collected. After excluding the missing and unreliable responses, 245 questionnaires were used in the research. SPSS and AMOS programs were used for the analysis. Results - First, empowering leadership had positive effects on hotel employees' team commitment. It indicates that hotel employees are more committed to their team when their leaders set examples, provide information, and involve employees in decision-making process. Second, as a result of the relationship analysis in task diversity, task significance, task identity and team commitment, task diversity and task significance had significant effect on team commitment, while task identity had no significant effect on team commitment. It indicates that team commitment is enhanced when the employees can conduct diverse types of jobs and get more opportunities to talk with the guests. Also, the repetition for the same jobs in hotel rooms and the space for preparing food and beverage do not lead to team commitment, even though the employees fulfill their duties to the end. Third, hotel employees' team commitment has positive effect on their innovative activities. It indicates that employees voluntarily conduct innovative activities when they are attached to their team and identifies themselves with the team. Conclusions - There are theoretical and practical implications in this study. First, in terms of the theoretical perspective, this study proposes structural framework in team commitment, and it identifies the psychological mechanism in team commitment from the aspect of social exchange, which resulted in identification of precedence factors related to team commitment. In addition, this study presents new possibilities for relevant studies about team commitment by examining the effect on team commitment when the importance of innovative activities is emphasized in recent business environment.
