승용 이앙기 부착형 제초입제 살포기 개발과 살포성능 (Development and Application Performance of a Granular Herbicide Applicator Attached to Rice Transplanter)

  • A herbicide applicator attached to a rice transplanter was developed to perform herbicide application and transplanting simultaneously. The prototype machine was composed of herbicide tank, discharge device, spinner, scattering plate and power drive. The application rate of the machine could be adjusted from 10 to 30 kg/㏊ and the application swath was 1.8m. According to the field test, application uniformity showed the range of 13.6~43.9% in terms of CV(coefficient of variation) depending on the spinner speed, application height and shape of diffuser. The best uniformity could be achieved with the spinner speed of 30.8m/s and application height of 20cm. Field efficiency of the prototype was 4.7hr/㏊. Transplanting machine has field efficiency of 4.6hr/㏊ in Korea. By attaching the herbicide applicator, field efficiency became lowed only by 0.1hr/㏊, which was counted for filling time of herbicide. Simultaneous operation of transplanting and herbicide application had a of labor saying. The weed control efficacy was measured to be 96% in field when AC140 + Stomp and Londax + YRC was applied at the 65th day after transplanting. Nonanmae was treated by manual application to be compared to.

A Study on the Influence of a Sewage Treatment Plant's Operational Parameters using the Multiple Regression Analysis Model

  • In this study, the influence of the control and operational parameters within a sewage treatment plant were reviewed by performing multiple regression analysis on the effluent quality of the sewage treatment. The data used for this review are based on the actual data from a sewage treatment plant using the media process within the year 2012. The prediction models of chemical oxygen demand ($COD_{Mn}$) and total nitrogen (T-N) within the effluent of the 2nd settling tank based on the multiple regression analysis yielded the prediction accuracy measurements of 0.93 and 0.84, respectively; and it was concluded that the model was accurately predicting the variances of the actual observed values. If the data on the energy spent on each operating condition can be collected, then the operating parameter that conserves energy without violating the effluent quality standards of COD and T-N can be determined using the regression model and the standardized regression coefficients. These results can provide appropriate operation guidelines to conserve energy to the operators at sewage treatment plants that consume a lot of energy.

  • Chemical accidents generated during maintenance, repair, and normal operation, such as dispersion, fire, and explosions, can cause massive losses like a 2012 hydro fluorine leak in Gumi, South Korea. Since this accident, many researches have studied physical mitigation systems. However, due to the lack of potential costs and time, it is really hard for many companies to install mitigation systems without prior knowledge. Thus, the efficacy of mitigation system should be evaluated. This study assesses a dike design considering the fluid velocity at an open hole when a leakage accident occurs. It is assumed that leakage materials follow a free fall motion. Throughout case studies, a current KOSHA guide for a dike design was evaluated and new guidelines handling various conditions were proposed.

사무소 건물의 급수배관경 산정을 위한 동시사용유량에 관한 연구 (The evaluation of the simultaneous flow rate for sizing the water supply piping in the office building)

  • Determining the simultaneous flow rate in any particular section of piping is the important step in order to determine the size of water supply piping. Now we are using the diversity curve of common water closet in order to determine the simultaneous flow rate of water supply piping, but there is a difference between a determined flow rate of general water closet and that of water closet for water saving. This study aims to find out the fixture unit of a flush valve type water closet for water saving in office building, and to determine the correlation between the fixture units and peak flow rates on the basis of the probability theory. A flush valve type water closet for water saving that have a 7.5 second duration of flush operation with an average design flow rate 72 $\ell$/fin was considered. Simulation results indicate that the number 5 is shown to be reasonable to the fixture unit of water closet for water saving. And the design can be undersized considerably with the revised diversity curves using modified fixture unit.

  • This study was analyzed the long term performance of the demonstration system for solar energy desalination in Jeju. we used a solar thermal system as heat source of the single-stage fresh water generator with plate-type heat exchangers and a photovoltaic power system as electric source for hydraulic pumps. The demonstration system was designed and installed at Jeju-island in 2006. The system was comprised of the desalination unit with daily fresh water capacity designed as $2m^3$ a $120m^2$ evacuated tubular solar collector to supply the heat, a $6m^3$ heat storage tank, and a 5kW photovoltaic power generation to supply the electricity of hydraulic pumps for the heat medium fluids. Through the operation during about 3 years, In a clear day more than $400W/m^2$, the daily fresh water showed to produce more than about 500liter, and from January, 2007 to March, 2009 for 3 years, solar irradiance daily averaged was measured $370W/m^2$, the daily fresh water yield showed that can be produced about 330liter.

Round-Bilge 고속 반활주선의 선형특성 및 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Hull Form Design of Semi-Planing Round-Bilge Craft)

  • This study presents the design procedure for optimizing the semi-planing hull form, including appendages, using numerical and experimental methods. Four different referenced semi-planing hull forms were compared to determine their hydrodynamic performances, and one of the hull forms was modified for optimum operation at high-speed conditions (0.4 < $F_{NL}$ < 0.9). The optimized, semi-planing hull form was tested in the towing tank to investigate its resistance characteristics. Also, the results of the model tests with differing design parameters were used to choose the stern wedge and the spray strip to improve the hydrodynamic performance at high speeds.

  • A CSTR (Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor) is a highly nonlinear process with varying parameters during operation. Therefore, tuning of the controller and determining the transition policy of controller parameters are required to guarantee the best performance of the CSTR for overall operating regions. In this paper, a methodology employing the 2DOF (Two-Degree-of-Freedom) PID controller, the anti-windup technique and a fuzzy gain scheduler is presented for the temperature control of the CSTR. First, both a local model and an EA (Evolutionary Algorithm) are used to tune the optimal controller parameters at each operating region by minimizing the IAE (Integral of Absolute Error). Then, a set of controller parameters are expressed as functions of the gain scheduling variable. Those functions are implemented using a set of "if-then" fuzzy rules, which is of Sugeno's form. Simulation works for reference tracking, disturbance rejecting and noise rejecting performances show the feasibility of using the proposed method.

  • We apply VRP(Vehicle Routing Problem) to sludge collection system in this study. Sewage stores of villages are located in each village around a multipurpose dam. Sludge which is produced in sewage store of village is transported from the sewage store of village to the sewage treatment plants by the special purpose vehicle such as the tank lorry. In this paper, we propose sludge collection strategies which allocate each sewage store of village to sewage treatment plants and decide the schedule of sludge collection in order to collect sludge efficiently. The strategies aim to decrease transportation cost with deciding proposed vehicle routing and scheduling the sludge collection. When we decide route of vehicles, we consider the collection time in sewage store of village, distance between sewage store of villages and vehicle information as average velocity of vehicle, operation time of vehicle driver. We also develop the SCMS(Sludge Collection Management System) based on windows system with real data which is used in certain circumstance. And we experiment to figure out vehicle route and transportation cost throughout changing input data.

  • The HANARO, multi-purpose research reactor, 30 MWth open-tank-in-pool type, is under 24 MWth of power operation since it reached to the initial critical in February, 1995. Many useful experiments should be safely performed to activate the utilization of the HANARO, but there is a radioactive risk of using the HANARO. To reduce the risk, a test facility, which is not reacted by nuclear fuel, is being developed to simulate similar flow characteristics with the HANARO. This paper describes the computational flow analysis to determine each shape of simulating fuels for simulating the flow similarities of 36 elements hexagonal fuels assembly and 18 elements circulating fuels assembly loaded in HANARO. The shares of orifices were determined by the trial and error method and the structural integrities of them were verified by the finite element method assuming that the flow rate and pressure differences of reactor core are constant. The analysis results will be verified with the results of the flow test to be performed after the installation of this test facility.

초음파 분무 열분해 증착 제어 시스템 개발 (Development of Control System for Ultrasonic Spray Pyrolysis Deposition)

  • A control system for ultrasonic spray pyrolysis deposition was developed that can coat a large size glass panel with a transparent conductive oxide. It consists of several ultrasonic atomizer devices to cover a large area and a host computer for individually controlling the devices. The sub-controller in an ultrasonic atomizer device can adjust the flow rate of the atomized conductive oxide gas by setting the flow rate of the solution and regulating the level of the solution in the tank. To construct a feedback control loop for level regulation, a level sensor that utilized an infrared distance sensor and an electric circuit for adjusting the ultrasonic oscillator were developed. The host program was also developed, which can monitor and control the sub-controllers. A proportional-integral controller was developed for a simplified model, and its operation was verified through an experiment.
