Studies on cellular pathways and networks are now one of the most actively researched topics in all fields of biomedicine ranging from developmental biology to etiology. Many databases have been developed and quantitative simulation models have been proposed. One of the eventual goals of pathway/network studies is to integrate different types of pathway/network models and databases to simulate overall cellular responses. A bottleneck to this goal is modeling gene expression since the mechanism of this process is not yet fully unveiled. We are developing a small scale computer program called CiRMU (Cis-Regulatory Machinery Unit model) for describing, viewing, analyzing, and modeling the process of gene expression. A prototype system is being designed and implemented for analyzing functions of nuclear receptors.

Many kinds of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been developed for a few decades and some of them are now in operational use. Although each UAV as well as a piloted aircraft might have restrictions to execute some tasks simultaneously or to carry some payloads, one with an automatic chase aircraft might have the potential of multi-capabilities to conduct a variety of missions or to carry more storages. This paper introduces a chase UAV control system to enhance a leader (reference) aircraft capability which has storage restriction. The automatic chase guidance and control system will be introduced with the pure pursuit guidance law combined with relative velocity error corrections, and a dynamic inversion technique in order to generate the guidance forces.

In this paper, nonlinear vibration of embedded nanocomposite concrete is investigated based on Timoshenko beam model. The beam is reinforced by with agglomerated silicon dioxide (SiO2) nanoparticles. Mori-Tanaka model is used for considering agglomeration effects and calculating the equivalent characteristics of the structure. The surrounding foundation is simulated with Pasternak medium. Energy method and Hamilton's principal are used for deriving the motion equations. Differential quadrature method (DQM) is applied in order to obtain the frequency of structure. The effects of different parameters such as volume percent of SiO2 nanoparticles, nanoparticles agglomeration, elastic medium, boundary conditions and geometrical parameters of beam are shown on the frequency of system. Numerical results indicate that with increasing the SiO2 nanoparticles, the frequency of structure increases. In addition, considering agglomeration effects leads to decrease in frequency of system.

As above, it described Dr.Tanaka's Spiral Balance Theory and studied the theoretical background and the special meridian circulation system, diagnostics and treatments. Though the considered the rule of the tenseness of the body as muscle movement theory, it corresponds with tradtional meridians theory in oriental medicine. If we study and develop the traditional meridians circulaition system more, we can expect clinical development applying to any theories in the field of oriential medicine such as acupuncture therapy, moxa therapy and chiropractc therapy. etc, as well as tapaing therapy, electronic stimulation therapy and exercising therapy.

A wearable sensor system is proposed as a man-machine interface to control a device for walking assistance. The sensor system is composed of small sensors to detect the information about the user's body motion such as the activity level of skeletal muscles and the acceleration of each body parts. Each sensor includes a microcomputer and all the sensors are connected into a network by using the serial communication function of the microcomputer. The whole network is integrated into a belt made of soft fabric, thus, users can put on/off very easily. The sensor system is very reliable because of its decentralized network configuration. The body information obtained from the sensor system is used for controlling the assisting device to achieve a comfortable and an effective walking training.

Entani and Tanaka (2007) presented a new approach for obtaining interval evaluations suitable for handling uncertain data. Above all, their approach is characterized by the normalization of interval data and thus the elimination of redundant bounds. Further, interval global weights in AHP are derived by using such normalized interval data. In this paper, we present a heuristic method for finding extreme points of interval data, which basically extends the method by Entani and Tanaka (2007), and also helps to obtain normalized interval data. In the second part of this paper, we show that the solutions to the linear program for interval global weights can be obtained by a simple inspection. In the meantime, the absolute dominance proposed by the authors is extended to pairwise dominance which makes it possible to identify at least more dominated alternatives under the same information.

A control system was developed for raw material yards of the works of a metal industry. It is devoted to the automatic operations of the raw material yards stackers, and to the improvement of the stacking method to stack granular coal uniformly. The system automatically controls the stacking operations without human intervention, and also prevents any collision between cranes, stackers, jibloaders and the level-roughing cranes.

The application of 112 samples of Citrus fruit peel, which is commonly cultivated in Korea as crude drug, has been limited due to the absence of criteria concerning chemical constituents and application of itself. In the context, this study is on the analysis of 11 flavonoid compounds. As a result, the flavonoid pattern could be classified into 5 groups. Furthermore, by utilizing this HPLC data, this study could provide a basis for fruit peel applications of not only Citrus unshiu, but also its cultivars, hybrids and some of Citrus plants which has been cultivated in Jeju Island for a long time. Moondan could be used for the same purposes as Chinese Huajuhong, and Poncirus trifoliata of Korean Jisil origin are effective enough, in terms of ingredients and function, compared with C. aurantium. Based on the content and composition of the PMF region in this study, C. unshiu and C. reticulata, as Tanaka System shows, should be considered as different hortcultural speicies. Also, Jikak, which is known as 'sour orange' until now, is confirmed as Chosen-daidai, C. tenuissima, that was reported by Tanaka in 1970, and this C. tenuissima could be used for the same purposes as sour orange.
