  • Operational failures may occur even though there had been no signs of defect during the manufacturing process, which may be caused due to exposure to environmental stress which had not been addressed properly during the design process. It is thus necessary to perform environmental testing to determine the cause of the failures. Environmental testing is also used to determine whether a materiel has enough tolerance to the environmental stress during its operation. In this study, the method and level for each environmental testing are properly tailored and applied to a fight aircraft intended to operate in ROK (Republic of Korea), based on the MIL-STD-810G Change 1. Since each part of a fighter aircraft may be exposed to each different environment, LRUs (Line Replaceable Units) exposed to similar environment should be tested similarly. In addition, the decision whether to apply specific test and the tailoring technique in test level were derived for natural and induced environments, respectively. As a fight aircraft is assumed to operate in ROK, the tailoring of test methods and test level to fit to the environment in Korean peninsula is necessary. Further research is needed in determining a specific procedure and a specific level in a test method, and also in determining the test sequence, when conducting more than one is needed, because it can alter test results and it hence becomes an essential element in test design.

  • The system engineering should be actively applied to successfully develop a complex and advanced weapon system, because the system engineering uses a multidisciplinary approach. Therefore, this study proposed a system engineering process for a successful weapon system development. According to the national standard policy, an IPT aspect system engineering standard must adapt the ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288. It also asks for tailoring with considering the IPT characteristics as a weapon system acquisition institution. The IPT aspect system engineering process to acquire a weapon system can be expressed with 3 process groups (Agreement, Technical Management, Technical) and 20 processes. There was a need for an institutional framework to hire retired experts from related organizations as consultants to apply the low-cost and high efficiency system engineering in the weapon system acquisition field.

  • This paper analyze technical review entry criteria and review process based on system property, and review checklist to conform technical review is also showed. The execution of review is determined according to the preparation of review item and identification for risk element. Risk level should be mitigated before technical review by appropriate plan. This paper described the entering condition of technical review for developmental phase, and tailoring consideration for technical review condition. Described technical review entry criteria, review process, and tailoring consideration is applied to development of test equipment for ground ant-air missile system. Applied system specific technical review process, tailored entry condition for test equipment for ground ant-air missile system and review check list is showed and the effectiveness of described system specific technical review process is presented.

  • Tailoring the microstructure and the composition of silicon nitride ceramics can have profound effects on their properties. Here it is shown that the grain growth behavior, in particular its anisotropy, is a function of the specific additives, which allow one to tune the microstructure from one consisting of more equiaxed grains to one with very elongated grains. Recent studies are discussed that provide an understanding of the atomic level processes by which these additives influence grain shapes. Next the microstructural (and compositional) parameters are discussed that can be used to modify the thermal conductivity, as well as fracture toughness of silicon nitride ceramics. As a result of the open <0001> channels in $\beta-Si_3N_4$, the c-axis conductivity can be exceptionally high. Thus, the formation of elongated c-axis grains, particularly when aligned can result in conductivity values approaching those of AlN ceramics. In addition, the controlled formation of elongated grains can also be used to significantly enhance the fracture toughness. At the same time, both properties are shown to be affected by the composition of the densification additives. Utilizing such understanding, one will be able to tailor the ceramics to achieve the properties desired for specific applications.

  • In order for a classification system to be useful in every day business environments, it has to reflect peculiar characteristics of enterprises and organizations. By automating the generation process of classification, the overall operation of classification system becomes effective and efficient. However, in order for it to be really useful, human input and interventions are needed from the very beginning phase of the classification generation. This paper proposes an user-guided classification generation algorithm, in which the user inputs a specific level of the classification that she/he wants. Also we propose and implement manipulation operators to tailor the initial classification into the shape that user wants.

  • Applications such as study guides and adaptive tutoring must rely on a fine grained student model to tailor their interaction with the user. They are useful for Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT), for example, where the test items can be administered in order to maximize the information. I study how to design learner tailoring question process for recommendation. And this process can be applied the CAT and I use the formal language such as CSP in each process development for efficient process design. I use the item difficulty of item response theory for question recommendation process and learner can choice the difficulty step for learning change to control the difficulty of question in next learning. Finally, this method displayed the structural difference to compare between existent and this process.
