These surveys were carried out to investigate of damage of agricultural chemicals, tabacco, and factory smoke on silkworm rearing Autumn in 1975 1. Damaging rate in chemicals, tabacco and factory smoke was 1.4, 0.6 and 0.1 percent each other. 2. In damage by agricultural chemicals, it appeared to be chemicals for rice (49.4%) orchard (21.2%) and vegetable (12.3%) in order. 3. Status of damaging rate in tabacco showed 60 and 18 percent in tabacco field and tobacco drying place near mulberry field. and showed 14 and 8 percent in rabacco drying place and tabacco field near rearing house. 4. The damage of factory smoke is largely stone powder of cement.

Lipophilic fraction(LF) from Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer inhibited the aggregation of human platelets induced by th rombin(0.1u/$m{\ell}$). LF and Molsidomine(vasodilator) induced the stimulation of cGMP - elevation and 50KD - Phosphorylation. and then the inhibition of 20KD - Phosphorylation in human platelets activated by thrombin. LF also inhibited the $Ca^{2-}-influx$ into platelets. When rat(SD : male) was fed with LF, the level of cGMP was increased in rat platelets stimulated by collagen and thrombin. On the other hand. verapamil, $Ca^{2-}-antagonist$ increased cAMP level ;n platelet stimulated by thrombin. but LF does not affected. However LF potently inhibited the thromboxane $A_2(TXA_2)$ production. The results suggest that the inhibitory effects of LF are mediated by regulation the phosphorylatior. of 50KD via cGMP-elevation and depend upon the decrease of $TXA_2$ level.

The effects of polyacetylenes on living membrances, rat erythrocyte and murine leukemic L1210 cell as well as artificial lipid bilayer were determined to investigate the cytotoxic mechanism of polyacetylenes against cancer cell lines. As results, panaxydol and panaxynol caused erythrocyte hemolysis dose-dependently while panaxytriol had no lysis. For liposomes composed of phosphatidyl choline (PC) and phosphatidic acid(PA), all three polyacetylenes supressed the osmotic behavior at the same degree.

This experiment was conducted to obtained basical source for gathering seeds in flue- cured (NC 2326), and to investigate some characters on the relation to gathering number of capsules per a plant; amount of gathering seeds, weight per 1000 seeds and germination rate, respectively. As a results; correlation coefficient of number of capsules and amount of gathering seeds was pros(live correlation (r =0.9771**) , Weight per 1000 seeds (0.16g) was good from 39$\pm$2 capsules and amount of gathering seeds was 4.8g. So it is considered that method of gathering seeds wise proved to be a desirable 39: 2 capsules and amount of gathering seeds was 4- 5 gram.

The field evaluation were conducted on dihaploid progenies derived from anther culture of F1 plant of Drama x Sohyang (N. tabacum L.) The mean values of agronomic and chemical traits of dihaploids such as Nicotine, length/width, plant height, Leaf length, leaves per plant and Yield were greater than those of tar parents. The correlation coefficient of dihaploids were similar to those of conventional lines and varieties. In path analysis, in relating yield components to yield, leaves per plant and leaf width had a direct effect on Yield, but the other components such as plant height, leaf length and days to flowering influenced Yield indirect way.

Three levels of nitrogen, phosphate and potassium were applied to tobacco for the establishment of the optimum rate of the fertilizers for yield and quality. 1 . The rate increment of nitrogen and potassium increased tobacco growth, but phosphate were non - significant between rate. 2. The contents of total-nitrogen and total-alkaloid in the leaf were increased, with the increase of nitrogen rate while the effect of phosphate and potassium were negligible. 3. The yield and quality of the tobacco were increased with the increasing rate of nitrogen and potassium fertilizer but phosphate should little difference.

The pyrolytic behavior of vanillin, a flavorant for manufactured cigarettes, was examined to find its contribution to the smoke composition. Vanillin was pyrolyzed at various temperatures (500-$900^{\circ}C$) in a stream of nitrogen. Pyrolytic products at $800^{\circ}C$ were identified with GC/MS. As increasing temperature, pyrolytic products did not appear with qualitative differences. Component analysis of the resulting products showed that 24 compounds were identified. and phenolic compounds were major products. The pyrolytic pathway of vanillin was also discussed.

Endorcarp inhibited the embryo growth of ginseng seeds. This inhibition is not due to impermeability to water, but is probably caused by mechanical resistance. The embryo growth rate was enhanced by endocarp injury by soaking for 10 to 30 minutes in 2.5% solution of sodium hydroxide. But sulfuric acid did not affect on the embryo growth of ginseng seed.

An automatic method for the determination of total amino acid in tobacco was studied. This method makes use of the reaction of 2, 4, 6-Trinitrobenzene sulfonate with amino acid. Results obtained with this simple and rapid method agreed with those obtained with the offical method.
