한국인의 텔레비전 시청행태에 관한 연구: 가족간 공동시청의 역학을 중심으로 (A Study on the Television Viewing Behavior of Koreans: Focusing on the Dynamics of Coviewing among Family Members)

  • Viewers have always switched channels and they have selected by turning away from the TV and returning to the set when the content seemed more amusing. Also, people usually watch television with their family members and thus the experience of viewing is embedded uniquely in ongoing processes of family interaction. In other words, people develop patterns and habits through the act of viewing together. As viewing with family members is the most frequent mode of media exposure, the context of family viewing needs to be thoroughly examined if we are to understand the family's use of television. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the dynamic nature of television viewing behavior. With the people meter's second-by-second viewing information, first we analyze who, when, and why viewers change channels. The ensuing reduction of advertising impact due to zapping will be investigated as well. Then the focus will be shifted to the dynamic interaction of coviewing among family members. In order to further explore the in-depth nature of television viewing, actual viewing information should be cross-analyzed with respect to both demographic and psychographic variables. In this study we surveyed individual characteristics such as television watching patterns, program type preference, attitude toward commercials, channel control intensity, and personalities. We have demonstrated that the results of an meticulus analysis of survey data provide valuable insights into the dynamics of television viewing among family members.

TV포맷 분쟁에 대한 대체적 분쟁해결 방안 (Alternative Dispute Resolution for TV Format Disputes)

  • The use of program formats has slowly but surely developed into an important component of the television industry. This article examines the surprising gap between the constantly growing, multi-billion-dollar trade of program formats and their unclear and contradictory legal treatment. From both the social and commercial standpoints, television formats are valuable creations. Understanding the two products, the paper and program stages, of a television format and their respective markets, is fundamental to discussions of its legal protection. Interestingly, under current law, the less-developed stages of the process (program ideas and paper formats) are awarded more protection than the aired program format, which accumulates higher levels of investment, creativity, and expression. Internal industry mechanisms, such as vertical integration, damage to reputation, and industry institutions, exist in both markets and are still able to control and influence members' behavior to some extent. However, while the influence of internal industry mechanisms is still strong in the paper format market, in the program format market, which continues to grow, such mechanisms have weakened, amplifying the importance of a clear legal system. The absence of protection will certainly not completely eliminate the production of new program formats. However, these factors do not add up to a case against protection. The changes in the program format market in the last two decades support the theory that the overall effect of providing legal protection for TV formats would promote beneficial competition and encourage more original creations. The underlying question for television formats should not be whether to protect but rather how.

스마트 TV 환경에서 키넥트 센서를 이용한 사진 검색 시스템 (Photo Retrieval System using Kinect Sensor in Smart TV Environment)

  • 디지털 카메라, 스마트폰, 타블렛과 같은 스마트 기기의 대중화와 소셜 네트워크 서비스를 통해서 사진과 같은 멀티미디어 데이터의 양이 빠르고, 급격하게 확산되고 있다. 사진 검색 방법은 키워드 기반의 검색 방법, 예제 기반의 검색 방법, 시각화 질의 기반의 검색 방법의 세 가지 분류될 수 있다. 이전에 연구된 사진 검색 기법은 일반 PC 환경에 최적화되었기 때문에 최근에 등장한 스마트 TV 환경에서 사진 검색하기 위한 방법으로 사용하는 것은 적합하지 않은 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 스마트 TV 환경에서 키넥트를 이용한 소셜 네트워크에 존재하는 사진 검색 시스템을 제안하였다. 이를 위해서 키넥트 센서를 사용하여 마우스의 컨트롤을 제어할 수 있도록 구현하였으며, 제안하는 시스템의 검색 결과는 임계값이 0.7일 때, 평균 재현율과 평균 정확도는 각각 81%, 80%의 성능을 보였다.

  • 현재 에너지 소비를 줄이기 위한 연구들이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그 중 대형 LCD TV 분야는 전체 소비전력의 약 70%이상이 백라이트에 의한 소비이므로, 대형 LCD TV의 전력 절감을 위해서는 효율적인 백라이트 설계에 대한 연구가 매우 중요한 부분이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 백라이트의 효율적인 전력 소비를 위해 다채널 영상 분할 LED백라이트 밝기 제어를 통한 저전력 BLU 설계하였다. 본 연구를 통한 실험을 한 결과 60%이상의 전력 절감효과를 측정하여 연구의 유효함을 입증하였다.

유아의 공감에 관련된 변인 연구 (Factors related to Young Children′s Empathy)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify how characteristics of young children (sex, age, temperament), mothers (employed or unemployed, intimacy between mother and child, parenting attitudes), and home environment (pet, TV/Video viewing) relate to young children's empathy and to examine the relative effects of then variables on young children's empathy. The subjects for this study were 300 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds selected from kindergartens and day-care centers in Busan. Data were analyzed via t-test, correlation, and multiple regression. Results showed that girls had higher empathy score than boys. Young children's empathy was positively correlated with the sociability of young child's temperament, intimacy between mother and young child, reasoning guidance, affect, achievement of parenting attitudes, and parental intervention toward young child after TV/video viewing. However, young children's empathy was correlated negatively with authoritarian control of parenting attitudes. Among then variables, young children's sex was the most significant variable.

  • 현재 상용화되어 서비스되고 있는 IPTV(Internet Protocol TV)는 양방향 서비스를 제공하기 위해 기존의 일반 TV와 달리 복잡한 GUI(Graphical User Interface)로 구성되어 있다. 또한 이렇게 복잡해진 GUI 를 제어하기 위한 리모컨 버튼의 개수가 증가하여 현 IPTV 리모컨은 IPTV 사용성을 저해시키는 요인으로 작용하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 IPTV 사용성 향상을 위한 방법으로 LED 버튼 가이드를 제안하고, 사용자 평가를 통해 제안된 리모컨 인터페이스가 어떠한 방식으로 사용자의 행동에 영향을 주고 사용성을 향상시킬 수 있는지에 관해 분석해 보았다.

Effects of Feedback Respiratory Exercise and Diaphragm Respiratory Exercise on the Pulmonary Functions of Chronic Stroke Patients

  • This study is to examine the effects of a feedback breathing device exercise and diaphragm breathing exercise on pulmonary functions of chronic strokes patients. The selection of 20 subjects was divided equally and placed into a experiment group and a control group and the intervention was applied four times per a week for five weeks. In each session, both groups received rehabilitative exercise treatment for 30 minutes, and a feedback breathing device exercise for 15 minutes. In addition, experimental group conducted a combination of diaphragm breathing exercise for 15 minutes. Prior to and after the experiment, patients' pulmonary functions were measured using a spirometer. The pulmonary function tests included FVC, FEV1, FEV1/FVC, PEF, VC, TV, IC, ERV, IRV. With respect to changes in the pulmonary functions of both groups, the experimental group significantly differed in FVC, FEV1, TV, ERV but did not in PEF, FEV1/FVC, VC, IRV. The control group did not significantly differ in any of the tests. There were significant differences in FEV1, FEV1/FVC, TV, ERV between the two groups, but no significant differences in FVC, PEF, FEV1/FVC, VC, IRV between them after the experiment. The experimental group, which conducted a combination of a feedback breathing device exercise and diaphragm breathing exercise, saw their respiratory ability increase more significantly than the control group. The breathing exercise was found to improve pulmonary function in chronic stroke patients.

TeleRemote를 이용한 원격 제어 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Remote Control System using TeleRemote System)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존외 무선 이동 회선망 및 전화 가입자 회선망을 사용한 정보통신기기에 적용하여 원격 제어를 할 수 있는 인터페이스 장치인 TeleRemote 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. 제안된 방법은 신호 탐지 제어 이론에 기반을 둔 응용 프로그램으로, 컴퓨터에 TV 수신 카드를 장착하여 인터넷을 통한 고효율의 PC-EPG를 이용한 양방향성 방송을 통하여 MPEG-1 포맷의 TV 신호들을 코드화하여 실시간 재생 및 예약 녹화할 수 있는 우수한 성능을 가진다. 또한 통신망을 이용하여 원격 제어 프로그램으로 PC 전원을 ON/OFF한 수 있는 제어동작이 가능하다. PC-EPG 시스템은 서버/클라이언트 형태의 Web 프로그램으로 구현되며 EPG 기능을 제공하는 서버 시스템은 스케줄러에 의한 예약녹화 및 데이터 전송을 담당하며, 클라이언트 PC로의 데이터 저장은 TCP/IP을 통해 Visual C++/MFC 프로그램으로 구현된 클라이언트 프로그램에서 수신처리 된다. 구현된 시스템은 인트라넷을 구성하고 인터넷과 연결된 상업적 통신 시스템에 부합하여 안정성 및 신뢰성을 바탕으로 부가가치 창출이 가능한 시스템임을 확인할 수 있다.

애매논리를 이용한 칼라 텔레비전의 백색균형 자동조정에 관한 연구 (A study on automatic adjustment of white-balance for color television by using the fuzzy logic)

  • The white-balance system for color tevision is characterized by 5 input-5 output nonlinear process. A design strategy of fuzzy control rules is treated in which it can be adopted to the white balance adjustment for color television. A fuzzy rule based on an expert's knowledge is constructed, and then a multivariable fuzzy control rule is designed. Since human has just two hands, he can manipulate two variables simutaneously. In case when the process to be controlled has more than three control variables, expert's control rule is much different from the multivariable control rule. A multivariable fuzzy control rule is constructed by utilizing the expert' knowledge and rough relations between input and output variables, and its usefulness is shown by experiments.

자동차 TV광고의 스토리텔링에 내재된 이데올로기 비판 - 2008~2010년 그랜저 TV광고를 중심으로 (Criticism of Inherent Ideology in the Storytelling of Car TV Commercials - Focusing on Grandeur's TV Commercial in 2008~2010)

  • This writing verifies ideology producing unethical stratification or discrimination targeting on Grandeur's TV commercial after 2008. And attempts to point out the utopia desired by those commercials reproduces distorted ideology at Korean society. To achieve this, the analysis model was postulated utilizing narratology and semiotics system in application of methodology. The result of discussion, is that the 2008 'Grandeur New Luxury' commercial can have utilized the inflected patriotism and sexual fantasies as the core strategy of storytelling. The fact trebly othering women's body from the point of view of gender ethics can be pointed out as the biggest problem in this commercial. 2009 'Grandeur New Luxury' frankly stimulates costumer's desire of stratum rise and possessiveness, circulating the logic 'owning a vehicle' is a proof of their existence. Also considering the meaning woman narration takes up in corresponding commercial, criticism utilizing feminine signifier as a tool to reinforce male success legend was available. Finally 2010 'The Luxury Grandeur' commercial was able to make a judgement using the mechanism of present consumption culture cleverly which Baudrilliard and Althusser has critically recognized. Because commercial images precisely utilizes the mistake called the 'phantasme-$m{\acute{e}}connaissance$' or the 'reconnaissance-$m{\acute{e}}connaissance$' that consumers easily make. Reminding TV commercials exerts control power against unspecified many sitting in front of the TV, continuous studies with same interest are needed in the future. This writing will be able to have a meaning as attempting narratological methodology for analyzing the storytelling of car TV commercials. But systemizing the criticism about the commercial as a single narrative with going through theoretical supplementation is being respected in the future.
