본 논문에서는 APD곡선을 사용하여 일본과 한국 TV 방송 신호의 월경을 예측할 수 있는 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. 그리고, 2006 년 2 월부터 10 월까지 약 9개월간에 걸쳐 부산에서 측정된 일본의 TV 신호의 전파월경실태와 비교하여 분석하였다. 측정 시스템은 원격지에서 제어되어 전송되도록 하였다. 또한, ITU-R P.1546과 측정된 APD곡선을 비교 분석하였다.

유비쿼터스 시대의 발전과 더불어 고품질의 멀티미디어 서비스를 위해 인터넷을 통한 대용량 데이터 전송이 증가하고 있으며 성능향상을 위한 관련 기술 개발의 필요성도 증대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터에서의 인터넷 데이터와 TV 수신 기능의 통합을 통해 안정적이고 빠른 인터넷 성능과 최적의 멀티미디어 연동 기술을 제안하였다. 즉, TV수신 기술과 인터넷 데이터 처리 기술을 하나의 멀티미디어 하드웨어 장치에서 구현함으로써 TV 수신 및 네트워크 장비로써의 기능을 동시에 수행함으로서 부하 조절을 통해 멀티미디어 연동을 최적화 하는 것이다. 그리고 컴퓨터, 셋톱박스, 홈 멀티미디어 게이트웨이 등 다양한 정보 기기 플랫폼 상에서 초고속 인터넷 서비스 제공과 함께 디지털 TV 방송 수신 기능도 갖춘 다기능 멀티미디어 카드를 개발하여 기술을 검증하였다. 이를 통해 개발 카드는 TV 방송 수신 기능과 인터넷 접속을 위한 통합 네트워크 장비로서의 기능을 제공할 수 있게 되었으며, 다양하고 안정된 멀티미디어 서비스의 제공을 위한 기반을 마련할 수 있었다.

With the advent of ubiquitous computing environments, it has become increasingly important for applications to take full advantage of contextual information, such as the user's location, to offer greater services to the user without any explicit requests. In this paper, we propose context-aware active services based on context-aware middleware for URC systems (CAMUS). The CAMUS is a middleware that provides context-aware applications with a development and execution methodology. Accordingly, the applications based on CAMUS respond in a timely fashion to contextual information. This paper presents the system architecture of CAMUS and illustrates the content recommendation and control service agents with the properties, operations, and tasks for context-aware active services. To evaluate CAMUS, we apply the proposed active services to a TV application domain. We implement and experiment with a TV content recommendation service agent, a control service agent, and TV tasks based on CAMUS. The implemented content recommendation service agent divides the user's preferences into common and specific models to apply other recommendations and applications easily, including the TV content recommendations.

본 연구는 학령기 아동의 TV 시청이 창의성에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 아동의 TV 시청이 창의성에 영향을 주는 관계에서 책 읽기 시간의 조절 효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구 목적을 위해 한국아동패널의 10차년도 자료를 사용하여 만 9세 아동의 TV 시청 시간, 책 읽기 시간, 초등 도형 창의성 검사(K-FCTES)에서의 수행 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 아동의 TV 시청 시간과 창의성 간에 부적 상관관계가 나타났으며, 아동의 책 읽기 시간과 창의성 간에는 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 또한, 아동의 TV 시간은 아동의 창의성에 통계적으로 유의미하게 부정적인 영향을 미치고, 아동의 책 읽기 시간은 이 관계를 조절하였다. 본 연구는 출생과 함께 다양한 미디어에 노출되어 디지털 네이티브로 성장하고 있는 오늘날의 아동의 창의성 발달을 위해 고려해야 하는 미디어 노출의 부정적인 영향을 확인하였고 그 영향을 조절할 수 있는 요인으로 책 읽기의 중요성을 보여준다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

본 논문에서는 시각장애인들의 TV 시청시 리모콘이나 별도의 기기의 착용없이 TV 조작이 가능한 제스처 명령의 설계를 소개한다. 시각장애인들의 TV 시청 및 조작 현황 및 수요를 알아보기 위해 저시력 및 전맹 장애인들을 대상으로 설문조사와 그룹 인터뷰를 수행하였으며 현재 시중에 적용된 좌표 포인팅 방식 제스처에 대한 평가 또한 이루어졌다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 현재 시판중인 동작인식 시스템에서 인식가능하며 시각장애인들의 사용성을 고려한 TV 조작 맨손 제스처를 제안한다.

As control programs are becoming larger and more complex, the capacity of a microprocessor in a TV set needs to have a CPU with 32 bits or more. Also the embedded system such like a digital TV set uses RTOS (Real Time Operating System)[1]. LGE Co. has developed a digital TV system that displays HD (High definition) signal with the AR7TDMI CPU and the commercial RTOS[2]. This thesis made improvements on problems caused by porting embedded LiNUX in limited size memory (2 mega byte) instead of RTOS[3]. The advantages of changing to embedded LiNUX take away running OS royalty that needed to make TV sets[4].

This paper describes TVML (TV program Making Language) for automatically generating television programs from text-based script. This language describes the contents of a television program using expression with a high level of abstraction like“title #1”and“zoom-in”. The software used to read a script written in TVML and to automatically generate the program video and audio is called the TVML Player. The paper begins by describing TVML language specifications and the TVML Player. It then describes the“external control mode”of the TVML Player that can be used for applying TVML to interactive applications. Finally, it describes the TVML Editor, a user interface that we developed which enables users having no specialized knowledge of computer languages to make TVML scripts. In addition to its role as a television-program production tool. TVML is expected to have a wide range of applications in the network and multimedia fields.

Social television encompasses the social media aspect of television viewing. This study attempts to investigate how social television influences Hispanic and national ethnic identification as well as social presence. Based on the theoretical framework of Tajfel and Turner's Social Identity Theory (SIT), this study focuses on the potential influence of social television on Hispanics' ethnic identifications and social presence. With a sample of 100 Hispanic students, we conducted a lab experiment to measure the effects of exposure to ethnic and non-ethnic related Twitter feeds on Hispanic and national ethnic identification along with social presence. Findings reveal that there was no significant difference between those exposed to the ethnic-identity related Twitter feed compared to those exposed to the non-ethnic identity related Twitter feed, followed by the control group not exposed to the Twitter feed at all. Implications were discussed.

Many hand gesture recognition systems using advanced computer vision techniques to eliminate the need for a TV remote controller have been proposed. Nevertheless, some issues still remain, such as high computational complexity and insufficient information on the target object and background. Moreover, none of the proposed techniques consider how to enter the control mode of the system. This means that they may need a TV remote controller to enter the control mode. This paper proposes a hand mouse system using a pre-defined gesture with high background adaptability. By doing so, a remote controller to enter the control mode of the IPTV system can be eliminated.

본 논문에서는 디지털 위성 방송 시스템에서 유료 전문채널/방송 프로그램 보호를 위한 접근제어 시스템을 정의 하였다. 접근제어 기능 구현을 위해 전송 레벨에서의 스트림 구조와 선택 기능을 분석하여 접근제어에 있어 가장 중요한 스크램블링/디스크램블링 기능을 정의하였고 접근제어 시스템 구조와 동작을 제시한 후, 자격 통제 메시지와 자격관리 메시지 구조를 각각 기술 하였다. 또한 접근제어의 일환으로 가입자 인증을 위해 스마트 카드 고유번호와 가입자 ID에 기초한 Fiat-Shamir 인증 방식과 Guillou-Quisquater 인증 방식을 제안 하였다. 제안된 인중 방식은 디스크램블러 고유번호나 가입자 ID에만 기초했을 때의 문제점을 해결할뿐 만 아니라 스마트 카드 이용 환경에 매우 효율적이며 안전성면에서도 매우 높다.
