This study was to investigate the elasticity in tourism demand of Chinese tourists visiting Malaysia through ARDL models by using Chinese tourists arrivals, GDP, CPI, transportation costs and others. When China was implementing an open-door policy with foreign countries in the early 15th century, the movement of Chinese was very limited, and then communication between China and other countries was very weak. However, the Chinese government persistently and entirely implemented an open-door policy by participating in the World Trade Organization(WTO) in 2001. The Chinese government has opened the economy through foreign direct investment by providing various incentives for foreign investment. As a result, inbound and outbound Chinese movements increased in the early 21st century. China was one of the top five most visited tourist destinations in the world by 2016, and also Chinese tourists traveling abroad increased, so they made Malaysia a popular tourists destination because of increase sharply to around 1.41 million. This study examined the significance of major economic factors affecting the increase in Chinese tourists arriving in Malaysia. Other factors that induced their arrival included income, tourism prices, transportation costs and promotional activities. Short-run shocks from the Asian economic crisis and the outbreak of SARS were included to understand how tourism demand in Malaysia was affected. Finally this study found that the combination of the ARDL and the Error Correction Model were useful to statistically estimate the elasticities of tourism demand.

Currently, 230 domestic tourist destinations have been designated, established, and operated in accordance with the Tourism Promotion Act. According to the results of preceding research, more than 30% of them have been getting into the stagnation or decline stage. This is becoming a burden to local governments operating and managing tourist destinations, making it necessary to seek resolution measures. Thus, this study determined the activation elements of stagnant/declined tourist destinations regeneration to deal with problems of domestic stagnant or declined tourist destinations and also to regenerate rational and sustainable tourist destinations. This study conducted a survey with experts based on causes for stagnation and decline of domestic tourist destinations suggested by preceding research. Based on the survey results, the activation elements of stagnant/declined tourist destinations regeneration were drawn through the Delphi Technique and Analytic Hierarchy Process. And then the priority and weight of the drawn activation elements of stagnant/declined tourist destinations regeneration were drawn for the sake of reasonable project progress of tour site regeneration. In the results of the analysis, as activation elements of stagnant/declined tourist destinations regeneration, a total of seven upper-attributes, 23 sub-attributes, and 66 detailed-elements were drawn. It would be possible to raise the efficiency of projects and rational decision-making when executing future tourist destinations regeneration projects by using the activation elements drawn. Also, the drawn elements could be applied to the actual tourist destinations regeneration projects as measures for the stagnant/declined domestic tourist destinations' contribution to the vitalization of local economy based on sustainability, prohibition of thoughtless development of domestic tourism projects, and also efficient use of tourism resources.

The paper aims to understand the mediating effect of Country Image (CI) on the relationship between consumer cosmopolitanism and consumers' purchase, visit and investment intentions towards a foreign country, considering the moderating effects of ethnocentrism, materialism, product familiarity, and visits to a country in a global market. The study extends research on the global and local consumption by simultaneously analysing the influence of country image dimensions and several moderating effects on consumers' behavioural intentions. Four hundred and fifty-seven valid responses from international consumers were collected through a questionnaire measuring country image dimensions. Findings indicate that cosmopolitanism has a significant and positive effect on foreign consumers' behavioural intentions and country image dimensions mediate this relationship. Moreover, a moderating effect was found for ethnocentrism, materialism, product familiarity, and visits to a country on the relationship between country cognitions and the intentions to visit the country. This study shows the importance of considering cosmopolitanism as a potential segmentation variable in international markets. The results can help managers and policymakers to better understand the image that foreign consumers hold about Portugal, their intentions to buy or invest in the country, as well as to think of Portugal as a tourism destination.

Among the three store attributes of Dongdaemun shopping malls, service and environment attributes appeared to influence the three drivers of consumer equity. In addition, value equity was identified to provide a positive impact on Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), brand equity, and relationship equity were identified as having a positive impact on revisit intention. Second, the relationships between the variables were significantly different in two types of the Dongdaemun fashion shopping mall (Doota vs Lotte Fitin). This study applied the leisure constraints and negotiation concept to the travel context, especially for traveling in national parks. More specifically, it tries to identify how constraints and negotiation impact a person's travel behavior. The population of this study is the people who intend to visit the national parks for their summer vacations. The data was collected through the panel study, which surveyed the same set of people before and after their trip. Among 527 samples, 39.7% traveled what they planned without any changes. 24.7% did not travel or postponed their trip, and 35.7% enjoyed their vacation but with changes of destination, time or travel periods. These results support that people may use negotiation strategies to overcome their constraints in a travel context. However, there were no statistically significant differences in the impact of constraints on travel behavior among the three groups. The results also confirm that people have to overcome intra-, inter-, and structural constraints for visiting the national parks. Thus, the findings of the study suggest that the concepts of leisure constraints and negotiation is applicable to the travel contexts. Because of its exploratory characteristics, several limitations and cautions were raised.

Ecotourism as a alternative tourism destination has to adapt to current market mechanisms, which is becoming extremely competitive and which are dominated by communication and promotion strategies and techniques. We need to know the causative factors and influences by which tourists are motivated to become included in various market segments. The primary purpose of this study is to segment and profile the motivations of ecotourist, so as to enable a better understanding of ecotourism in Korea. A self-administered survey was collected from 200 tourists in the study area. A factor-clustering method identified four distinct segments: want-it-all seeker, passive seeker, aesthetic seeker, value sharing seeker. We conclude by considering the relevant of our findings to ongoing discussions of ecotourists' market segmentation.

This paper proposes a tourist destination recommendation application that combines a chatbot and a recommendation system. The data to be entered into the chatbot was through big data on social media. Through TEXTOM, a total of 22,701 data were collected over a one-year period from January 2022 to January 2023. Non-terms that interfere with analysis were removed through the data purification process. Using refined data, network visualization and CONCOR analysis were used to identify the information users want to obtain about travel to Jeju Island, and categories for each cluster were organized. The content was intuitively organized so that even those who approached it for the first time could easily use it, reducing the difficulty of operating the application. In this paper, users can select their own preferences and receive information. In addition, a tool called a chatbot allows users to focus more on the process of acquiring information by gaining a sense of reality while operating the application. This suggests an application that can reach the purpose of the curator by affecting the user's desire to visit tourist attractions.
