A Study on the Characteristics of Pyrolysis of Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide with Addition of Sulfuric Acid (황산의 첨가에 따른 Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide의 열분해 특성에 관한 연구)

  • An experiment to examine the characteristics of pyrolysis of Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide was conducted in an air-present environment, using TG-DTA. Decomposition starting temperature was decreased as the increase of 98% concentrated H₂SO₄ to the MEKPO and the maximum decomposition temperature of MEKPO was 116.8℃. The activated energy calculated from differential method of pure MEKPO, MEKPO with 1 wt%, 3wt%, and 5wt% of H₂SO₄ were 0.576㎉/mo1, 0.355㎉/㏖, 0.284㎉/㏖ and 0.258㎉/㏖ respectively.

  • A SOG(spin glass) solution with excellent wetting to Si wafers was prepared by acid-hydrolysis of Si(OEt)4 and Me2Si(OEt)2. The solution was spin coated on Si wafers, and effects of heat treatment of the film were characterized by TG/DTA, FTIR and Ellipsometry. Silica film was obtained by heat treatment at $600^{\circ}C$ within one hour, but heat treatment at 80$0^{\circ}C$ caused interfacial oxidation of the silicon substrate. Unexpectedly silica films with much better adhesion were obtained by curing at $600^{\circ}C$ for over 30 min. than those obtained by thermal oxidation.

  • In this study, the effects of catalyst and DCCA content were investigated in order to determine the optimum conditions of monolithic silica gel formation through sol-gel process. Formamide, oxalic acid, glycerol and dimethylformamide are used as DCCA. To observe the phenomena in drying and heat-treating of gels, we examined structural exchange of gels using FT-IR, TG-DTA and XRD. Monolithic gels were obtained by adding formamide and dimethylformamide as DCCA. According to the heat treatment schedule, silica glass is prepared by heat-treatment up to 1050$^{\circ}C$.

  • ${\alpha}$-Al2O3 powder was produced at 1000$^{\circ}C$ by the boehmite sol-gel process with seeding 2 wt% ${\alpha}$-Al2O3. The processes and mechanisms of fornation of ${\alpha}$-Al2O3 was investigated using DTA/TG, XRD, TR spectroscopy and thermodynamic analysis. The specific surface area of the obtained ${\alpha}$-Al2O3 was 16.3㎡/g.

  • Monolithic silica gel and glass were prepared from TMOS solution with high concentration of HCl. Appearance of the dried gels and gelation time varied with content of HCl and H2O were observed in the TMOS-CH3OH-HCl-H2O system. The conversion from gel to glass during heat treatment stage was investigated using TG-DTA, XRD, IR and SEM and characteristics of the gel were examined by measuring bulk density, linear shrinkage and Vicker's hardness. A transparent silica glass was prepared from the gel after heat treatment at 1050℃.

  • Quick hardened property and compressive strength experimented to the C4A3 quantities. Workability experimented to the hydration behavior as retarder added to the C4A3. Compressive strength reached {{{{ delta }}3h=300~350 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, {{{{ delta }}6h=400~450 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$, {{{{ delta }}24h=500~550 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$. Flow loss rate reached 70.1% to retarder addition 0.12% after 15 min. Test items were SEM, XRD, TG-DTA, MCC, porosity and zeta potential.

  • Effects of chemical compositions on the sintering behavior of the lead borosilicate glass developed for barrier ribs of plasma display panels were investigated in this study. Formation of pores during sintering of the glass was noted and their formation mechanism was investigated using XPS, TG/DTA, and XRD. The results indicated that pores are formed by the oxygen released from Pb-oxides during sintering.

  • In this paper, the cathode materials of solid oxide fuel cell were fabricated, and the analysis of TG/DTA, XRD, thermal expansion and electric conductivity were investigated. As a result, thermal expansion coefficient of LSM was not quite different from that of electrolyte. And the performance of LSM(x=0.4) was more excellent than the others.

  • The object of this paper is to analyze the surface temperature of RC structures caused by fire. The experimental analysis is undertaken by using following two methods. 1) Simulation to analyze the relationship between the temperature and the condition change for glass wool caused by fire. 2) Temperature-analysis (TG/DTA tests) of RC structures. From the results of the two experimental analysis, it was possible to estimate the temperature of RC concrete structures caused by fire.

  • Ti-Sn sol is fabricated using sol-gel method. Initial viscosity of sol decreases with increasing HCl additive. Gelation of sol is retarded with increasing HCl additive. From the results of TG-DTA, the peaks of particular organics combustion do not occur because Sn sol is hydrolyzed sufficiently.
