  • The seismic qualification for the class 1E battery of Korea Multipurpose Research Reactor was accomplished by the analysis as well as testing. The full rack consists of 4 similar sections of typical frame structure and contains 60 cells. However, since the seismic qualification was required on the frame structure and only on 3 aged ones among 60 dells, 2 sections of the full rack were assembled as a test rack with 28 cells including the 3 aged cells for an economic test. Seismic analysis for the full rack was carried out using the finite element program ANSYS. The modal parameters identified from the resonance search thest on the test rack were used to the seismic analysis of the full rack. It was confirmed that the test rack could represent the full rack with regards to seismic responses and function of cells, and that the full rack and aged cells were qualified to the given seismic test requirements.

  • We want to show that the construct of best fuzzy tests for certain fuzzy situations of Poisson distribution. Due to Neyman and Pearson theorem, if we have ${\theta}_0$ and ${\theta}_1$ be distinct fuzzy values of ${\Omega}=\{{\theta}\;:\;{\theta}\;=\;{\theta}_0,\;{\theta}_1\}$ such that $L({\theta}_0\;:\;X)/L({\theta}_1\;:\;X)$ < k, then k is a fuzzy number. For each fuzzy random samples point $X\;{\subset}\;C$, we have most power test for fuzzy critical region C by agreement index.

  • An accurate measurement of the train-track interaction forces is important for track performance evaluation. In the field calibration test as a wheel load measurement process, the calibration system creates a different boundary condition in comparison with that in the train wheel passage. This study aims to evaluate a reliability of the field calibration test in the process of wheel load measurement. Finite element models were developed to compare the deformed shapes, bending moment and shear force profiles on the rail section. The analysis results revealed that the deformed shapes and their associated bending moment profiles on the rail are significantly different in two numerical simulations of the calibration test and the train wheel load passage. However, the shear stress profile on the rail section of the strain gauge installation in the field was almost identical, which may imply that the current calibration test is sufficiently reliable.

  • The need for precise location data is growing across numerous markets, and so is the number of affordable high-precision GPS receivers. In this paper, we validated the performance of RTAP2U, a low-cost high-precision RTK receiver that was recently released. Two positioning modes were tested: static and driving. The static test conducted Zero-Baseline Single-RTK and Network-RTK survey for 57 hours and 51 hours, respectively. For the driving test, Network-RTK survey was conducted using VRS services provided by NGII based on Trimble PIVOT and Geo++ GNSMART. The static test showed about 1 cm horizontal and vertical accuracies, which is very stable considering the test duration longer than 50 hours. The integer ambiguity FIX rate marked a solid 100%. The driving test result also reached a 100% FIX rate. Horizontal and vertical accuracies were better than 2 cm and 3 cm, respectively. Researchers can refer to this paper when considering affordable high-precision GPS receivers as an option.

  • Objective : The aim of this study was to identify correlation between KF-NAP and Pencil-Paper test(Line bisection test, Letter cancellation, Albert's test) and to determine the high sensitive assessment tool for spatial neglect. Method : Thirty-two stroke patients who admitted to an inpatient rehabilitation unit at the medical center in Seoul from September, 2014 to September, 2015 were included in our research. They all have spatial neglect (male=19, female=13, the average age 61.8). KF-NAP and Pencil-Paper test were performed within 7 days. The detection of spatial neglect was analyzed by total scores of each assessments. Results : The highest sensitivity assessments of spatial neglect was KF-NAP. The detection of spatial neglect through KF-NAP was 93.8% (Line bisection test 53.1, Letter cancellation 53.1%, Albert's test 37.5%). Line bisection test (r=.430), Letter cancellation(r=.641), Albert's test(r=.398) and KF-NAP scores had significant correlation(p<0.05). Conclusion : KF-NAP is higher sensitive in comparison with Pencil-Paper test for detection of spatial neglect as the assessment tool of spatial neglect during activities daily livings of patients and neglect severity could be assessed with KF-NAP. Therefore, KF-NAP is recommended for assessment of spatial neglect.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the test methods for predicting field emergence of Lotus corniculatus and Trifolium pratense. Four seed lots of two herbage legumes were controlled deteriorated, accelerated aged before germination test and conductivity of each seed lot was determined. Those germination percent and conductivity of seed lots were compared with actual field emergence rate. Field emergence rate could be estimated by the controlled deterioration test ($R^2$=0.687), by the accelerated aging test ($R^2$=0.260), and by the conductivity test ($R^2$=0.238). A multiple regression equation for predicting field emergence rate(equation omitted) was estimated as (equation omitted)=-198.16 + 2.3493X$_1$-1.5564X$_2$ + 1.9812X$_3$where X$_1$, percent germination of controlled deterioration test ; X$_2$, percent germination of accelerated aging test; and X$_3$, conductivity of solute leakage in the conductivity test. Conclusively, unless multiple tests are not available, the controlled deterioration test was comparatively high efficient for predicting field emergence rate, however, the combined measurements of those three tests can enhance the efficiency.

  • Mumps is an extremly common infectious disease affecting predominantly young children hut it is not a severe disease in terms of mortality. One hundred and two sera from infants of 3 different groups which are vaccinated, unvaccinated and unknown were detected to mumps antibody. The tests used were Complement Fixation(CF) test, Single Radial Hemolysis(SRH) test, Hemagglutination Inhibition(HI) test, Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Immunoglobulin G(ELISA IgG) test, Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Immunoglobulin M(ELISA IgM) test. 1. The rate of positivity for mumps antibody in 102 sera wera 89.16%(74/83) by Hl test, 68.83%(53/77) by ELISA IgG test, 64.58%(62/96) by SRH test, 63.24%(43/68) by ELISA IgM test and 50.00%(49/98) by CF test. 2. The rate of positivity by 5 tests for 55 sera turned out to be very similar with above results respectively. 3. The correlation coefficients(r) between ELISA IgG test ant H1 test, ELISA IgG test and ELISA IgM test were 0.34(P<0.0l) and 0.31(P<0.02), respectively. 4. The percentage of apparently natural infection of mumps seemed to be 65.15%(43/66) in infants. 5. Seroconversion rate of mumps by vaccination were 90.91%(10/11). 6. Among the 53 infants who were tested with ELISA IgG 15 were below 15 months age of(28.30%) and this percentage may be taken as a suggestion that mumps vaccination should be given earlier than present practice. 7. ELISA IgG test was found very sensitive and recommendable method for large scale screening for the presence of antibody to mumps.

  • Purpose: Since the hand elevation test was first introduced by Ahn in 2001, it has been one of most performing provocative test for diagnosing carpal tunnel syndrome. Although many studies have been published on the hand elevation test, there are no study that can explain why false-negative results of hand elevation test appears in carpal tunnel syndrome patients diagnosed by electromyography (EMG) findings. Therefore we searched out whether hand elevation test is related with EMG severity. Materials and Methods: We made a retrospective study of 654 bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome patients. Among them 134 were studied which had different hand elevation test results on each hands. The paired samples t-test was used to compare the EMG severity of each group. The relationships between hand elevation test and EMG severity were examined using Pearson-product correlations. Comparing whether the frequency of false negative hand elevation were different between both hands, and whether the severity of EMG depends on which side of hand is, was evaluated with Mann-Whitney U-test. Results: Severity of EMG in positive group was moderate to severe on average, whereas mild to moderate on negative group, with significant difference statistically (p<0.001). Correlation between the hand elevation test results and EMG severity also showed significance statistically (p<0.001). Conclusion: Mild severity of EMG was found out to be the factor affecting the false results. However, EMG severity and hand elevation test shows a meaningful correlation, supporting the value of hand elevation test.
