A Novel Three-Phase Quasi-Resonant DC Link Inverter (새로운 3상 준공진 직류링크 인버터)

  • A novel three-phase quasi-resonant dc link inverter (QRI)with a switch connected between dc voltage source and resonant inductor is proposed. According to the state of switching and load current, the operating mode of the proposed inverter scheme is classified into free-wheeling, inverting, and rectifying mode. By examining the behavior of the circuit in each operating mode, an equivalent circuit which represents all the modes in a unified manner is derived. The operating principle of QRI at inverting mode is analyzed, and it is shown that the maximum voltage of resonant dc link is confined to twice the dc source voltage and that both the zero voltage switching of inverter and the zero current switching of inserted switch are guaranteed. An appropriate current control algorithm is suggested, and the opeating characteristics of proposed resonant inverter are verified through both simulation and experiment.

  • VCB, with its big arc extinction in very short switching time, produces the high switching surge voltage which may cause the breakdown of motor insulation or acceleration of insulation deterionation. To protect motor winding insulation, we developed the computer algorithm for simulating the surge occurred in VCB by EMTP. And we established the effect of the C-R surge absorber by the surge measurement in the motor-VCB circuit.

  • A robust position-sensing system is proposed in this paper for ubiquitous mobile robots which move indoor as well as outdoor. The Differential GPS (DGPS) which has position estimation error of less than 5 m is a general solution when the mobile robots are moving outdoor, while an active beacon system (ABS) with embedded ultrasonic sensors is selected as an indoor positioning system. The switching from the outdoor to indoor or vice versa causes unstable measurements on account of the reference and algorithm changes. To minimize the switching time in the position estimation and to stabilize the measurement, a robust position-sensing system is proposed. In the system, to minimize the switching delay, the door positions are stored and updated in a database. The reliability and accuracy of the robust positioning system based on DGPS and ABS are verified through the real experiments using a mobile robot prepared for this research and demonstrated.

  • The fuzzy and state-feedback control systems have been applied in various areas from non-linear to linear systems. A Fuzzy controller is endowed with control rules and membership function that are constructed on the knowledge of expert, as like intuition and experience. but It is very difficult to obtain the exact values which are the membership function and consequent parameters. though apply back-propagation algorithm to the system, the convergence time a much. Besides, the state-feedback system is most widely used in industry due to its simple control structure and easily able to design the controller. but it is weak in complex system of higher degree and non-linear. In this paper presents the design of a fuzzy switching mode, it these two controllers work at different operation conditions, the advantages of both controller can be retained and the disadvantages can be removed. Between the Fuzzy and the State-feedback controlles, the good outputs are selected by the switching mode. Moreover it is powerful in complex system of higher degree and non-linear. In these sense compared with the state-feedback controller, the performance of the proposed controller was improvedin the section of linearization.

OFDM MIMO radar waveform design for targets identification

  • In order to obtain better target identification performance, an efficient waveform design method with high range resolution and low sidelobe level for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar is proposed in this paper. First, the wideband CP-based OFDM signal is transmitted on each antenna to guarantee large bandwidth and high range resolution. Next, a complex orthogonal design (COD) is utilized to achieve code domain orthogonality among antennas, so that the spatial diversity can be obtained in MIMO radar, and only the range sidelobe on the first antenna needs suppressing. Furthermore, sidelobe suppression is expressed as an optimization problem. The integrated sidelobe level (ISL) is adopted to construct the objective function, which is solved using the Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno (BFGS) algorithm. The numerical results demonstrate the superiority in performance (high resolution, strict orthogonality, and low sidelobe level) of the proposed method compared to existing algorithms.

  • The Multiple Model/Controller IMC(MMC-IMC) is a model-based control method which uses a set of model/controller pairs rather than a single model/controller to handle all possible operating conditions in the IMC control structure. During operation, one model/controller pair that best fit, for current plant situation is chosen by the switching algorithm. The major drawback of the switching controller is the bad transient performance due to the model error and the use fo linear controller for nonlinear plants. In this paper, we propose a method that transient response of the MMC-IMC using two recurrent neural networks. Simulation result shows that the proposed method represents better performance than the usual MMC-IMC`s.

An Analog Encoder for Precise Angle Control of SRM

  • In a switched reluctance motor drive, it is important to synchronize the stator phase excitation with the rotor position, because the position of rotor is an essential information. Although high resolution optical encoders or resolvers are used to provide a precise position information, these sensors are expensive. Moreover, in the high-speed region, switching angles are fluctuated back and forth out of the preset value, which is caused by the sampling period of the microprocessor. In this paper, a low cost analog encoder suitable for practical applications is proposed. And the control algorithm to generate switching signals using a Simple digital logic is presented. The validity of the proposed analog encoder with a proper logic controller is verified from the experiments.

  • CCITT recommendation X.25 and X.75 have been applied to the PSPDN environment for data communication of packet switching. They have also been used for packet switching in the ISDN exchanges since about the year 1980. This paper presents the throughput of the TDX-10 packet handler as simulating the performance based on memory management and flow control of the resource management algorithm designed originally.

  • 입출력버퍼형 스위치를 위한 간단한 셀 스케줄링 알고리즘을 제시한다. 스위치는 고속동작 및 성능 향상을 위해 이중 스위칭 플랜을 갖고 있다. 제안한 알고리즘은 각각의 스위칭 플랜에서 독립적으로 수행되며 전송요청 (request), 전송허가(grant). 전송확정 (accept)의 3 단계 동작으로 이루어져 있다. 또한 각 3 단계동작을 한 셀시간에 한 번씩만 수행하여 단위 셀시간이 작은 고속 스위칭에 적합하다. 모의실험 결과 제안한 알고리즘의 성능이 Bernoulli 트래픽 입력에 대해 출력버퍼형 스위치의 성능과 거의 동일하였다.

  • This mininzation of the multi-output switching function becomes a difficult task when the input varibles and the number of functions increase. This paper describes the optimal selection of prime inplicats for the multi-output switching function by using the Inter-section Table. This procedure is applicable to both manual and computhe programmed realization without complesith. The algorithm is implemented by a computer program in the standard FORTRAN iv language.
