  • All the resitors in the active RC filter networks can be relplaced by the switched capacitors. Therefore, An SC filter circuit can be fully integrated using MOS technology. A switched capacitor is much better than a resistor in temperature and linearity characteristics, and the former can be fabricated on the much smaller area then the latter. In this paper, It is given the generalized disign method of the active SC filter from the active RC filter using Bilinear Z-transformation. By SC filtering Techniques using Bilinear Z-transform, It enalbes us to realize the FDNR and Gyrator filters, which could not be realized in the exsisting designs, and it permits the processing of signals at much higher frequenies that many previous designs do. Experiments show that the response of the SC active filter is similiar to that of its prototype active RC filter.

  • The recent interest in the design of filters is motivatied by the fact that such filter can be fully integrated using standard metal-oxide-semiconductor processing technology. This is due to replacing all the resistors in the active RC filter network by the switched capacitors. The voltage gain of a SC filter depends only on the rations of capacitance and these ratios can be obtained and maintained to high accuracy. Therefore, it is known that a switched capacitor is much better than a resistor in temperature and linearity characteristics. This paper proposed a programmable SC filter and proved the fact that ${omega}_0$ Q and G of this circuit can be controlled by digital signal. Experiments show that SC filter remains the low sensitivities but it can't avoid little influence of parasitic capacitance. As the transfer characteristic of the SC filter is varied with sampling frequency and resistor array, SC filtering technigue can be applied for digital processing, speech analysis and synthesis and so on.

  • This paper presents the design of a low-voltage wide-band switched-capacitor (SC) filter for wireless communication receiver applications. The filter is the 5th-order Elliptic lowpass filter. With the clock frequency of 50MHz implying that an effective sampling frequency is 100MHz with double sampling scheme, the cut-off frequency of the filter is programmable to be 1.25MHz, 2.5MHz, 5MHz and 10MHz. For low-power systems powered by a single-cell battery, the SC filter was elaborately designed to operate at 1.2V power supply. Simulation result shows that the 3rd-order input intercept point (IIP3) can be up to 27dBm. The filter was fabricated in a $0.25-{\mu}m$ 1P5M standard CMOS technology and measured frequency responses show good agreement with the simulation ones. The current consumption is 34mA at a 1.2V power supply.

  • This paper describes an integrated low pass filter fabricated by using $0.8{\mu}m$ single poly CMOS ASIC technology. The filter has been designed for a 5th-order elliptic switched capacitor filter with cutoff frequency of 5khz, 0.1dB passband ripple. The filter consists of MOS swiches poly capacitors and five CMOS op-amps. For the realization of the SC filter, continuous time transfer function H(s) is obtained from LC passive type, and transfered as discrete time transfer H(z) through bilinear-z transform. Another filter has been designed by capacitor scaling for reduced chip area, considering dynamic range of the op-amp. The test results of two fabricated filters are cutoff frequency of 4.96~4.98khz, 35~38dB gain attenuation and 0.72~0.81dB passband ripple with the ${\pm}2.5V$power supply clock of 50KHz.

  • The continuous time signal system by development of CMOS technology have been receiving consideration attention. In this paper, Low pass filter using CMOS floating resistor have been designed with cut off frequency for speech signal processing. Especially a new floating resistor consisting entirely of CMOS devices in saturation has been developed. Linearity within $\pm$0.04% is achieved through nonlineartiy via current mirrors over an applied range of $\pm$1V. The frequency response exceeds 10MHz, and the resistors are expected to be useful in implementing integrated circuit active RC filters. The low pass filter designed using this method has simpler structure than switched capacitor filter. So reduce the chip area. The characteristics of the designed low pass filter using this method are simulated by pspice program.
