The Site Installation Test of Single-Phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine Localization (단상 MJ81 전기선로전환기 국산품의 현장설치시험)

  • In this paper, we describe the performance results of the field installation test which is required to practicalize the single-phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine. This product has passed the certified test through performance improvement of driving parts in order to use 3 phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine, which is localized by taking over technology from Alstom and Cogifer when constructing Seoul-Busan rapid-transit railway, without change of the electrical equipment at track-side in domestic existing lines which single-phase 220V is used. KRRI and Samsung SDS have localized the single-phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine to improve the speed and safety of the conventional lines through the existing railway technology development project. For practicalization of this, we should, however, verify the performance through not only field installation test in real lines but also interface test with the interlocking. In this paper we verify the practicality of the domestic single-phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine through analysis on the performance result of the field installation test as well as the research contents for this test. Thereby, in Feb 2009 we have received an order from the Korea Rail Network Authority and are currently installing the single-phase MJ81 Switch Point Machine.

Study on the improvement of Memory-device unification for Point-switch machine (선로전환기용 기억쇠 단일화 개선방안 연구)

  • Memory-device is one of the auxiliary components of point-switch machine; connecting front-rod and tongue-rail. The right side and left side of memory-device are different from each other. When there would be a derailing accident of rolling stock or motor-car, the memory-device properly bends and protects the internal of point-switch machine. Memory-device is one of the important site maintenance spare parts. Memory-device for each of right and left side should be secured so that they can be installed on correct side during an exchange work. This study suggests the development of memory-device with different left and right side and the performance test of it. The study intends to contribute in the convenience improvement of maintenance by improving the unification of memory-device.

  • A turnout serves to switch train from one line to another. The turnout consists of a Point which is switchs the rail to induce direction, and a Crossing which is cross over two line on the plane surface, and a Lead where is middle section in Point to Crossing. Point machine, consists of a turnout, is important facilities in railway signal, that is safety issue relates in derailment of the train. Recently, train delay and accident frequently occurred because of the turnout include in a point machine trouble of electrical and mechanical. So in order to prevent train accident the research is advanced, install of normal and reverse indication lamp in a point machine, development of adherence detector for sensing the status of adhesion between the stock rails and tongue rails etc. In this paper investigates the problem which is connected with a turnout trouble, include in a point machine, occurrence at the time of train accident, and then proposed to the safety system model in order to prevent the train accident in turnout.

  • In this paper, we present the improvement on the performance of driving part for single-phase MJ81 switch point machine which has been developed for localization. The single-phase motor's specification and reliability for speed and safety improvement of conventional line was investigated in "Development project for Speed-up on Conventional Line" We systemized the test procedure fur single-phase motor by investigating the feasibility for localization and the specification of function and performance. Also, we developed appropriate technology and proved the durability of the single-phase driving motor by executing synthesis test over 200,000 times.

  • In this thesis, the effect of switch maintenance improvement is confirmed after testing and operating the switch monitoring system that were researched and developed originally in order to improve method of electric switch maintenance. However, as in an automatic interlocking station where a ground crew was not placed, repair and inspection could not be carried out until the maintenance person comes in case of switch problems or maintenance. In order to improve this issue, control module was installed in a monitoring system which can communicate through a data radio to a remote computer. Thus, the monitoring device can receive control information which a remote computer commands during the operation of switches. Afterward, it shows information on the real-time status of swith, in particular, anomaly situation through user interface after the switch is operated. By improving performance of the monitoring system in this way which can be managed and controled at a remote place, the prompt countermeasure system in case of disruption will be built and as a result, efficiency and convenience of maintenance improvement will be expected to increase.

  • This study was to investigate performance of position, basic controls and additional control for man-machine interface on a 3-point hitch of a tractor. The developed additional control was one-touchup, backup, turnup, liftarm limited, PTO on/off and an external control. As a result of experiment, maximum steady state error of response system was lower than $0.8^{\circ}$ and this result showed the function operated normally because the dead band of system set was ${\pm}1^{\circ}$. There was no abnormal situation by switch operation and sensor signal during the performance test. The results of experiment showed the characteristics of the response was sufficient to be used as the position and additional control system for tractors.

  • This paper proposes the detection algorithm for switch open fault of asymmetric 6-phase PMSM based on stationary reference frame dq-axis currents. In this paper, target motor has an asymmetric structure in which two upper three windings have an electrical phase difference of 30° and a neutral point is separated. As a result, dual 3-phase PWM inverters and the detection techniques due to open failures of switch are definitely required. In this paper, the dual dq-axis current control method is used for driving the asymmetric 6-phase PMSM and the open fault switch should be detected by using variable all pass filter and low pass filter in order to detect the current amplitude. The effectiveness and usefulness of the proposed method is verified by several experiments.

  • Three phase Boost/Buck converter which have economical merits and simple control scheme, are analyzed and evaluated through comparative methods and digital simulation for equivalent load. Those play a part of voltage boost/buck as well as power factor correction with single switch. Controller operating in constant and variable frequency is used for rapid output response and stable system condition respectively. Moreover low THD property of single switched converters is available for inverter arc welding machine known as high power and low power factor. So, in this paper a comparison of the characteristics in boost and buck converter is described and then simulation results conforms the merits from point of view of power factor and voltage regulator.

The Improvement of Electrical Point Machine Wiring Set (선로전환기(NS)의 배선세트 개선)

  • An Electrical Point Machine (NS:New-type Switch), which is equipped and operated at railways in Korea, has been used since the 1960s after being imported from Japan. On the other hand, although the mechanical configuration has improved the position motor control circuit, the electrical connection has not been improved, so NS may have a problem, such as the interlocking system of automatic train operation. In addition, NS is the most vulnerable part in the railway system and a huge train accident may occur due to minor defects. The existing NS wiring set of the circuit controller should be checked only if fixed. Therefore, an excessive inspection time only by a Railroad Signal expert is required. In this paper, the improvement of electrical connection in a NS wiring set, such as the position motor control circuit, was developed and the prototype was installed at Seoul Metro in the distance to go section. The results can be used to help make appropriate adjustments. The improvement of the NS wiring set enhance the maintenance efficiency, passenger service and the stability of the signal system as well as reducing the maintenance cost.

Raspberry Pi Based Smart Adapter's Design and Implementation for General Management of Agricultural Machinery (범용 농기계관리를 위한 라즈베리 파이 기반의 스마트어댑터 설계 및 구현)

  • We designed and implemented the attachable smart adapter for the general management of each company's agricultural machine regardless of whether it is equipped with a CAN (Controller Area Network) module. The smart adapter consists of a main board (Raspberry Pi3B), which operates agricultural machine's management software in Linux environment, and a self-developed interface board for power adjustment and status sensing. For the status monitoring, a sensing interface using a serial input was defined between the smart adapter and the sensors of the agricultural machine, and the state diagram of the agricultural machine was defined for diagnosis. We made a panel to simulate the sensors of the agricultural machine using the switch's on/off contact point, and confirmed the status monitoring and diagnostic functions by inputting each state of the farm machinery from the simulator panel.
