저가격 고 신뢰성의 400Hz 전원의 무순단 전력절환용 개선된 동기화 기법 (An Improved Synchronization Control Scheme of a Low Cost 400Hz Power Supply for No-Break Power Transfer)

  • This study proposes an improved synchronization control scheme for a low-cost 400Hz power supply for a no-break power transfer system. In the case of aircraft applications, the 400Hz power supply called ground power units is accepted and used as the external electrical power system during stopovers on ground. A momentary break in the supply occurs when shifting from one power source to another. To allow shifting without a break in the supply, the two power sources are momentarily connected in parallel. The proposed synchronization control is achieved by connecting an existing synchronization bus to the voltage zero-crossing signal of a generator power with discrete logic ICs and analog circuits. Therefore, unlike expensive controllers, such as DSP and CAN, the proposed control scheme is rather simple and may decrease operational cost. The practical feasibility of the proposed control scheme is proven by experimental results.

  • Electronic control units (ECUs) are currently popular, and have evolved further towards the high-end application of autonomous vehicles in the automotive industry. Such digital technologies have also become widespread, in agriculture and construction equipment. Likewise, transmission control of high-speed tracked vehicles is based on the transmission control unit (TCU), performing complex gear change control functions, and diagnostic algorithms (a TCU's self-diagnostic and reporting capability of malfunction data through CAN communication). Since all functions of TCU are implemented by embedded-software, it is hardly possible to analyze specifications by reverse engineering. In this paper a real-time transmission simulator adaptable to TCU is presented, for analysis of diagnosis algorithm and standards. Signal simulation circuits are deliberately designed considering electrical characteristics of TCU inputs and various analysis tools, such as analog input auto scan function, and global output enable switch, are implemented in software. Test results from hardware-in-the-loop simulator verify tolerance time for each error, as well as cause of fault, error reset conditions.

Control and Analysis of an Integrated Bidirectional DC/AC and DC/DC Converters for Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle Applications

  • The plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) are specialized hybrid electric vehicles that have the potential to obtain enough energy for average daily commuting from batteries. The PHEV battery would be recharged from the power grid at home or at work and would thus allow for a reduction in the overall fuel consumption. This paper proposes an integrated power electronics interface for PHEVs, which consists of a novel Eight-Switch Inverter (ESI) and an interleaved DC/DC converter, in order to reduce the cost, the mass and the size of the power electronics unit (PEU) with high performance at any operating mode. In the proposed configuration, a novel Eight-Switch Inverter (ESI) is able to function as a bidirectional single-phase AC/DC battery charger/ vehicle to grid (V2G) and to transfer electrical energy between the DC-link (connected to the battery) and the electric traction system as DC/AC inverter. In addition, a bidirectional-interleaved DC/DC converter with dual-loop controller is proposed for interfacing the ESI to a low-voltage battery pack in order to minimize the ripple of the battery current and to improve the efficiency of the DC system with lower inductor size. To validate the performance of the proposed configuration, the indirect field-oriented control (IFOC) based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) is proposed to optimize the efficiency of the AC drive system in PHEVs. The maximum efficiency of the motor is obtained by the evaluation of optimal rotor flux at any operating point, where the PSO is applied to evaluate the optimal flux. Moreover, an improved AC/DC controller based Proportional-Resonant Control (PRC) is proposed in order to reduce the THD of the input current in charger/V2G modes. The proposed configuration is analyzed and its performance is validated using simulated results obtained in MATLAB/ SIMULINK. Furthermore, it is experimentally validated with results obtained from the prototypes that have been developed and built in the laboratory based on TMS320F2808 DSP.

  • This paper focuses on the Current-Voltage concurrent control method devoted to the multiple LED (light-emitting diode) string driver. Isolated DC to DC converter with cascaded chopping switch is proposed for smart lighting system such as light with sensor or back light unit of display, which need to control the current of parallel connected multiple LED stings and regulate DC voltage for micro controller for brightness control. The proposed circuit regulates the current of parallel connected multiple LED strings and additional DC voltage output simultaneously. To verify the performance, experimental results are presented based on the prototype board. 5V, 1A voltage mode electric load and two LED strings with different forward voltages are used for output loads. 23W output power is achieved and measured efficiency is in the range of 85%-87%

  • This paper presents development of 6kw ZVS(Zero Voltage Switching) boost converter by 4-parallel operation. To realize a high capacity converter with 6 kw, 4-parallel operation of 1.5kW unit module is proposed in this paper. To meet high ratio input to output voltage, isolated type booster converter is designed. To achieve ZVS operation of 4-switches of full bridge and protect a voltage overshoot caused by switch turn-off, simple active-clamp circuit is applied to the primary side. For parallel operation of 4-modules, master-slave control method is proposed to achieve input current sharing of 4-unit converter modules accurately. For performance tests, simulation is carried out. Also, load and experimental tests of the developed booster converter, 230Vdc/6kW, are carried out under various conditions. For field tests, the developed converter is applied for boosting a battery power to high DC_link voltage for a VSI inverter which starts a micro-turbine(MT) installed in vehicle and it's performance is verified through high speed motoring a MT up to tens of thousands of rpm.

A Modified Switched-Diode Topology for Cascaded Multilevel Inverters

  • In this paper, a single phase modified switched-diode topology for both symmetrical and asymmetrical cascaded multilevel inverters is presented. It consists of a Modified Switched-Diode Unit (MSDU) and a Twin Source Two Switch Unit (TSTSU) to produce distinct positive voltage levels according to the operating modes. An additional H-bridge synthesizes a voltage waveform, where the voltage levels of either polarity have less Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). Higher-level inverters can be built by cascading MSDUs. A comparative analysis is done with other topologies. The proposed topology results in reductions in the number of power switches, losses, installation area, voltage stress and converter cost. The Nearest Level Control (NLC) technique is employed to generate the gating signals for the power switches. To verify the performance of the proposed structure, simulation results are carried out by a PSIM under both steady state and dynamic conditions. Experimental results are presented to validate the simulation results.

소용량 및 대용량의 ATM시스템에 적합한 스위칭 망의 구성 방안 (Construction Methods of Switching Network for a Small and a Large Capacity AMT Switching System)

  • 우수한 성능의 ATM 스위칭 시스템 개발을 위한 주요 목표가 셀 손실, 셀지연 및 처리율의 저하를 최소화하는데 있으며, 이러한 목적에 가장 적합한 ATM스위치 소자가 램덤 액세스 메모리 및 제어 논리에 의해 수행되는 공유 버퍼 메모리 스위치(shared buffer memory switch)이다. 이 스위치는 입력 포트의 수가 증가할 수록 VLSI의 제조가 어렵기 때문에 최근의 소용량 및 대용량의 ATM 스위치는 8$\times$8,600 b/s 또는 16$\times$16,150 Mb/s의 단위 스위치를 사용하여 32$\times$32(4.9 Gb/s), 150Mb/s의 스위치를 구현하는 스위치 모듈 방법을 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 단위 공유 버퍼 메모리 스위치의 버퍼 공유에가 위한 전체 메모리 감소 효과를 만족하는 버퍼 용량을 해석적 으로 평가하고, 트래픽 조건에 따른 셀 손실율을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션한 결과를 제시 하며 또한, 스위치 모듈 방법을 이용하는 소용량 및 대용량 ATM 스위치 마의 특징을 분석,이 결과를 바탕으로 현재 각국에서 연구중인 32$\times$32, 150Mb/s의 스위치 구조를 제시하며, 궁극적으로 위 주요 목표들을 만족하는 소용량 및 대용량의 ATM 스위칭 시 스템을 위한 고속 스위칭 망 구조를 제시한다.

PFM/PWM 듀얼 모드 피드백 기반 LED BLU 구동용 LLC 공진 변환 제어 IC 설계 (A Design of PFM/PWM Dual Mode Feedback Based LLC Resonant Converter Controller IC for LED BLU)

  • 본 논문은 Pulse Frequency Modulation(PFM)/Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) 듀얼 모드 피드백 기반 LED 백라이트 유닛 구동용 LLC 공진 변환 제어 IC 설계에 대한 내용을 제시한다. 공진형 변환기에서 하나의 변압기를 사용하면서, 두 가지 출력 전압을 생성할 수 있는 구조를 제안하였으며, Master 출력은 PFM 방식으로 Slave 출력은 PWM 방식으로 제어하도록 설계 하였다. 2차 측 Master 출력을 제어하기 위해서 파워 스위치 제어 신호의 주파수를 조절하는 PFM 피드백과 2차 측 Slave 출력을 제어하기 위해서 파워 스위치 제어 신호의 펄스 폭을 조절하는 PWM 피드백 회로를 설계하였다. 설계된 IC는 $0.35{\mu}m$ 2 Poly 3 Metal BCD(Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS) 공정을 이용하여 레이아웃 되었으며, 면적은 $2.3mm{\times}2.2mm$ 이다. 또한, 설계한 칩은 5 V 공급 전압으로부터 26 mA의 전류를 소모하였다.

CBTC 시스템에서 논리 폐색과 이동 폐색의 혼용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Mixed Usage of Logical Block and Moving Block in CBTC System)

  • This paper proposes a CBTC wayside signaling system, which redeems existing track-circuit-based ones by using movement authorities mixed with logical block and moving block. Only one train can be entered into the logical block or the route for existing wayside signaling system. Applying moving block for CBTC system enables the train to get nearer to the preceding one, because its protection mechanism uses train's safe boundary, not fixed block unit. By narrowing the existing route set to switch machine and applying the moving block beyond that area, more than one train can enter into one route area. This paper shows that the efficient train control, i.e. shortening the headway, is possible using the moving block mixed with logical block in wayside signaling system.

An Advanced Simulation Model for Brushless DC Motor Drives

  • A dynamic simulation model for the brush less dc (BLDC) motor drives using Matlab is presented. In this model, an entire BLDC motor drive, including power conversion unit, BLDC motor, and speed/torque control system, is investigated. Especially, the PWM inverter is modeled using switching function concept, so that the detailed voltage and current waveforms, such as line-to-line voltages, inverter input current, ac line current, and switch/diode currents, can be obtained and average/rms ratings of the components can be easily calculated. Also, the proposed model is made into modular blocks and it can be easily extended to other ac motor applications with a little modification. The detailed modeling method is explained and its actual implementation is described. The validity of the proposed model is verified by various simulation results.
