  • Purpose : The purpose of study was to determine effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation pattern exercise with Swiss ball exercise and Swiss ball exercise on balance in the 40 students from H university. Method : There were two experimental conditions. There were two difference groups in the experimental conditions, which had to perform different exercise tasks: Swiss ball exercise group (n=20) and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation exercise with Swiss ball exercise group(n=20). The experimental group received Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation exercise for 20minutes and Swiss Ball exercise for 40minutes, 3 times a week for 4weeks. While another experimental group received Swiss Ball exercise for 40minutes, 3 times a week for 4weeks. In order to evaluation effects of the Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation pattern exercise with Swiss Ball exercise and Swiss Ball exercise in the two different experimental group, subjects was measured by static balance. Statistical analysis was the paired t-test to compare the differences within groups and the SPSS to analyze the differences between groups. Results : The result of this study were as follows: The static balance was higher for the two different experimental group in post-exercise than in pre-exercise(P<0.5). Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation pattern exercise with Swiss Ball exercise experimental group was significant difference better then another experimental group(P<0.5). Conclusion : The Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation pattern exercise with Swiss Ball exercise can result in improved static balance better then Swiss Ball exercise.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of swiss ball program training on lower extremity function of old elderly with mild cognitive impairment. The subjects were 30 mild cognitive impairment eldrly people aged between 65 and 80, who were divided into the swiss ball program training group(n=15) and the control group(n=15). The swiss ball program training group engaged in a 50-minute exercise session using. Lower extremity function scale of the two groups were measured before and after the intervention. The results are as follows. According to the swiss ball program training conducted to examine the effects of the training on lower extremity function, Moreover, the two groups showed significant differences in lower extremity function. These results indicate that virtual reality training is effective in improving lower extremity function. To conclusion, swiss ball program was found to have a positive effect on elderly lower extremity function. Swiss ball program training can be proposed as a form of fall prevention exercise for the mild cognitive impairment. Swiss ball program may be helpful to reduce the incidence of dementia and behavioral complications.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of swiss ball exercise and taping therapy on back muscle strength on normal college students. The aim of this study was to find effective method for back muscle strengthening. Subjects of 30 college students divided 3 groups(taping therapy group: 10, swiss ball group: 10, control group: 10). All subjects inquired physical conditions and normal exercise habits for data base. Back muscle strength measured before and after 3 weeks intervention. Taping therapy was displayed stable a growth curve in continuative a growth graph of back muscle strength better than swiss ball exercise, because it was taping therapy by periodic effect. The result of this study known to effective either taping therapy or swiss ball exercise, but both taping therapy and swiss ball exercise were effect to increase in back muscle strength.

  • Purpose : The Purpose of this study was performed to find out back flexibility and strength by Swiss ball and sling exercise. Methods : Subjects were randomly assigned to 3 groups; Swiss ball(n=9), Sling(n=8) and Swiss ball and Sling(n=8). Each groups had the exercise 30 minute per week for 4 weeks. The case of Swiss ball-sling group had 15 minutes for ball exercise and 15 minute for sling exercise. Results : First, sling group among groups significantly increased in flexibility test 1. Second, ball group among groups significantly increased in flexibility test 2. Third, ball-sling group among groups significantly increased in strength test 1 and 2. Fourth, follow-up study after 2 weeks was revealed that flexibility and strength were decreased in all groups. Conclusion : The effect were not consistent with exercise methods. Accordingly, it should be selected for purpose and effect you want.

In general, the swiss ball exercise was related in the core muscle ability. Methods: The experiment was conducted with a total of 10 beginner golfer, and they were dicide into two groups: comparison group(n=5) and experimental group(n=5). In this research, the subjects of the comparison group performed the general matte exercise three times a week, for four weeks. The subjects of the experimental group performed the swiss ball exercise in combination with core muscle three times a week, for four weeks. Use the 7-iron and driver were measured head speed and distance of the comparison group and the experimental group, respectively. The collected data were analyzed by using the paired t-test and ANCOVA Results: The results of this study were as follows: 1) Swiss ball exercise in combination with core muscle revealed the significant improvements after corresponding exercise in golf performance capability. 2) Mat exercise was seen less better than the swiss ball exercises. Conclusion: This results suggested that it was improved the golfer shot performance of beginner proposes to see the Swiss combined movement.

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate any changes in abdominal muscle activity after curl-up and jack-knife exercisse using a sling and swiss-ball. METHODS: Sixteen asymptomatic subjects were randomly assigned into either a sling exercise group (SG) or swiss-ball exercise group (SBG). Subjects performed curl-up and jack-knife exercise using sling and swiss ball. Activity of abdominal muscles (rectus abdominis and external oblique) was assessed using surface electromyography (EMG) and normalized maximal voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) before and after exercises. The significance of differences between the SG and the SBG was evaluated by analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). RESULTS: There was an increase in activity of all abdominal muscles after the curl-up and jack-knife exercises for 6 weeks. However, there was not a significant difference between the SG and the SBG after curl-up exercise (p>.05). There was also not a significant difference between the SG and the SBG after Jack-knife exercise (p>.05) except for the right external oblique muscle (p<.05). CONCLUSION: Exercises on an unstable surface using a sling and swiss ball are effective ways of abdominal muscle exercise.
