스월 인젝터의 음향학적 감쇄기로서의 백홀에 대한 연구 (Backhole as an Acoustic Damper for the Swirl Injector)

  • 스월 인젝터의 분무특성을 변화시키는 기하학적인 변수인 백홀은 스월 인젝터의 내부유동이나 음향학적인 특성에도 큰 영향을 주게 된다. 백홀이 연소불안정 제거를 위하여 연소실에 부가적으로 부착하는 음향공(Acoustic cavity)과 유사한 역할을 할 수 있는지 알아보기 위하여 백홀을 Helmholtz resonator나 Quarter-wave resonator로 해석하였다. 그 결과 백홀을 가지는 스월 인젝터는 연소실내의 파동과 상쇄될 수 있는 고유주파수를 가지게 될 수 있었다. 또한 이를 위한 설계식을 제시하였다.

파력발전을 위한 파유기 회전수류 유수실의 국내 연안 적용 가능성에 대한 수치해석적 조사 (Numerical Investigation on the Applicability of Wave-Induced Swirl Water Chamber for Wave Power Generation in Coastal Water of Korea)

  • In this paper, a wave-induced swirl water chamber (SWC) for breakwater and wave power generation is introduced and its applicability to wave power generation in the coastal waters of Korea is investigated. The SWC type of wave power generation is a way to drive a turbine using the unidirectional swirl flow that is induced in the back of a curtain wall of a breakwater due to incident waves. The typical wave characteristics are obtained by analyzing the annual statistical wave data from KHOA (Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Administration). A numerical analysis is carried out on the variations in the SWC entrance height, wave height, and different installation conditions. For the numerical analysis, a commercial code, Fluent based on FVM, is used. As the entrance height decreases, the mass flow rate through the entrance is rarely changed, whereas the magnitude of the flow velocity of the smaller entrance height is greater than the other ones, which is better for the formation of an SWC swirl flow inside and the flow kinetic energy at the entrance. In cases of installation conditions where a wall is place behind and under SWC, it has been shown that the mass flow rate through the entrance is greater than that in the open condition, and sufficient flow kinetic energy is generated in the entrance for wave power generation. However, the swirl flow kinetic energy is relatively small. Thus, in the future, it is necessary to study the swirl flow generation, which is affected by the SWC shape.

와류실식 소형디젤기관의 배기 성능에 관한 연구 (Study on exhaust emission at the swirl chamber in small diesel engine)

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the performance of swirl combustion chamber diesel engine by changing the jet passage area, the depth and shape of the piston top cavity (main chamber). The performance of diesel engine with newly changed swirl combustion chamber was tested through the experimental conditions as engine speed, load and injection timing etc. The test results were compared and analyzed. And another purpose of this research is to make a new diesel engine that is satisfied fuel consumption and regulation value of exhaust gas. 1. The rate of fuel consumption was affected significantly by the jet passage area at the high speed and load than low speed and low load. The influence of jet passage large area was proven to decrease the rate of fuel consumption. 2. Smoke was affected significantly by the depth of the piston top cavity, but exhaust temperature and the rate of fuel consumption wasn't affected. The rate of fuel consumption was affected by changing injection timing. 3. The rate of fuel consumption, exhaust temperature and Smoke were affected significantly by the shape of the piston top cavity from rectangular to trapezoid. That is we have all high value. The exhaust smoke density and exhaust gas temperature depended sensitively on variation of the injection timing rather than the shape of the combustion chamber within the experimental conditions. 4. We made a new diesel engine that is satisfied design target values(sfc=190 g/hr, NOx + THC=6.0 g/KWh, PM=0.3 KWh), the rate of fuel consumption and emission standard etc., through changing injection timing at the maximum torque point and rated power point. Although we have a little high NOx value.

  • Experimental study on combustion characteristics of double swirl coaxial injectors has been conducted for the assessment of critical design parameters of injectors. A subscale thrust chamber has been fabricated with a water-cooled copper nozzle, which allows a chamber to be reused without replacing parts. Two different designs of injectors have been tested for the understanding of the effects of recess length on combustion. Clearly, the recess length drastically affects the combustion efficiency and hydraulic characteristics of the injector. Internal mixing of propellants in the injector with the recess number of two increases a combustion efficiency and reveals sound combustion although a pressure drop required for the similar amount of mass flow rates increases compared with the injector of the recess number of one.

  • The objective of this work is to study the improvement of etching characteristics in wet etching process. The etching characteristics such as etching factor were investigated under different etching conditions and compared with the spray characteristics. The spray characteristics of nozzle with different geometries such as swirler angle and swirl chamber aspect ratio were analyzed by using PDA system to predict the effect of the spray characteristics on the etching factor. The swirler angles were 49,5$^{\circ}$, 63$^{\circ}$ and 76.5$^{\circ}$. The swirl chamber aspect ratios were 1.2, 1.6 and 2.0. It was found that the etching factor was correlated with the spray characteristics and also the smaller swiller angle, the larger etching factor became.

  • 스월 인젝터는 액체로켓 엔진에서의 연료 분사 장치로 널리 사용되고 있으며, 이에 따른 연구 또한 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 특히 연소 불안정 문제를 해결하는 것은 모든 종류의 액체로켓 엔진에서 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 연소불안정을 해결하기 위한 기초 연구로 오픈형 스월 인젝터에 대한 수류실험을 수행하였다. 인젝터로 유입되는 작동유체에 압력 섭동을 발생시키고, 그에 따른 응답특성을 실험적으로 파악하였다. 또한, 인젝터 스월 챔버의 길이와 지름을 변화시킴으로써 인젝터 구조의 변화에 따른 응답 특성의 변화를 확인하였다.

  • The effects of swirl chamber's diameter and length on injector's dynamic characteristics were investigated through an experimental study. A mechanical pulsator was installed in front of the manifold of a swirl injector which produces pressure oscillations in the feed line. Pressure in the manifold, liquid film thickness in the orifice and the pressure in the orifice were measured in order to understand the dynamic characteristic of the simplex swirl injector with varying geometry. A direct pressure measuring method (DPMM) was used to calculate the axial velocity of the propellant in the orifice and the mass flow rate through the orifice. These measured and calculated values were analyzed to observe the amplitude and phase differences between the input value in the manifold and the output values in the orifice. As a result, a phase-amplitude diagram was obtained which exhibits the injector's response to certain pressure fluctuation inputs. The mass flow rate was calculated by the DPMM and measured directly through the actual injection. The effect of mean manifold pressure change was insignificant with the frequency range of manifold pressure oscillation used in this experiment. Mass flow rate was measured with the variation of injector's geometries and amplitude of the mass flow rate was observed with geometry and pulsation frequency variation. It was confirmed that the swirl chamber diameter and length affect an injector's dynamic characteristics. Furthermore, the direction of geometry change for achieving dynamic stability in the injector was suggested.

  • 본 연구에서는 스월 인젝터의 기하학적 형상에 따른 분무특성 파악을 위해 액막두께 측정방법을 사용하였다. 액막두께 측정을 위해 특별히 제작된 인젝터를 사용하였으며, 백홀과 스월챔버 그리고 오리피스의 길이에 따른 분무특성을 확인하였다. 분무특성 파악을 위해 분사압에 따른 유량변화, 오리피스 하단의 액막두께와 분무각을 측정하였다.

  • 본 논문은 축소형 액체로켓엔진 연소기의 성능 및 연소특성에 관한 것이다. 축소형 연소기는 분사기 헤드부, 내열재 실린더부, 그리고 강제 물냉각 노즐부로 구성되어 있다. 분사기 헤드부는 18개의 주분사기와 한 개의 점화기용 분사기로 구성되어 있다. 분사기의 형태는 동축 와류형 분사기이며, 리세스 길이에 따른 4종류의 분사기를 적용한 각각의 축소형 연소기의 연소시험 결과, 성능 비교 및 정압, 동압 특성에 대해 기술하였다. 또한 설계점 및 탈설계점에서의 연소특성에 대해서도 기술하였다.

스월비 변화가 직접분사식 디젤기관의 연소특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Swirl Ratio on Combustion Characteristics in DI Diesel Engine)

  • Besides the fuel spray behavior and combustion chamber shape. an air motion has a key role on exhaust gas emission and performance in a DI diesel engine. A swirl ratio represents the ratio of the intake swirl velocity to the engine speed. The main purpose in this work is to investigate the effects of the swirl ratio to the combustion characteristics. A shroud valve machined to change the swirl ratio. Test was carry out by changing the engine speed, nozzle diameter and swirl ratio in a single cylinder diesel engine. From this study, the optimized combustion was found at swirl ratio 2.7. And it was also found that the increasing the maximum cylinder pressure with an increasing swirl ratio lead to decrease a smoke and to increase NOx.
