  • When the high power transistor is used for amplifier in microwave frequency, the bias of transistor is usually AB-class or B-c1ass because of power efficiency. The sweet spot point having small IMD signal compared with near neighborhood exicts frequently in the high power transistor using AB class bias or B-class bias. On the sweet spot, the magnitude and phase of the main and IMD signal of HPA output change as the input signal power change, respective the relative phase on the sweet spot changes rapidly. If we know exactly the magnitude and phase characteristics of IMD signal, we can design a more adequate linearizer and understand the characteristics of transistor. In this paper the magnitude and phase of the main and IMD signal of HPA output on the sweet spot are measured using the designed hardware.

  • This paper describes techniques used to analyze the sweet spot of sound field reproduced by ear-level linear arrays of loudspeakers by geometrical approach method. Previous researches have introduced various sweet spot definitions in their own way. In general, sweet spot is defined as an area whose stereophonic sound effect is valid. Its size is affected by the geometrical arrangement of the system. In this paper, a case when plane waves are generated by linear arrays of loudspeakers in the horizontal plane is considered. So the sweet spot is defined as an area in which the listener can perceive the desired azimuth angle. Because there are many loudspeakers, impulse responses at listener's ears are in the form of pulse-train and the time-duration of the pulse-train affects the localization performance of the listener. So we calculated the maximum time duration of pulse-train by geometrical approach method and identified with the results of impulse response simulation. This paper also includes parameter analysis with respect to aperture size, so it suggests a tool for sound engineers to expect the sweet spot size and listener's sound perception.

  • The dynamic characteristics of a tennis racket were identified by experimental modal analysis and the sweet spot due to these was calculated. A tennis racket was selected as a model reference and modal parameters of the racket were estimated from the transfer function measured by experiment. The transfer function was reconstructed by the modified modal parameters on the assumption that the racket was locally modified, for example, a change in the material of the frame and the attachment of a damping material to the grip. The change of the dynamic characteristics, especially natural frequency and magnitude of the second and the third vibrational modes, were evaluated from the reconstructed transfer function. The change of the sweet spot due to the modified modal parameters was estimated and visualized through computer graphic simulation by the criterion of the sweet spot measured before structural modification. The modal parameters for improvement of the dynamic characteristics.

  • Black spot of sweet persimmon, caused by Alternaria alternata, occurred in an orchard in Gyeongnam province, Korea in 2012. The symptom was appearance of 0.5 to 4 cm black spots on the surface of fruit. The pathogen was isolated from flesh of disease lesions. The causal agent was identified as A. alternata by morphological characteristics and sequencers of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) 1 and ITS4 regions of rRNA. Artificial inoculation of the pathogen resulted in development of disease symptoms and the re-isolated pathogen showed characteristics of A. alternata.

  • This paper presents a method for dynamic analysis of golf club. In the analysis, the sweet spot of golf club is defined based on the magnitude of torsional vibration, and transfer matrix method is employed for numerical calculations. It is shown that the calculated natural frequencies, mode shapes and transfer function agree well with the experimental results.

  • Black spot disease on sweet persimmon (Diospyros kaki cv. Fuyu) was found from the farmer's refregerated ware house located in Dong-eup, Changwon city, Gyeongnam province, Korea, 2002. The typical symptoms of the disease was appeared black spot on surface of fruits. Colonies of causal fungus were developed velvety and later turned olivaceous black to sooty black in color on PDA. Conidia were pale brown to golden brown in color and ovoid, obclavate to obpyriform, rarely ellipsoid in shape. and were 12∼46 ${\times}$ 6∼12 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in size. Septa were 3∼5 transvers, 1∼2 longitudinal or oblique. Conidia were mostly beakless and generated chains by means of secondary conidiophores. Conidiophores were pale to mid brown in color and 42∼95 ${\times}$ 3∼5 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in size. The optimum temperature for growth of the fungus was about 25∼3$0^{\circ}C$. This is the first report on the black spot of sweet persimmon caused by Alternaria alternata (Fr.) Keissler in Korea.
