  • Interest in sustainable management based on the stakeholder perspective is expanding not only within an organization but also across the supply chain. For large companies that have established networks, sustainability management of the supply chain is now a factor that not only determines the social performance of the company as a whole, but also determines its long-term competitive position. Despite these changes in the business world, especially the proliferation of the sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) system, systematic research on SSCM has been lacking. In particular, there was a lack of empirical analysis on which factors promoted the establishment of the SSCM system for large companies and what's the effects of SSCM. In this regard, this study analyzes i) the impact of the social responsibility pressure of customers as external stakeholders and the CSR orientation of purchasing managers as internal stakeholders on supply chain transparency and partnership cooperation respectively, and ii) whether supply chain transparency and partnership cooperation can enhance corporate reputation. The samples used in this study were 69 large companies representing Korea. The results showed that the social responsibility pressure of customers and the purchasing manager's CSR orientation were positively related to the transparency of the supply chain. However, for partnership cooperation, only the purchasing manager's CSR orientation was found to have a positive and significant effect. Meanwhile, both supply chain transparency and partnership cooperation were positively related to the corporate reputation. At the end of the study, discussions on the implications of the results and future research directions will be presented.

  • The environment of supply chains is rapidly changed to global and eco-freindly work process. However, at current environment, it is not easy to grasp work flow and to analyze energy efficiency. Improving energy efficiency and visibility for goods flow can contribute to increases in customer attitudes and reductions in overall production costs Additionally, it can lead to increases in work efficiency and reductions in overall production costs. Until recently, efforts to improve energy performance focused on manufacturing industry. Those efforts have expanded to the supply chain. In this paper, we perform business process modeling about supply chain for visibility and sustainability - information and component flows - from assembly plants to logistics. This paper defines the work and information flows by modeling the underlying logical structures of the supply chain and the business processes that determine impact of visibility and sustainability. We model processes using the modeling methodology specified by UN/CEFACT. This methodology explains business process functionality and business transactions by UML diagram. The output of this paper would be useful in grasping work flow and capturing the used energy.

The concept of the sustainable value added agri-food chains requires defined approach to the analysis of the existing situation, possible improving strategies and also assessment of these changes impact on further development. The purpose of research is to provide scientific substantiation of theoretical and methodological principles and develop practical recommendations for the improvement of the agri-food logistics distribution system. A case study methodology is used in this article. The research framework is based on 4 steps: Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Gap and Process Analysis, Validation and Improvement Areas Definition and Imitation Modelling. This paper presents the appropriateness of LEAN logistics tools using, in particular, Value Stream Mapping (VSM) for minimizing logistic losses and Simulation Modeling of possible logistics distribution system improvement results. The algorithm of VSM analysis of the agri-food supply chain, which involves its optimization by implementing the principles of sustainable development at each stage, is proposed. The methodical approach to the analysis of possible ways for optimizing the operation of the logistics system of the agri-food distribution is developed. It involves the application of Value Stream Mapping, i.e. designing of stream maps of the creation of the added value in the agri-food supply chain for the current and future state based on the minimization of logistic losses. Simulation modeling of the investment project on time optimization in the agri-food supply chain and economic effect of proposed improvements in logistics product distribution system functioning at the level of the investigated agricultural enterprise has been determined. Improvement of logistics planning and coordination of operations in the supply chain and the innovative pre-cooling system proposed to be introduced have a 3-year payback period and almost 75-80% probability. Based on the conducted VSM analysis of losses in the agri-food supply chain, there have been determined the main points, where it is advisable to conduct optimization changes for the achievement of positive results and the significant economic effect from the proposed measures has been confirmed. In further studies, it is recommended to focus on identifying the synergistic effect of the agri-food supply chain optimization on the basis of sustainable development.

  • In the light of globalisation and the international division of labour, the article will stress the importance of a new conception of quality management, focusing more on the social and environmental aspects of quality in global supply chains with a particular emphasis on suppliers' perspectives. The increasing focus on corporate social responsibility, business ethics, corporate citizenship, sustainable development etc. indicates that managers have failed to see social and environmental aspects of the production as an integrated part of quality.
